Why meditation isn't working? Satpal Singh explores various reasons why Naam meditation feels difficult to do. This workshop includes:
- Parenting and teaching meditation and spirituality to kids, children and teenagers.
- The impact of mobile (cell) phones and social media, dopamine and addiction
- Morning routine
- Finding the time to meditate
- Worldy pleasures
- What is Naam simran (mantra mindfulness meditation) good for?
- Two stages of Naam Japna, Namo (surrender) and Na-mai (not me)
00:00 - Meditation
03:03 - Wake up and meditate
13:33 - Why meditation instead of worldly pleasures?
15:32 - Practicing Naam Simran
25:02 - What are we trying to achieve with Naam Simran?
Recorded at Khalsa Secondary school, Stoke Poges for the Sikh Channel Ekta Smagam in January 2019.
We believe everyone should know and experience spiritual bliss for themselves. Here at Nanak Naam charity we're on a mission to transform lives worldwide through Mantra-Mindfulness. It absolutely works. simran ended my 18 year battle with alcoholism and now i get no cravings, no urges, i just feel great all the time. I've been doing simran everyday for 3 years now, there's been alot of God calling, and being lost in thoughts but now i dont have anywhere near the mental chatter as before, i dont get enraged like i used to. Especially after Satpal Singhs' videos i've managed to tune in where i can go for 4 hours a day and i have a release of mild bliss, where i dont want to stop. These videos have been a great help and i would encourage everyone to start their journey, its so worth it. As Krishnamurti said: "if you ask what meditation does for you, then it does nothing. But if you dont ask that, then it does everything". Even if it deosnt feel right for you right now, just keep watching these videos, at some point you will get the understanding. Best wishes.

suk d Drinking alcohol is not a disease. The disease is the compulsion of the mind. That compulsion is the difference between the “alcoholic” and the recreational drinker.
@sukd2669
@sukd2669 4 жыл бұрын
@@bobsingh5521 but lets look at a recreational drinker: i hated drinking moderately because when one drinks they feel high, then it HAS to come to a stop. So ive introduced a chemical to feel up but i must go through voluntary withdrawal for the session not to get out of hand. That withdrawal is suffering. The high i felt with the alcohol is proportionate to the opposite level of pain i'd get in forcing myself to stop. I never appreciated that, i would have to suffer after a drink in order to maintain being a drinker. You laugh as much as you cry. This works with everything, Some people want to live a full life but what they dont understand is that they will get more pain aswell. Alcohol and drugs is the worst form of high and the most acute forms as well, materialistically.

Oftentimes we advise people to do Simran, however they often times come back to us and tell us that it isn't working. This video does a great job at explaining why.

I agree with you vir ji. I tried simran all the day. There were days when I would say waheguru with all the breath I took. While sleeping subconsciously I would say waheguru with all my breaths. I was not able to concentrate on my job sincerely and I couldn't sleep till I stop chanting. I think the way to jap naam all the day is to live the life in a natural rightful manner.Although I would like to know how to remember god all the day according to you

Please dear brother, feel neither ashamed, nor proud full. For when you feel inadequate to the task ahead of you, you cut the flow of Divine Energy moving through you. Similarly when we become “overly proud” of our “achievements/abilities” and let our egos run the show, then too Divine Energy will not optimally direct our actions. 🙏 Wisely find middle ground, and just do the best one can, without judgment. Turning all action over to Divine Grace. 😁❤️ Wahe Guru

Simran word has come from Hindi word smaran/ स्मरण meaning memory, remembrance. Saans Saans Smroh Gobind, Ath pehar aradheeyah. continuous remembrance. Naam is as per his deeds. SGGS has explained To uplift your deeds as Almghty's character . Har Jan aisa chaheyah , har hi jaisa hoye. To always remember virtues of AKKAL PURAKH. 196} From SGGS. I'm further adding SGGS breaks our bonds if simran is done in a particular fashion, place or way. 266} Any action by my body for upliftment of mind is KARAM KAAÑD. Brother the game is "DRIVER" my mind, not horses of a chariot I.e body actions whi are mere slaves of my mind. In continuos repetition of single word or a line as per science of psychology, mind goes to sleep by repeating single action. Things which you are explaining can be Kundalini action or God knows what ? It can be related with Vedic Hindu Religion not "SIKHISM" explained in SGGS.

Hi you cant force these things on people even on kids ..most parents dont even pray themselves but they have the cheek to ask there kids to do it ...they wont do it... you have to practice what you preach ...for your kids to accept it ...and its not just reciting or reading ...you have to truly understand what you are reading ..that only comes with study of scripture.. and seperate what punjabi culture is ..and what the guru granth is saying ..until then they will not ..thats why you see in sikh house holds the farther with turban but the daughters have uncut hair bhangra club goers...and the sons the same ...the farther of the household does not truly practice what he preaches if he does practice what he preaches its generally a hindhu brahmin version of sikhi promoted by A.K.J ...or a british version of sikhi a watered down version.....it doesnt reigester in the child ...
