Today I am sharing very popular Maharashtrian delicacy ' Narali Bhat'. This dish is my favorite one ,and I have many fond memories regarding the same. My mother always used to make it during Narali purnima. Narali means with coconut and bhat means rice. It is a sweet coconut rice flavored with saffron , cardamom and cloves .
Here is the recipe
Narali bhat
Basmati chawal - 6 cups / Glass bowl ( around 1200 gm )
Water - 12 Cups/ Glass bowl
Fresh coconut grated- 2 cups/ Glass bowl
Ghee - 2 Cups / Glass bowl
Jaggery - 2 cups / Glass bowl
Sugar - 4 cups / Glass bowl
Cloves - 12 to 15 number
Cardamom - 12 to 15
Kesar - 1/2 gm
Milk- 4 Table spoon
Salt- 2 pinch
Cashew Nut- 1 cup / Glass bowl
Raisins- 1 cup / Glass bowl
