There's actually a number of bands of this genre. Running wild started it back in the eighties. There's Scuurvy, and Swashbuckled as well.

Nice catch, I wouldn't have known that, I only just found them today rather randomly by watching a rocked out version of "Diggy Diggy Hole". I then got a lot of music suggestions, found a channel called "A Pirate's Life" watched 'Varend Volk - This Night We Spend Ashore' and somebody in the comments mentioned "Alestorm". It's been one hell of a rabbit hole, and I don't regret a bit of it.

TheConspiredOne Since the joke seemed to fly further over your head than a 747, allow me to explain it for you. In America, college freshmen are 18 to 19 years old, which places them below the legal drinking age. As such, they are unable to purchase their own alcohol, and descend upon parties like a swarm of locusts hellbent on drinking everything they can get their hands on. I made the comparison that, much like the pirates in this lovely ballad, college freshmen are only here to steal and drink our beer. Hope that clears things up for you.
