99% of Singapore's durians come from Malaysia. Orchards sell to Singapore the better breeds as it fetches much higher price in Singapore than elsewhere. Also growing good durian depends on the soil, temperature, humidity as well, only certain area yields tastier fruits.

There are no durians plantations in Singapore. Only shops selling durians imported from Malaysia. Even those friendly workers in those shops are foreigners.

I do find Thailand durians tasteless and crunchy. Not what I like. But I guess everyone has different preference. Malaysian durian is the best in my humble opinion

Hi Gigi, Malaysia is the land of durian not Singapore. Singapore gets its durian frm Malaysia n Thailand. It doesn't grow its own

Everybody know Durian came from malu land… the information so easy to get . Obviously she’s doing a show presenting what’s life about and forget not most of the stalls in Singapore from the stall helper to the owners are all Malaysian. don’t worry la Singapore is not going to steal your durian away although your malusian been stealing our national signature dishes and claimed to be your own… you Malusian don’t want face but we Singaporean want face .
