Nancy Sinatra singing her fabolous version of this old tune (1927¡).
Nancy dedicated this beautiful song to the boys in the USA Army, in the 60's.
She made a tour, The Good Will Tour 1968 for these boys, Nancy sang for them and take some of them in her arms and gave them comfort.
She cried whe she sang this live when she back to the USA, Vikki Carr and Suzi Quatro were there too¡¡¡.
This song is part of her LP "Sugar", the album was censured in Boston, because it's sexy cover, Nancy wearing a hot sexy bikini¡¡¡.
Nancy is an autentic Diva¡¡¡

@19471960 Thanks for your comment. In fact Nancy is against the war Vietnam or any other, she is a great america woman, but she was in vietnam cuase the boys of the USA Army ask her to come and sing to them, she never gives her support to the war!!

I love her in this, thank you so very much for sharing - I have ALL her records (missing some of the pre-boots singles) and I have her recording of this on Reprise, but this different version is wonderful - when she was here in Vegas not too long ago I yelled I LOVE YOU to her and she signed I love you back - wish she would come to Vegas again to do her show!

I watched this when it aired on the Ed Sullivan show with my Mom. I was a big fan at 10 years old. My Mom wanted to watch her perform this because she said Nancy was dedicating it to the men in Vietnam.

This wonderful very old song has been done by everyone. My favorite versions are by Bobby Darin and Ms. Barbra Streisand. Streisand's is part of a medley, it is buried on itunes and is on a DVD of her TV special, The Belle of 14th Street. Ms. Sinatra's version is lovely. This makes me think of my partner whenever we are apart (yuk, but true).

Wow this is an example of what a lovely voice Nancy had. Her hits didn’t really showcase her. She was superb at ballads like this.

My grandfather was a POW from Stalag 9B. When he was there one of the things that kept him going was singing this song to the others. When he died, on of his pals sang this song at his funeral. Thanks for posting this song. Ive been trying to find this. Do you know if there are other versions of this song?

Those soldiers sure come to life at the end of that song! If that is the old kind of annoying standard tune that I use to hear used on a dog food commercial then count me enrolled as well! 100% percent turn around!

Turns out I own 2 copies of the LP "Sugar" -- Very interesting about the censor of the album --- it is a very sexy (yet grainy) photo - and she's even pulling her bottom down with her thumb (similar to an image in Playboy or something - but still in a bikini). *I just checked out Sugar Town from the same album - here on KZfaq and the persons video has some still shots from the same photo shoot as that album cover. Not to be confused with the actual "video" of Sugartown - which is also on YT.

Chet Baker was only singer that did Buddy better than Nancy Sinatra and she kills it. Very underrated singer.

Superb version but still not the best, thers a version with Barry White and some other dude that is out of this world but I havnt been able to lay my hands on that one for ages =(
