They are practically unheard of in the USA due to lack of promotion from the label and resistance from the USA music industry. But they can't stop word of mouth, so please keep promoting Lovebites and telling all your friends. These ladies are phenomenal, as good as any metal band out there today.

"resistance from the USA music industry"? 😂 You are absolutely right: That will be of no use. The reputation of excellence will always find its way. Like you write, word of mouth is a superbe promotional instrument. Every fan a promotor. What does the U.S. music industry want to do against millions of enthusiastic fans from all around the globe? The U.S. music industry could as well try to catch the wind. 😂 So embarrassing... Sounds like panic to me. 😂 😉

You guys are right about Iron Maiden. Lovebites founder bassist Miho was heavily influenced by Maiden and other 70/80s British heavy metal bands. That is also the reason Lovebites has two lead guitarists. If you are familiar with Japanese female metal bands, you'll know Asami's vocal is different from most of them. The band found Asami specifically due to her vocal and singing style, which is similar to Bruce Dickinson or Ronnie James Dio.

LOVEBITES - Holy War lyrics: Look at those black clouds, it’s going to rain blood People live in fear, covered in mud Singing oh Gloria to change the prophecy We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for sisters There is a thousand, a thousand of evils Hush, do not wake up Satan’s devils Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for brothers Shining blade and burning heart Into the Gates of Hell we march Immortal soul, let there be light Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun We are one for all and all for one forevermore Kingdom of Heaven, never shall we fall Reincarnation, wait for your call Singing oh, Gloria to change the prophecy We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for sisters Morning star and dying moon Into the Gates of Hell we march Mighty soul, let there be hope Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun Stand up in the name of the God of heavy metal What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight? But the world is beautiful, worth fighting for Only have one thing on our mind Facing the fate, holy war Singing Hallelujah to save our majesty We are the metal warriors Fighting the darkness for brothers Shining blade and burning heart Into the Gates of Hell we march Immortal soul, let there be light Into the Eye of Heaven Eagles at a holy war Fly higher than the sun We are one for all and for one forevermore What do we live for? What do we fight for, tonight? If you want to see Miyako on piano, check out "Swan Song (Piano Etude)", "Epilogue", "Edge Of The World", & "Spellbound". If you want to check out another Japanese Metal band, I highly recommend Galneryus. Their guitarist Syu is an absolute God & an inspiration for Miyako. Their lead vocalist is highly talented & sang the intro for Hunter X Hunter, "Departure!", before joining Galneryus (they covered it as well after he joined). They also did the Season 2 outro for HxH ("Hunting For Your Dream"). Three songs I would recommend you to check out from them are "Angel Of Salvation", "Raise My Sword", & "Force Of Courage", preferably all live versions.

This live version of Holy War is from their "Five of a Kind" release. This was great, but the latest live version of this song that they did in their latest release "Heavy Metal Never Dies" this year blows this one away. 😁 If you can find the Bluray or DVD & afford it, I highly suggest in getting it, it's totally worth buying, LOVEBITES is worth it. They are great & they have so much more good heavy metal music to offer. Thank you guys for checking out LOVEBITES. Cheers & stay safe! 🤘🐺🐺🐺🐺

Miyako, the dark haired guitar goddess slayes the piano / keyboard !! She has been playing since the age of 3 & is as good as anybody in the world. She was going to make classical piano her career, then at 18 she discovered guitar 🎸 Whenever you hear piano / keys in the background, Miyako recorded it & controls it from her pedal board. Miyako is also the main music composer but they all have written music for the band. If your going to keep playing Lovebite songs...I might have to subscribe !!😎🎸🎹🥁🤘

I would put Lovebites up against any male metal band and I think they would probably slay the opposition with their technical ability, songwriting skills and live performance. They make it seem so effortless at the same time as looking like supermodels on the catwalk and perform a full 90 minute plus gig, playing their instruments, moving around the stage, headbanging and changing the pedals on their effects boards wearing four inch high heels and do not even break sweat says it all. They are definitely the real deal.

I noticed you made a reference to Iron Maiden well LOVEBITES made a tribute song to Maiden (specifically ACES HIGH) the song LOVEBITES made is called “The Crusade” kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q8t7rLRl3a-RnY0.html this is the official music video

Whom do they sound like? You referred to so many bands. It means they are not copying any specific band that you have named. They remind you of so many bands because they simply sound like old school metal, and influenced by romantic era classic music. As you mentioned about piano, this piece is played in the same show, and you can hear some of classic essence there. This is a tremendous piece. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jaiYp9SYzr6pcWg.html The singer shouldn't sound like anybody in metal. Her background is R&B/Jazz. She didn't know anything about metal when she was recruited by Lovebites. She tried to adapt her style to metal first but the other members advised her not to, and here she is.

