In order for me to truly see this truth, I had to experience what I call being completely "undone". In my previous life, I had been so devoted and committed to loving and pleasing God in the ways I had been taught, and I considered myself pretty successful in that pursuit. A painful undoing and stripping away was necessary for me to see that I bring absolutely NOTHING to this relationship, and the scales fell from my eyes in a way that has forever changed and freed me. I am kept by Him in every way, and nothing depends on me. That's been my experience, for what it's worth. And, I am thankful for Martin and others who's writings have further opened my eyes to the truth.

A much as I hope and pray that Johnny and Caitlyn would see the true light, I'm seriously doubting it. Johnny's latest video came up in my recommended list yesterday. I thought I'd torture myself (since that doesn't happen enough now-a-days) and I watched a few minutes. In the first 2 minutes, he claimed that we must have fruit as proof of our salvation and that Jesus was fully God and fully man (a standard Baptist trinity teaching). His main teaching was from James (of course) and John. He touched on Romans chapter 1 briefly to show that believers are still condemned. His comments are disabled so even if I believed this crap, I couldn't ask for more information (which is a blessing in my opinion). I'm not trying to pick on or be mean spirited towards him, it's just a shame. The comments that you receive on your videos are so edifying (the videos are pretty good too 🙂). Thank you again for reading them. I often wonder why God chose me to be among such great believers but I am so grateful that He did. You do indeed have the smartest audience on KZfaq.

In our flesh, we exist alone for long periods of time. Day after day, we can only talk to self. Throughout each day, we go over and over things in our mind. So many people commenting. We can see and infer the depth of understanding of the listeners. Very encouraging. I say to myself that once you see it, it can't be unseen. Not ever seeing in the first place is the problem.

I think that the objector you quoted, who made the comment about people claiming to be saved and going to strip clubs or shacking up, really illustrates the crux of this controversy. The question on many people's minds is this: If a person is living a worldly lifestyle that includes things that (at least according to the objector) are sinful, can a person believe Paul's evangel then proceed living the way they had been? Here's what I would say: What Paul wants is for people to know who they are in Christ - to know that in Christ they are justified and made new creations, all because of what He did (Rom. 6:6-7, 2 Cor. 5:17). When one realizes this and truly appreciates it, one realizes how meaningless sinful things are in comparison, and it is logical to seek to live like the righteous new creations that we are in Christ (Rom. 6:20-22; 2 Cor. 5:15-16). If believers are out of control and failing to regard the new creations that they are in Christ, God deals with them in ways that may seem harsh, but for the purpose of getting them to focus on Christ instead of the flesh. This is how God was dealing with the Corinthians at the time of the first epistle. Even then, this is not about a fight with the flesh to reform one's self; it's about a realignment of our thinking (and consequently acting) that results from God's operation with us. This is what I meant when I commented that Johnny Greene's teaching relies upon confidence in flesh, which Paul did not have (Phil. 3:3). The body is dead because of sin; it is God's spirit within us that gives us life to put the practices of the body to death (Rom. 8:10-13). -SamuelC

Paul said: "I have contended the ideal contest. I have finished my career. I have kept the faith. Furthermore, there is reserved for me the wreath of righteousness, which the Lord, the just Judge, will be paying to me in that day; yet not to me only, but also to all who love His advent." (2 Timothy 4:7-8) Righteousness is reserved for us and will be paid to us. For now it is our by faith, but at the snatching away it will be manifest in us. I do not feel righteous very often, maybe never, but I expect to become righteous at His advent.

Martin... this whole series with JG has made me ponder the story of the prodigal son. JG implies the BOC still needs to constantly repent of our failures... which we see the prodigal son do in Luke 15:21. I find it interesting that 1) the son claims he is no longer worthy to be called a son, 2) he lists all the reasons, 3) the Father doesn't seem to even hear any of his repentance, instead calling for preparations of a party. Seems to me that what JG is telling the BOC to do is constantly say things to God about how awful we are and that because of this, we are not worthy to be Sons.... yet God no longer even understands what we are saying because He ONLY sees us as sons and wants to throw a party. He ONLY sees us as Justified... adopted Sons of His family... and legal heirs to His full inheritance... no matter how well we have managed this day to day. To imply that the BOC needs to constantly repent to our Father for sins would mean we speak to him in a language he no longer even understands from his Sons. It's basically piglatin. Amen.

