There’s nothing more fun and calming than seeing Kora running around her island at max speed.

I think the reason why the "new updates" myth tends to persist is because Nintendo is still pushing out *_very minor_* bug fixes when necessary. The only other post-2.0 content update of note was the addition of all the Zodiac figurines for upcoming years. So yes, Nintendo is still updating New Horizons, but not with any new content. They're just making tiny improvements that are pretty much invisible to the average player.

Thank you for that last bit. I know people want to keep their hopes up about new updates but at some point people need to realize that they arent coming.

Adding on to the treasure island myth, any fish that any villagers give you also don’t count. I figured this out when I donated a fish I got from a villager on Turkey Day.

A while back I heard that not having a ladder/jumping pole in your inventory will make it so mystery islands will have the villager completely accessible without those items (ie none of those 3 tiered islands with the villager at the top will appear). It sounds like a myth but I've never tried it.

The “no more updates” only goes for major updates (like holidays.. and.. 2.0) Minor stuff such as adding more to a holiday, or editing existing features. It’s hard seeing so manu people who can’t accept this game for what it is.

I don't know if this could easily be categorized as a myth, or if it's just a question people have, but I've seen (and personally experienced) confusion with the spawning of wasps, scorpions, and tarantulas - basically my understanding is that they have their normal spawn rates on the island if no one is visiting & your gates are closed. They will not spawn at all if you have people visiting (since if they passed out they wouldn't have a designated place to wake up - however if people share an island and play together, wasps/scorpions/tarantulas can still spawn since each player still has their own house they can wake up at). However the confusion is about if no one is visiting but your gates are open. I've read/heard from reliable sources that they won't spawn, but there has been at least one instance where I had my gates open with no one visiting and I got attacked. Another thing which kind of relates to your last video, and I think I commented about this on it, but it's about villagers remembering you on NMT islands. I've heard from reliable sources that in a recent update (one of the smaller bug patches since the 2.0 update) it is possible now for villagers who used to live on your island to remember you. At face value this seems a little odd to me for Nintendo to change something like this in a small update intended for patching bugs/glitches but I didn't immediately dismiss it. However, every villager hunt I've gone on since hearing about this, it's never been true for me - including once when Croque left my island, and when I went villager hunting, he showed up on the first island and did not remember me. I assumed if it had been a long time a villager wouldn't remember you, but it seems that even villagers who recently lived on your island won't remember you either. Whether it's a rumor/myth or I've just been unlucky, it's hard to say at this point, but if it is actually true I would love to see the dialogue from this encounter.

Apparently giving villagers wrapped blue roses (I gave 5) gets them to give you their photo faster, works but not because it's the roses specifically but the value/resale value of the wrapped gift. It worked for me! I finally got a photo I've been trying for for 7 months :D

2:08 I died so hard. I had chadder invade my island when I set a plot up for fauna, and built a prison around his yard and thought that was harsh punishment, but this hippo can't even move from his front door LOL

Here's an unusual rumor/possible myth that I have not been able to prove or disprove yet: Place a Stone lion-dog statue near some trees, and you will never shake a wasp's nest out of the trees that are closest to the statue. I have one that's next to several trees, and so far I haven't shaken a wasp's nest out of any of those trees (but I've only been doing this for a couple of weeks). All it'll take is one dropped nest near the statue to explode the myth, if myth it is. But I can't prove that the lack of nests is due to the lion-dog statue nearby -- could just be a coincidence...

i like to occasionally plant 30k bells in a golden spot, mostly on fridays or when i do something I really didnt enjoy doing irl because i could be suprised by 90k bells or i just get what I planted back, its not like im losing bells but I do like occasionally getting 90k bells, its just that most of my bells get turned into poki to spend at hhp for more variants of items

I guess I was always lucky because I got 30k bells from planting 10k bells into a tree 100% of the time. Over 500 bell trees and every single one tripled that 10k without fail.

When the war started I had a villager hunt day and I found Vladimir 3 times in that hunt, in the 3rd time I decided to turn off his fire and since I did it he stopped to show up, like literally, I not saw him for like over 2 months and I did a lot of villager hunting, I don’t think he is in my move in queue though… no one that I ever visited has Vladimir as a villager

Honestly, I agree that the biggest myth is that any of us will ever be truly happy with their island as it is. But with how I’ve done mine, the only way to change it now is to flatten it and rebuild, which I’m not doing.

I put 19k in a money hole once and thought nothing much about it and then when it was ready I got 57k back

One thing I'm curious about is whether the money tree mechanic is still the same. I know that what you said in the video was accurate, but I feel like that last update nerfed the 30% to get three times what you planted. I accidentally deleted my island when I upgraded my switch and I tried planting >10k for a little (weeks) while before I eventually gave up and concluded that the 3x mechanic must be gone now.

Not exactly a "myth," but a "what would happen if" type scenario I'd love to know the answer to. What would happen if you saved and quit inside The Roost café after you had a cup of coffee that would trigger Brewster to give you something? Would he give it to you the next time you entered the café? After your NEXT cup of coffee? The next day? Mail it to you? Would the game prevent you from saving and quitting?

Just came here to talk abt the thumbnail Money trees chances of giving you the amount you planted decrease a lot when its a high value i recomend to plant 10k or 30k, its a bit rare for it to give you back the 30 but at least its not rarer as it giving you back 99k
