I agree that the varnish looks great, but I could do without the antiquing. From more recent pictures and videos online, it looks like they have made the antiquing much more mild and I think it looks much better.

They one in the video costs 2'200. Guess you ordered the SB59 model...the antique vanish one is 2'200.

@Tony Dinh no we do care about where it's made because in China they use cheap materials, and the resale value is terrible

iPhone are made in China ... Everything is made in China So you can find good and bad things Eastman guitars are excellent

about the lespaul copy: 1 piece mahogany body, carved top, ebony fretboard and seymour duncan antiquities pickups ... what more do you want :/ ?

generationhardcore I'm not saying that it's poorly made. It sounds just like a Les Paul and the ebony fingerboard is a slight upgrade, but it's not offering anything significantly different or a better price and it doesn't have the name. If I wanted a guitar that's that similar to a Les Paul, I don't see any reason to buy the Eastman instead of just buying Gibson.

I've been personnaly disapointed with gibson's offerings as of late, and for the same price you'd have a gibson with rosewood fretboard, maybe classic 57 pickups (which are great, but the seymour duncan antiquities beat them nonetheless). you can also take into account that finish thing they've got which can look good (not really my thing though ^^ ) My point is just that these are probably better than most Les Paul gibson sells for the same price point, so that's where i disagree a bit with you. You can still get a very good Les Paul from gibson for that price, but you'll get a slightly better, slightly more beautiful (or not, taste and colors) with better specs from Eastman. Also, no trace of ebony board on some Custom Shop Gibson (5000+ usd) so it's not that common :) and I guess we agree on the Eastman but I'd at least try it out to see how it feels. Cheers

John Maloney If you go to Eastman's website you'll find the pricing of their non-antique finished guitars are a sight cheaper and are highly competitive. If you prefer to buy a guitar because of a brand name then that's up to you, but I'd rather choose the guitar that feels, sounds, plays and looks better. That can only be done fairly when they're in your hands. You can't tell that from a KZfaq video.

Why not? The Eastman Les Paul copies are better then most Gibson Les Pauls for 1/2 of the price or even less....even better then most of the Custom Shop Models. Gibson's quality drop is obvious.
