Mystery illness outbreak in Wuhan, China

An unknown strain of pneumonia has been making people ill in Wuhan, China. 44 people have been infected with the unidentified virus, with 11 of them in a serious condition. The local government and health authorities have been able to rule out Avian flu, influenza and adenovirus infection.Many of the patients worked at a seafood market that also traded in live animals like rabbits and birds which has prompted some concerns about a return of the deadly 2002 Sars virus. While Sars hasn't yet been ruled out, there is no evidence of human-to-human transmission and no medical personnel have become infected.

Two years to the day since this was posted. On that day, I was preparing to go back to campus for the spring semester. I went to visit my grandmother in her nursing home. Two years later, I have no grandmother. I haven't been enrolled in school since May of 2020. And I, along with my dad, brother, and uncle, are sick with the "mystery illness" that took our mother/grandmother away from us. We avoided it for nearly two years, wore masks, got vaccinated, and here we are. 300 million cases. 5.5 million deaths.

My school got lockdowned in March 17th when I was in 6th grade. Days before, I drew a big coronavirus on the school desk which had the text under it and says "please come to us, we want a 2 week quarantine like previous years". Turns out, we've still being affected by this today, causing a huge humanity crisis. Karma itself

My father expired due to covid Delta virus. It was heartbreaking thing. He was just 57. If not covid he would have lived for at least 10 more years. He was physically very fit. The virus spread like anything. Even if you wore masks and sanitized things, even a exposure of seconds was causing this disease. He gave fight for 20 days and finally his lungs turned into stone and he couldn't breath. This was all traumatic to see and go through. Instead of giving support I had to hear a lot from ignorant people that fear caused all of casualties in covid. In reality you can't breath when lungs are damaged 90-100% people can't survive.

I remember talking to a coworker about this when it first happened. She was telling me about it and I remember distinctly me saying “Well, I hope it doesn’t come over here” (Our county). Not even 2 weeks later we were getting told to wear masks and social distance. This is traumatizing for all of us.
