One of the best interviews I have seen in years. Naomi demonstrates her skill of asking intelligent, meaningful questions and then letting her guests speak, reflect, remember, and shine. No interruptions, no “me, me. I, I,” or ego trips. Thank you for letting us see the depth of one of America’s best actors and entertainers. Agree with Whoopi or not- she accomplishes her goal of speaking her truth and making people think. Congratulation, Naomi!

She’s gotten better with time as she used to talk at the same time as the guests or not letting them finish their answers. I think she was just excited to have the guests there as they were her friends but I am pleased to see she’s growing into this really well. I look forward to seeing more interviews. I love Naomi.

@@dusroots I hate comparing too; there is plenty of room for both. Each lady can have her lane and style. When I listen to an interview and want to learn something, the last things on my mind are what the interviewer looks like or what they’re wearing. I want content and execution.

Whoopi Goldberg’s life story is so inspiring. I will never forget her masterful and spellbinding performance in The Color Purple. That performance should have won her her first Oscar. The movie was nominated for 11 AcademyAwards and won nothing! Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress X2, Best Cinematography...a robbery in 1986! Still one of top five movies! EGOT Whoopi blazed a trail. 🏆🧨❤️
@kathleenem9207

There are many actors who don’t get the Oscar when they deserve it and that’s what happened to Whoopi. She was definitely shortchanged that year. In the end though, her performance has continued to shine and has been appreciated for decades. To this day, if it is on no matter what I am watching, I will stop and watch her and the rest of that wonderful cast. It touches me still-every single time, with or without a statue.

Thinking about their conversation of comedians, and how often they carry such deep sadness withn . . . I think one reason is that theyr'e so deeply aware of the absurdities, ironic contradictions, and paradoxes of life. If your art is finding the "joke" in everything, then that's just one step away from seeing that life itself is absurd and doesn't make sense. I'm sure it's really easy to become haunted by that; in a way, it's where the deepest humor comes from. Think of how many comic actors (Whoopi is certainly one of them) are so gifted at playing dark, serious roles. Comedy and tragedy are, indeed, two faces of the same Janus.

She didn’t know it’s Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony. But most of them also have a golden globe.

Yes! Naomi said it right at the beginning, but it appears she didn’t want to correct her. Sweet in a way.

I'm loving every minute of this interview! Two Queens having a conversation that we get to over hear! I remember as a young teen watching her stand up routine about pretending to be a white girl in front of a mirror. As a white person she introduced me to what white privilege is and how much of a fight and struggle it is for African American people. I purposed in my heart after that to do everything I can in my life to work for equality for everyone based only of their character and ability. I love Whoppi! She's the #GOAT 💜♥💜♥💜♥💜♥💜