Comparing the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal, Floor Jansen and Asami the Napoleon Stage General is a riot to me. Floor at 6' 1" and built like an Amazon Warrior next to the 4' 10" ex-ballerina just makes me LMAO. Floor has been at it since she is 16 and has training in Opera, Musical Theater and other vocal techniques. Asami is a backup RnB/Jazz/Soul/Gospel background and never sang metal till she joined this band. Both are absolute Stage Generals who command the stage and the crowds while their bands are one of the best playing LIVE there is. Unfortunately, both bands lost there bassists (Marko left Nightwish and was replaced by Jukka from Wintersun (now there is a band to blow your mind Sons of Winter and Stars (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/itJlh5CY0brIiKs.html) where Kai the drummer of NW came from as well). LB lost Miho to personal reasons and they are now on hiatus till she is replaced. Nice reaction to a song that doesn't even make this band's top 10 list!!!! If you want to see the real band in action then here we go: Guitar Clinic Scream for Me LIVE (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l8mnntOZzOCyl2w.html), the solos go on and on nd only end when Asami calls a truce!!! Thrash (this band's speciality) The Awakening/Hammer of Wrath LIVE (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pdp6jbOGqN3df4E.html) after 90+min set this is their return for a 3 song encore. Piano & Metal (masterpiece) Swan Song with Chopin Piano Etude intro LIVE (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jaiYp9SYzr6pcWg.html) Watch Miyako's left hand on the keys!!! Uplifting and Guitar crazy Rising LIVE (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a7KEYLqZq63XgHk.html) put on the captions and enjoy the lyrics. Blast Fun Spellbound LIVE (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gK6ZecWm38ytinU.html) Their salute to arena rock bands of the '80s and Miyako is wicked on the keyboard and then the Nerd gets the KEYTAR to play while she harmonizes with Midori (who is LHAO at Miyako lugging that instrument on stage). When you are done then you can jump into Nemophila, Mary's Blood, Aldious, Doll$Boxx, etc... all the female bands in Japan saving Rock and Metal from being eaten alive by the Pop, Rap and Hip-Hop waves on YT.

Congratulations on finding the best new metal band to come along in decades. Just found your channel, watched your earlier reactions to Hanabie, Lovebites etc. Here is some info on Lovebites: In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miho and Miyako have composed most of their music, in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer, but Midori has also been getting into the act. Asami writes a lot of the lyrics. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. and aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and at this point they’ve taken it to another level. This is one of their usual first songs for reactors, and rightly so--you get a good sense of the band. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. They are generally best live. You already saw "Set the World on Fire" so here are some more: "Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qdJgYLhe3tGuc4k.html They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope. Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/or6Ykth-sp-Ymok.html; Miyako is also a professional-level classical concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. If you want to see what she can do on the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude”. Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. This link should work: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jaiYp9SYzr6pcWg.html; but if it is taken down, you can watch two clips back to back: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nqpyncyCrp_HqZc.html and kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q6ujeLp6uMmcgWQ.html I promise, it’s worth it. For a thrasher with heavy Metallica vibes, “Break the Wall” kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fZZiZMSBl8fTZo0.html includes two gorgeous and completely contrasting solos by M&M. For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z9-eobt1y6vSno0.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both) Finally, while it’s generally true their live clips are best, their MV’s are epic and worth seeing: "When Destinies Align" kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nrJ2mM96npm6m4E.html "Glory to the World" kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y916p6djvau8eGg.html "Winds of Transylvania" kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ftl1Z7iTxLbOmGw.html. You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

Well if you want a instrumental band that is stunning I give you Asterism, Japanese teens who have been together since they were 11!! Dawn LIVE (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mNuBg9l6s7DHcWQ.html) in a small club due to their ages and lack of exposure. Hal-Ca/guitar is 16 and has that Hendrix vibe, Miyu has the custom made 7 string bass (ESP made a custom only for him bass at 17 y.o.), the poor drummer Mio is fantastic keeping these 2 beasts in check and on point. They write, arrange and compose the fusion of Metal/Jazz/Hard Rock and if your want shredding it is up close on this video. No vocals has held them back but they are still in high school when this was made so imagine where they will be in another 5 years.

