I am in CT . The Vietnamese salons are trying to get 100 dollars for a full gel set plus 20 for gel polish. They are not clean places and they do a terrible job. I taught myself to do my own nails. every time I used to go back to the places for a fill the price always changed and went up. Never again. Learn to do your own.

In a little town in middle England , we have a nail shop run by Vietnamese and they are very quick and do amazing smooth nails .

I travel for work. The reviews and pictures on line drove me to trying gel x on myself. NC drove me to doing my own nails. I'm honestly glad I did. I love it now.

I am so glad I do my own.. it beats $275 for a full set every 3 weeks here in LA, with length & a handful of rhinestones.. I pay that for about 3 months of nail supplies - quality supplies at that & my nails are always blinged out 🤩😇

In south england a high street nail shop charges about £30 to £40 for a full set on acrylics (maybe a little extra for designs)

I used to settle for this kind of service. Now, if I'm unhappy I speak up right away. Not on a rude way (there's no reason to go there) just politely. And if I'm still not happy I will never return and go somewhere else. Even if I lose money on the experience.

This is why I learned to do my own nails. The walk in places like this are disgusting, terrible work, unsanitary, but cheaper and the nice places that do good work are just too expensive for me to get my nails done every 3 weeks. I bought a bunch of salon quality products from kokoist, zillabeau, and luminary and I just do it all myself.

THIS is why I started doing my nails at home!!! Not only would it be expensive and time consuming the quality wasn’t it for how much I’d spend. I’d always have lifting and nails popping off, once you start doing your own you realize they skip a bunch of things to save product and money. They cover up the poor quality with a nice polish, design or airbrush 😑🫤😦

Honestly because they were rushing that didn't really get that clean finish there's still some beads of acrylic on the sides that should've gotten filed down and honestly just the idea that didn't have the necessities that other nail salons had and that everything was sticky is a red flag because it could cause health problems in the long run

Horribly done, I stopped going to those places because they talk shit about their customers and they do a horrible job a real professional mani with gel or acrylic takes around 2 hours or more, I’m so happy I found a real professional who knows exactly what to do

There's a second nail shop on the same strip as this one. Same owners too. I stress do not go there. Knightdale, NC. I have not had a good nail experience there. Even a pedicure, they've cut me, and my manicure was too thick, uneven, bumpy, and they didn't listen to anything I said. I ended up going elsewhere days later to fix what they did. Its going to take another month to finally have healthy nails again.
