If Germans take the other view, then on this issue they find themselves on the same side as the Palestinians Russians, Iranians, Chinese unlike the entire Western world, including all of its immediate neighbours. Germany, unlike the US, did not vote against the ceasefire at the UN but abstained. Not that this a simple matter of taking sides. Israel would immediately withdraw their ambassador and likely sever relations. It's hard not to see the argument in this video about Germany disingenuous.

@@rumblejungle5590only because the criminals in Israel will whine “anti-semite”. Pardon me, but since when does Israel get to dictate to anyone in the world? I’m talking about ordinary people here, NOT bent politicians who take bribes from foreign governments. Obviously they have the ego for it, but that doesn’t make it so. The only people Israel has purchased, is high ranking politicians, media moguls & corrupt media mouthpieces. That doesn’t mean they own everyone else.

In 2008, Professor Norman Finkelstein, who comes from a family deeply impacted by the Holocaust, was deeply outraged by what he saw as feigned sorrow or "crocodile tears" from a student at Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio. Finkelstein's father was an Auschwitz survivor, while his mother survived the Warsaw Ghetto and Majdanek concentration camp. Having experienced significant loss within his family during the Nazi Holocaust, he was infuriated when confronted by a Jewish student questioning his pro-Palestinian stance. He said: "I don't respect the crocodile tears - if you had any heart in you, you would be crying for the Palestinians."

Finkelstein, even if he is Jewish, has a lot to learn and process. He is still in darkness regarding the State of Israel. That he still remembers terrible memories of Auschwitz or Majdanek it doesn't matter. I remember them from my family, too, but to have a heart or understanding for Palestinians terrorists from the 7th of October or until the 7th of October, it is quite impossible. It means to have a heart for the NAZI criminals from WWII. AND according to my perception, Ms. Klein is a little delusional. She wants to be o both seids of the fens.
@palladin331
@palladin331 2 ай бұрын
@@lorenzley1324 Klein, like Norman Finkelstien and Noam Chomsky, is caught in the delusion that all sides are wrong because power is always wrong, and that the weaker party is more oppressed and more deserving of help no matter what depravity is committed. Their ideal is stateless communism, which miraculously eliminates all sides and all bad actors, an obvious failure of understanding. The bad guys were the Nazis. The bad guys are theocratic terrorists. The bad guys are J6 insurrectionists and Republican fascists. No one can guarantee that Israel won't make mistakes, but there is no question that Israelis, and Jews everywhere, understand their centuries-long victimhood at the hands of fascist lunatics, whether Inquisitors, Czars, Nazis, or terrorists who have absolutely no interest in democratic values. Klein has no right to turn back the clock and reverse the creation of Israel because of her foolish ideal. it's too late for that. She should be proudly supporting the existence and continued flowering of the miracle of Israel, and working to convince the Arab world to create similar thriving democracies in the Middle East. Of course that won't happen. Democracy cannot coexist with theocracy, just as it can't co-exist with fascism here in the United States.

Well said Ms Klein. In 1993 I undertook my Grand Tour and visited Israel to see for myself how what I had been told by my father, a well read antipodean Hellene, compared to the West’s propaganda taught to us at school. My the girlfriend and I visited Yad Vashem, the holocaust museum in Jerusalem at the behest of our Hotel’s concierge. We were aghast at the imagery of human experimentation conducted by the Germans and walked out visibly shaken, only to find bus loads of Israeli schoolchildren being herded through with no means of escape from the systemic indoctrination designed to elicit fear and hatred aimed at preparing them to become machine gun toting baby soldiers programmed to intimidate and persecute anyone they were directed to, or for those on a power trip, arbitrarily chose.

At the time the movement was created, the Ottomans controlled the area then after WWI, the British. There has never been a Palestinian people, nation, culture, civilization, language etc...the term emerged in the 1960s. It's a construct. 25+ millions of Soviets...... Most Germans and Austrians don't even know about that, nor about the Leningrad siege, etc.... and the joke of a German Foreign Minister, Mad Lena, is at war with Russia. Again...

In 1987 i worked remodeling houses in a Cambodian neighborhood in Lowell MA. I got to know many of the families, and not one of them mentioned their Genocide. Which was very recent then. They were excited too be making their way in there new home.

Wow. Very well explained by Naomi Klein. These perspectives on genocide will move humanity a long way forward, if we can get people to understand them correctly. How the de-humanization, or the 'othering', of a people comes about is what needs to be understood. It is not just about the hatred of Jews or Israel, or a people. Nor do you have to be psychopathic. Prof Roy Casagranda at The Austin School explains very well how political nationalism (not patriotism) leads to these same inhumane behaviour in even 'ordinary' people.

Naomi Klein Thank You 🙏🙏 🤎 May God protect you and your Family Thank you to all the Protestors and your Speech. It was Historical !! If you think you Love Freedom but don't care if it applies to everyone, then what you actually Love is “ Privilege " If you feel pain, you're alive. If you feel other people's pain, you're a human being

Spot on... I would like to hear more leaders in Europe or here in Germany say We must defend Palestinians . Promote Palestinian human rights and their State .Stop the destruction in Gaza. All I hear is we stand behind Israel . We must defend and arm them etc etc. Very out of touch with the feelings and desires of fellow citizens. Not to mention the biased media

Years ago, Klein made a comment that identity politics was the wrong choice and that we have to get beyond it. However, she is still stuck in it when she, as with Michael Mann, lumps doomers with climate deniers. Part of this no doubt comes from her own Jewish traumatization. The key is to focus on issues, not identities. The zeitgeist has moved on. If you don't focus on issues you will be lost too.

I am a Holocaust revisionist. When I was told at school at the age of about six I thought "Six million? That's a very round number! How do they know? Did someone go round all the camps counting the numbers? I doubt that." I asked the teacher, "How do we know?" She said because the camp commander confessed. I thought "Why did he do that? He must have been tortured." Rudolf Hoss, commander of Auschwitz, was tortured, as I believe it is now accepted. Here in UK, as in Germany, I could be jailed for my opinion. What happened to free speech?

Let's not forget that one year after Christopher Columbus had landed in the so-called 'New World' and Cuba, there was not a single Carib Indian left in the whole of the Caribbean Sea due to the Spanish genocide of the local inhabitants; thus the need for a few, 30 million by rough calculations, slaves from mainly West Africa to take up the slack.