Since you asked for more Japanese bands, here goes (I posted this on an earlier reaction so if you saw it already, apologies for the repetition). Japan has had an active all-girl metal scene since at least 1981. This is a starter list of all-female (or in eight cases, mixed gender) metal, punk, hard-rock and post-rock bands, with founding dates where I know them. It's alphabetical, except for the first three, which are at the top of the list for historical reasons. They set the table for the explosion of Japanese female hard-rock, punk and metal bands. Note: I have tried to pick clips that are reactor-friendly because they are high quality and are representative of the band's style. You are likely to get suggestions mainly for Band-Maid, Babymetal, Lovebites, Nemophila, Unlucky Morpheus and Wagakki Band. You can’t go wrong with any of those, but I hope you will find time to check out more of the bands on this list. They are all worth the time and deserve the love, and many will really surprise you. Show-Ya (1981 The original female J-metal band, founded before Metallica-this is from their 24th (!) anniversary concert-and they are still touring) They belong the any rock or music hall of fame: “I am the Storm” kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pbCPaKqnmNyqmoU.html Shonen Knife (1981 The world’s first bubblegum punk band. They have done several world tours. They also perform as a Ramones tribute band called Osaka Ramones): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rZ98iM-K37XNh6c.html Destrose (2005; This band was never stable, but has become almost mythic in Japanese metal history, because so many great bands spun out of Destrose, including Lovebites--you will recognize the drummer and bassist): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fZeGqqh4rbatmKc.html Aldious (2008 Glamorous and kick-ass rockers-one of the first generation all-girl metal bands, along with Destrose) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qcybfbdh19jFXWw.html Asterism (2013 Not all female, but will melt your face off- the guitarist Haruka Noma is off the charts talented and still a teen-ager) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f8yogMxhp96YqGQ.html Babymetal (2010 The flagship “Kawaii metal” band and the most well-known Japanese metal act outside of Japan. Combining “Kawaii” (cute) Japanese pop tropes over thunderous heavy metal backing) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mbFjgbCLpruvd6s.html Band-Maid (2013 OK, there are 100+ great songs by them. Here is a live clip): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fK6gqKiisqfHdJs.html Bridear (2011 Heavy, technical-and their tiny bassist also growls): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/grd5d9Smya3DdIU.html Cyntia (2011 Second wave, hard, heavy, but with prog and symphonic touches) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fNSYgsWZms_DY4k.html D-Drive (2009 Instrumental progressive metal and fusion; Mixed gender. Extraordinary, technical dual lead guitars featuring Yuki and Seiji) Here is a lockdown version of their first hit from 2009: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g89grM6D28CVfHU.html Disqualia (2015 Destrose spin-out, featuring Narumi, one of the best guitarists of this generation, and Hazuki, then an up-and-coming talent who is now a member of Nemophila) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y7NlraV817qugps.html Doll$Boxx (2012 Insane mix of metal, electropop, and god-knows what else; a collaboration between Fuki and Gacharic Spin) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o9tirZeGy5-4l5c.html existTtrace (2003: Visual Kei, progressive, technical, some death-metal and goth touches) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/heBhf9lpva2mdmQ.html Fate Gear (2015 Super-group, one of the Destrose spinouts-continually changing lineup built around Mina (g) and (until very recently) Erica (b); this single video is one of the best in this list): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qrKBldagsLeyXWQ.html Gacharic Spin (2009 Founded by two high school classmates, Hana (Dr, Vo, multiple instruments) and Koga (B) who had already been in other bands. Do everything from punk-pop to heavy metal and progressive; highly technical) Here is their first video, with original singer Armmy (d. 2015): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rMyqfNdjlcXciJs.html Gallhammer (2003 Black/Death/Doom/Punk; this is from their 2007 UK/Europe tour; co-founder Vivien Slaughter is now making electronic ambient music!): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aMyEnNyAtJfSink.html Galmet (2006 Straight-up death metal, but in prom dresses) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/htSmpbJ9yrjYXX0.html Ganglion (2010 Metal with a hint of electronica) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p5-aZ9dkstmRg5s.html Hagane (2018 Started with Sakura posting blistering metal guitar covers on youtube while in high-school, and the rest of the girls finding her; full lineup came together in 2019) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oZ5-h7V7xN-4qI0.html Hanabie (2019 Kawaii death metal, deathcore, thrash. Technical. Most frequent comment is “That’s nuts.” One of the bands to watch in 2021) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fZdorNyntanNhIE.html Kakumei (2013--see Trident, below) Lisa-X Band (Prodigy 16-year-old guitarist Lisa-X and a rotating cast of fellow bandmembers, often including Hazuki (of Disqualia and Nemophila). kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o7SPoq-iudHFZoE.html Lovebites (2016 Modern Power, Speed, Thrash and Heavy Metal. Already making a global splash. Here is their most famous official MV-it’s even better than Shadowmaker IMO) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nrJ2mM96npm6m4E.html Mardelas (2014 Another spin-off from Destrose; mixed male/female; leader Marina Hebiishi has one of the best voices in the biz) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jcpog5qoudS7eqc.html Mary's Blood (2008 The first major Destrose Spin-out) Here, Saki murders her guitar without breaking any nails: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g7J9Zdifu5bPp4k.html Maximum the Hormone (1998 Crazy, chaotic mashups of deathcore, nu-metal, pop and high-speed rapping. Co-founder Nao (drums) is the only woman in the band. She has been a major influence on female drummers throughout Japan.) This clip captures just a bit of the madness: 予襲復讐 (Yoshu Fukushu) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mMt-aMihmrPWlI0.html MergingMoon (2010 Mix of prog and melodic death metal. Vocalist U is Japan’s terrifying answer to Tatiana of Jinjer) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qa98YNmYrbSzpWQ.html Mutant Monster (2008 Punk-pop, really good at it) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fMpmrNB-t5qUfok.html Narumi (solo prog-rock and fusion compositions-a change of pace from a master guitarist) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mbipdsR5z92tl58.html Nemophila: (2019 Supergroup of Mary's Blood guitarist Saki, ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu, ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki, ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and ex-Soramimi drummer Muratatam.) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/os5dl7l9sLaXYWg.html 54 Nude Honeys (1992 Early Japanese punk-they toured the UK and Europe) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oK6efbagrLSZfZ8.html Otoboke Beaver (2009 thrash punk): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nNGHmamJ07LUiZs.html Rie aka Suzaku (instrumental guitar) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o5yKZap1mrnVfqc.html Sokoninaru (2011 Progressive metal, math rock, extremely technical; male/female cofounders) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g7yon5OrvcCmgmg.html Sonic Lover Reckless (2018 Special project of Miyako Watanabe, one of Lovebites’ two incomparable guitarists) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/er6KYNSZ3cqVhn0.html Telecide (2016 Metalcore, aggressive and melodic at the same time) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ocuhYJqLqNLZdpc.html Tricot (2010 Post-progressive math-rock, highly technical with crazy time signatures and polyrhythms) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hsVykqqS0dmuonk.html Trident (formerly Kakumei, renamed in 2020 with some personnel changes. Evolved from pop-punk to thrashier hard rock; several lineup changes but the bassist and lead singer have been constants) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b9Fpp9t-1Nu5Y2g.html Unlucky Morpheus (2008 Female leads Fuki (vo) and Jill (violin). This band is a deep well unto itself, they cross many subgenres of metal; Fuki and Jill also do other projects and Fuki is lead for at least two other bands including Doll$Boxx, above) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jJ6ZkrSZtM3Xe6s.html Wagakki Band (2012 Folk-Metal fusion band, all jedi-level musicians, half of them play traditional Japanese instruments and the other half play standard metal instruments) This song was originally written for a virtual (AI) singer, referred to as a Vocaloid kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h5idmLqcvNfHXX0.html Yōsei Teikoku (1997 Rock-Folk-Metal-Electronica fusion ensemble) Set up in a fictional Fairy Empire, led by founder Yui, they have done a lot of anime themes and sound-tracks and also perform original songs live, in character. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/lauVjNulpsvFiGg.html There are many more (others that come to mind are BRATS, Drop’s, Stereopony, Scandal, Princess Princess, which all tend more in the pop direction, and the Bang-Dream projects, which are live groups based on Manga series. And of course, there are other female-fronted Kawaii-metal groups like Ladybaby and Ironbunny, to name the two best-known after Babymetal. If there are others you think belong on this list, please post a comment!

