I was actually there during the filming of this, im in this scene. Took all day to get right and Lincoln Cathedral in England was nowhere near as full as it seems here. It was fantastic working with everyone and i cant wait to be an extra again. This was so powerful the first time i did it, and when i saw it in cinema. Loved this film

Napoelon knew Pope Leon III inverted the Bizantine rituals when he crowned Charlemagne (that made him angry) in 800 and wanted to avoid that the Pope Pius would take advantage too. Therefore he agreed with Pope Pius that he would crown himself and Josephine, the Pope would only be there to bless his reign.
