I hope it stays that way too! Fewer bassists means I get more work because there's less competition.

Since this is a 34" scale, same as an electric bass and he started on upright, it probably is throwing off his positioning a bit.

I understand what you are saying, Just gets a bit annoying at times wading through guitar videos to find one with some relevance to bass aha

Your comment implies that there are significantly more guitar players than bass players since guitar players are 'dime-a-dozen'. Thus it makes sense to cater to electric guitar players. I'm a bassist and dig it a lot more than guitar too, but I just had to point out the issues with your comment.

As a bass player I'd say that's not really productive. A lot of products bridge both electric guitar and bass guitar applications as well.

To be fair, the VAST majority of videos shot at NAMM sound terrible because of the Convention's "Sound Police" which fines companies a good sum of money when they amplify above a certain db. I believe this started in the mid-to-late '80s with Guitar companies, and that now companies with actually build soundproofed enclosures within the show to crank the volume without it disrupting others. ...as for the playing, I've got no explanation why THAT screwed-up... ;-)

I can tell he's a great bass player, but a lot of the notes he was playing were out of tune. Maybe he's just more used to electric fretted basses than he thinks.