Dunno about Metallica at there peak in 2000s they were a force day 1 peaked late 80s - very early 90s. Then commercialization, bad choices and even bigger egos got in way. Metallica are the best Metallica cover band, sorry Scream inc lol They havent been able to recapture the magic energy hunger rawness and attitude of the early days. Jason leaving did not help he was the most metal dude in the band..

Lovebites never scream and growl like Nemophila, it's not fit with their music. Don't forget she is from R&B and Jazz singer, I think she use a different tone depending on the LB song.

@@funnyrailroadcrossing2767 Haha i edited my post while there is still no comments figured it would just get negative comments. I have nothing against the singer shes amazing but having someone who can also do metal vocals would elevate the band even higher. There heavier thrasher songs would be better with a metal vocal style IMO.

@@lianshadowmaker7834 James cant even tell you which songs belong to Load or Reload. St Anger and Lulu are straight up embarrassing Death Magnetic was Meh, S&M2 was a rehashed S&M, they didnt even add songs like Orion & Fade to Black. They changed after Justice and lost there way after Black. People respect Slayer more than Metallica because they stayed true to themselves & the music all through there career, Metallica tried reinventing themselves multiple times which failed badly, it cost them fans, respect, status and a badass bass player.

OMG where are on earth are you getting your info from geez, wrong in every direction. They are not inspired by nightwish in fact they are so much better than nightwish, Asami does not sound like floor at all. Dragon force was the first male metal band top bow down to the excellence of Lovebites and has great respect for them, these ladies are so much better than your favorite rock/metal band. Metallica in 2012 sucked from 1983 through 1990 was their peak, you youngsters have a lot to learn, but yeah it is what it is!
