Mythical creatures have been at the forefront of fiction and our imagination for centuries. Whether they were the creation from rumors and legends, or they were created in the minds of humanity, there has always been some form of truth involved when it comes to mythical creatures. While we might not get to see a real unicorn or listen to a mermaid sing her song on the rocky cliffs of the coast, there are other mythical creatures that were more real than we ever could have imagined. But, thanks to historical documentation, we can see where some of our most popular legends stemmed from. Since science has made great progress in the world of research, we can cross examine legends and science to see where these mythical creatures come from. For example, the sea serpent was most likely to be a giant oarfish. The mythical cyclops creature may have been inspired by an early ancestor of the elephant!

Krakens, also known as Giant Squids, were first seen by underwater drone. the drone went about 184 ft or more under sea level. Although the Giant Squid has been identified, many people believe it is mythical.

In Greek mythology, sirens aren't mermaids. They were vulture women who did sing in a way that would cause sailors to drown but had nothing else to do with water.

most sources say they had the body of a sparrow, not vultures. guess it depends on which source you get your information. 10th century Byzantine encyclopedia says Sparrow, but in some other research I've done it just said songbird

The unicorn is not a Unicorn. They are horses and they glue horns on there head, they find horses to make into a unicorn, and they probably put the horses in places and stuff to make it look real and it’s not actually real.

While this was very interesting, I do not agree. We have not explored as much of Earth as you might think. Think of Earth in fractions. Think of Earth in sixteenths. We have only explored half of one sixteenth in my view. Many of you may not agree with me but that is not what I'm asking. I'm just putting my view and opinion out there so others can see it from my view. In those spots of Earth we have not explored, there can be many of these mythical creatures and and many more we can not even imagine. Scientists don't know all. I'm not trying to be mean, if it might sound that way, I'm just trying to show more point of views than scientists put out there. Consider my thoughts and you might just see it how I see it.

Just to fix a fact, the komodo dragon doesn't have venomous saliva it actually has venom glands that are more similar to the Gila monster where when they bite the venom travels down a channel to their teeth that then infect the wound at the bite mark.