I'm a secret lurker most of the time, I ALWAYS start my day with you! Then shower, cleaning teef, breakfast and so on. If I miss you one morning I always find myself listening on lunch. Your show has become a part of my routine. Hey Martin, I just want to say that I don't know where exactly... the shipwreck one or a few episodes later, but the last week and change I've tried something new. The thing I wanted to do BEFORE ever getting involved with God I'm trying to do again which is....live. "Live intently", to quote someone I used to look up to. Instead of worrying about God I'm wanting to actually start acting on my life again and make decisions and really try to live...daily! At first it seemed odd, because for so long I was always told to "wait on His will" and if something bad happened it was "God mad at me" or something. But the odd thing is, a LOT of the people I admire...when something goes wrong they adapt. If something breaks it's not "God's mad at me" it's more like "Ok, tire is flat. Get the spare and go on". For some reason STILL, after years of listening to you I held onto that because I never really realized I COULD let go of that. And it's weird. It's super weird. It's super duper weird. The COOL thing is, since everything is offloaded onto Christ... then reading scripture can go to being a choice as per the "living intentionally" thing. Because there's no weight, there's no "or else" attached to it that takes the will inside and beats it around with a bunch of "shoulds". I can choose things and do stuff and not worry about my feelings and "intents" as hard. Even if I'm not "Feeling into God today" I can still try to read Paul and stuff. And NONE of it is about me "being better". God works IN that. I'm STILL so used to trying to see "what is God doing here" and "What does He want me to do", separating things out. To actually trust Him is terrifying, in a way. Because I got no clue what I'm doing! If I can get rid of all the shoulds though, it's a start to relaxing... by living intently. I reckon Mr.Green has a ton of "shoulds" that bully him that don't even belong there, as have I. "Tyranny of the shoulds" is something I remember from the therapy run but come to think of it they sound like...accusations . Hrm. Sounds familiar....to a guy...that is...an Accuser. From the beginning. I LOVE YOU! Best show ever! I hope you get a podcast next eon even though we can move instantly. Just because it's that cool!

I'm glad you stick with this Johnny issue until it's squeezed out. It's real time and it's no joke. I see a desperate father who's already lost one child and is scared to death that he's going to lose another child if that child continues to believe in the grace of God. He's not willing to watch how God handles his daughter and her drug use and wants to handle it himself. It's hard to understand it until it happens to you personally but when everything is afforded to me, suddenly I don't really want everything. Grace takes the fun out of feeling like you're getting away with something. Now, that it's all good... whatever I do... I don't want to do it now. Many things are not that fun anymore now that I know God is cool with me doing it. Where's the fun in that? It's a paradox on how grace really works but I'm sure from what I hear coming out of Johnny's mouth that he never did understand it including that day he was on Martin's show. This is an amazing thing to witness. Thank you again, Martin, for covering it so well.

You ain't saving Johnny or his daughter Martin lol but I got a bone ta pick with you: you said in your previous video ole Johnny was "coming into his own" as a Israel gospel disciple and I had to pause. Soooo, even though Johhnny is doing the same thing Christians do mixing the gospels and preaching a perverted one, you're still low-key giving him a pass? Sooo by your logic, the Christians you say aren't saved are just being Israel gospel disciples and coming into their own, right? When it comes to people you like/love, your cohones begin to shrink and you double down, even at the expense of sound doctrine. From my observation, I think you're enjoying playing the role of Paul fighting off the Israel guys 😂. Hope you can start standing on the facts and stop cowering every time people you love are in danger of the second death. That said, those two aren't coming back, but if they can never lose their position in the BOC as you've insinuated, they'll be fine and you should leave them be. Otherwise, we'll be hearing this go on and on for months. Peace to the saints! 😈😇
