Btw this video shows both airline excellent experience. It is an Open question which one do you like better. I do understand the SAA flight is a short haul and Ethiopian is a longer haul so it may be unfair to compare directly. But i hope you enjoy my travel experience. I used Avianca Lifemiles to redeem the ticket to fly on these Star Alliance carriers from Africa to Dubai for just 35,000 miles. If you don't have the miles, simply sign up, buy during promotion and the Business Class ticket cost less than $500!

Hi Sam, I've flown Ethiopian a number of times. The airline is excellent but the transfer in Addis is a disaster, it's a real shame because a lot of travellers must be put off by the experience. Most of the time I now fly from London to Johannesburg and transfer from there. The overall experience is better because you get a decent rest on the flight from London and the transfer experience at Johannesburg is much better. My other choice is Nairobi with is somewhere better Addis and Johannesburg on the transfer satisfaction level. Great videos!

Yes, they are beautiful indeed. But its much more than just a pretty face, extra leg room, and warm face towels in Biz Class. Its an airlines "team" performance in a crisis that makes the real difference between life and warm croissants. And the skilled pilot in 96 did his best with that water landing in the ocean off of the Comoros islands. He can take a bow.

Thanks to your respect but that dresses not for all Ethiopian traditions. In Ethiopia so many traditions dresses, for example, Oromiya, Wollo, Afar , Somalia, are deferent from that airline dress.

I am a South African student , currently studying in India. I tell you ,when I first came to India I took Emirates economy but during my summer vacation I took Ethiopian economy the service is almost the same as Emirates and will be better I'm certain at a lower price.. The only problem I had was the delaying in departure and arrival of the flight , the airport itself needs immediate revamp and efficient management team . Hopefully by summer vacation it'll be popping ready... Eithopian all the way... Truth be told. Amen

I am an Ethiopian and I am well pleased by your remarks, and ofcource their will be some improuvments in the near future conernimg the airport facilities. Overall the Ethiopian airline is the leading airline and at the moment it is helping also other african airlines to improuve theirs.

I flew it last month - I'm from Namibia. Ethipioan airport is untidy and the plane was so dirty. Love SAA and Air Nam. But I was willing to try Ethipioan the attendants were so rude on my first flight and it was not cheaper than SAA or Air Nam. Won't be flying it again.

I flew with Ethiopian airline to Germany and I can confirm that it is the best airline .I love the attires of the flight attendants and they were also friendly.the food ,I looooved the food.I am expecting to fly to Germany using the sam flight,hopefully I am gonna have the amazing journey again..

Brother, you're absolutely spot on. I love how accurate your findings are. I would have said the same thing. These two are the best airlines in Africa. Ethiopian is also the biggest in Africa. Besides the Addis airport which needs urgent attention, I think Ethiopian is actually better. The good thing is they both belong to the Star Alliance Network. You should consider incorporating a very short study of the loyalty programmes. It would really help.

Loved South African. So friendly and nice. I flew the myself last year, great service. I can also say food was pretty good too. They even gave me an extra meal i was so hungry. lol Ethiopian in a spanking new A350, nice! Cloud Nine is the perfect business product and very often priced great. ADD airport is horrible, always crowded. They need to put some money into the Airport facilities. I am so envious of Ethiopians and their absolutely amazing teeth. All these perfect smiles are real.

I choose Ethiopian. The dining is way better. The plane staff are not to blame for the airport. The guy who helped you really seemed happy to help. I want to fly both, but my vote goes to Ethiopian.

I am so happy, to see that Ethiopian airlines is so successful. No doubt it is now the best full service carrier in the whole continent Africa. Don't forget , that just a couple of decades ago , this country still suffered the war and hungry. Amazing milestone. I love you Ethiopia! Greetings from Far East Asia

Ethiopian Airlines! I have memories of going on an Ethiopian Airlines 707 in 1979 (or 1980?) when I was 7 years old. I was travelling with my mum and brother from London Heathrow to Rome via Paris. Due to a bomb scare the flight was delayed for 24 hours. Strange, though being so young and loving planes at such a young age, I loved the flight and the delay. For years I remembered the beautiful colours and the planes interior including the seating. Around the middle of the plane, 6 seats on both sides were facing each other with a table in between (some passengers therefore flying backwards). Amazing memories..

Too bad you couldn't spend my time in Addis Ababa, I loved it there! Yes, Bole Airport is so busy, which is why they're building a second airport in Addis Ababa. It's a $2 Billion US dollar project!

Ethiopian! Of course I'm biased...lol. My teen years was spent with happy summers, great food and good friends. I will always have a special fondness for this African country, in memory of my Dad, who passed away in Addis Ababa.

Ethiopian is really good airline compared to other African airlines it the Addis Ababa terminal is very over crowded and now they are doing expansion. Hope it will be solved in the future

@@wannaplaythisdavid I wouldn't base my judgement on the airline off of the internet ratings alone. I would also look deep into the ratings themselves. The one-star ratings drag down the overall rating a lot. You will find that wait times, overcrowding, and returns are the most one-star ratings. These are petty reviews in my opinion and don't give the people reading them a good idea of how the experience will be as these ratings are dependent on a lot of factors.

All I know is back in 2000 I was just 7 years old flying Ethiopian airline for the first time . I remember being in complete awe at how beautiful all the air hostesses were, not to mention kind and very sweet! Haven’t forgot that almost 22 years later !!

I think that Ethiopian airlines is the better one. Apart from the congestion in Bole airport, Ethiopian airlines in an airline with great services and it is also one of the fastest growing airlines in Africa. It also got AFRICAS FIRST AIRBUS A350

I remember flying with ethopia airlines when I was 11. My brother was 4 at that time. The crew loved him! At some point the flight attendant ducked. My brother *smacked* her butt. I never laughed so loud in my whole life. Honestly great airline with great food✌🏾

Sam I think Ethiopian is better because of their more modern fleet. They have both A350 and B787 rather than South African which only have A330 and A340 for longhaul

Nice video. Really enjoyed watching. I have always had a good experience flying South African Airways. The food is good, the staff is very friendly. The experience is much better than most airlines in the U.S. Among the U.S. carriers, only Delta Airlines comes close to the service on SAA. I have never flow Ethiopian Airlines, so I cannot compare.

The flight ✈️ attendants are absolutely beautiful!!!! Smiles hair makeup. Definition of elegance and class. As a child I remember flying with my grandmother on TWA. And that's how the flight attendants looked. It's rare to find that much these days.

Ethiopian is the best m, safest, and most profitable airlines in Africa. Hence, that's why the air port is over crowded because everyone wants to fly Ethiopian when visiting Africa. However, I agree with you. Ethiopian should invest in upgrading it's terminals to accommodate such demands. I believe they are building more terminals and a second air port.

Nah I just flew new SAA bus from Ghana to Johannesburg,getting off the plane became a problem because I was so cozy and felt my money worth it.The staff!!!!!to die for.I think SAA train their staff well

Better in what because SAA crew is friendlier? Ethiopian Airlines was late, that’s unprofessional.They were also not proactive in assisting Sam with his connecting flight, that's bad service. SAA is error free. From aircraft to lounge to airport. No chaos, no headache, no need for apologies.
