I was actually told by a very potentially narcissist that if I didn't devote enough time to him that he would grow apart from me.

The manipulation seems to crawl at a very slow pace for the unsuspecting empath. By the time we figure out the narcs plan, we are all in mind, body and soul! It is pure evil to play with our hearts like that!

I’m just thankful I got the knowledge before all of me was gone in that 13 year nightmare. Made a list of negative and positive experiences. Strange that immediately after going no contact I was fixated with the good memories. My negative list kept me sane and always assured me I made a good decision to leave

This video triggered me. She did pull back for a long, long time, but for 2-3 "good days" a month, the relationship felt dead. When I finally ended the relationship, she moved 3 hours away to be near her daughter- who is now no contact (again) with narc mom. Took several months for her to find sufficient-enough supply. She thought I couldn't live without her, she didn't think I had it in me to ask her to leave. This happened before I knew anything about narcissism, I'm proud that I did some things right even if I didn't understand. She is an aging narcissist who dresses like a rebellious 14 year old and acts like a 25 year old. God help the current supply.

Thank God that they slowly pulled away from me. It hurt me to the point of waking me up to their lack of care and concern for me. I decided to leave the relation and then they said that they loved me to pull me back in. Thank God I no longer trusted them. Three months after I left them, two other people left them and they came back to me but I was already watching videos on narcissism and toxic friendships. Yes we are a group of survivors here. Constant threats of leaving..sometimes he would pack his things and leave..i asked him why he did it, he said it was to take back control..he said you know i'll come back in a few weeks once i've calmed down...so glad he's been gone for over 3 months..i feel so much better already...found this video very helpful

Yeah… they can’t be honest and say the relationship isn’t going to work out. They slowwwwwwly take ALL of your resources while watching you suffer. All the bad things happened to me. The new supply shot me 4 times close range in front of my daughter. Then the narcissist text me while I was on the ground telling me I was going to jail even tho they came to my house and did it. Then she turned against him when he got charged with attempted murder to save herself. Then came back hovering trying to get me back. Never came to the hospital to check on me. Oh yea the whole time I was taking care of the child we had together while she was getting food stamps and claiming my daughter while not recognizing she even existed. I Got locked up on false charges lost everything I acquired. She laughed. But look at me now!!!!!! Thanks to the most high. In the most positive way, “ FXCK A NARC “

My ex narc did so many things while pulling away. One was taking an Alaskan cruise alone, only he wasn't alone. A female coworker shared his cabin. I found this out when looking at his reservation info while searching for his birth certificate which he needed to get through Canada. He wanted me to text a copy of it to him. I told him he'd need it before he left. Urged him to get a passport, but as usual he left loose ends. He swore the lady was a platonic friend. I didn't care about the cruise as I hate boats and don't like the open sea. But, the female coworker was a completely different concern.

All of my admirable qualities were almost weaponized against me. I was the ideal man, then I was with many faults and had change, true we can all be better versions of ourself each day, but in a toxic relationship the “self work” goes on an on mutating until I felt like I was not good enough. Lol, it was text book like you state here Andrew. May the Almighty bless you for taking time to help us. 💜🙏🏻

Great video Andrew. Yes my ex narcissist was very good at manipulating me and any situation in his favor. Once I said the magic words I love you, it was over and all downhill after that. He would be cruel to me then right when I was done he would be so sorry and kind and promise to change. It went on like that and just kept getting worse and I noticed that little by little he would ignore me more , stay out longer up until he started staying out for days. No explanation no excuses I got nothing but anger from him if I asked. So I knew right then that there was someone else in the picture. The phone calls he would leave to answer the texts it was right there for me to realize that I was slowly being replaced. But according to him I was imagining things I was being jealous and crazy. I'm out of that relationship and Never again will I let someone treat me like that. Thank you Andrew for the video and thank you everyone for your kind words. Stay strong everyone.

It's like the hot and cold treatment except eventually they will turn everyone against you. Narcissist's are actually very jealous which is why they have to bring everyone else down into either falsely believing lies they told or ruining someone else.

I didn't want to be the problem when he wanted to "work" on the computer in the evening for side business work. I didn't know he was a workaholic (a trauma response). My parents, my inlaws and both of my sisters have had lifelong marriages to narcs yet no one was discarded and replaced. 🤔

We share an adult disabled child. The communication cannot end due to this fact. I'm just trying to figure out ways to keep him less involved because even as of today he lost the medication I left him with so he can have our child overnight. I have to pay over 1k for the meds. I'm crying because it just happened. God is good , I know it will be ok.

Yes this is so strange. But exactly like you describe once they know that they have you then the poor behavior starts. Noone should accept being poorly treated. You need to feel that you deserve respect and love. They are so superficial and today I run the other way when meeting such an individual.

You are absolutely correct! It happens very slowly so that you don't really notice that there is a problem until eventually you see the light. I found out by my daughter making me go to a therapist to get help, because she said there is something wrong with me. But the therapist said it's not me. It's my daughter and husband. They are narcissists!

You're exactly correct....now I'm learning that, my 1st husband was, because his same traits, I'm just now discovering in our daughter....😢 Women are a little different in thus aspect, however, same end result patterns, "All about themselves, even towards own children ". How in the world have I not seen this in her or her daddy.... 😢 It brakes my heart.... people think she gets her attitude from me, No.....she's a Daddys girl.... Wow! The trauma of the discard caused me so much distraction, that I hit my head, twice, and almost got a detached retina. I also broke my foot and couldn’t walk well. Months later, I am finally getting foot surgery. The narcissist is ghosting me now.

Yes, they were pulling away slowly one activity at a time. I hate when I hear men describe intimacy as sex. Intimacy is all the things leading up to sex. Sex is just the icing on the cake. Women aren't like men. They don't get excited at the sight of a picture. That hormone is released when they experience true intimacy. I've never understood the whole "hold out" concept. I don't scratch unless I have an itch and I don't have sex with someone who isn't putting intimacy into the relationship. Suggesting otherwise implies it is owed to you.

Looking back they had us on a slippery slope from the start. They knew exactly what they were doing. Everything and everyone they come in contact with, they hurt or try to ruin. My biggest hurt in this life came from the enemy within the camp. Hung out to dry......what really gets me is, bad enough they hurt me another adult but destroying our family.....i will never get over seeing the hurt in my kids eyes. I'm finding that part of it unbearable!!!!! That is my biggest regret.... bringing children into the world and they getting hurt....eats me up inside every day and I'm really struggling with it! It's pure evil! He weaponised them. Family is everything to me and now mine is divided....everything you said Andrew, all of it, is exactlty how it played out, carbon copy!!! The devaluation stage was the longest part.... over three decades.....eurohoric stage short-lived....they held a carrot over my head from time to time - the discard......we never existed. There is an energy exchange all of the time with these creatures......"spiritual warfare" - and this would be said on a regular basis to me when i tried to have a reasonable conversation, " all is fair in love and war".....and then he'd leave. God is my strength......tuning into the channel.....without you Andrew getting on here every day, i dont think i would have made it through the past year and a half. All true and experienced it. What's happening is a slow increase in a lack of basic respect for you from the Narc. The simple question I had to ask myself ( and asked it way too late ) was "What kind of self-respecting person am I to tolerate this ?!" Self-respect is attached to self- esteem. I sure wish the narcissist would pull away from me! I’m going to court Wednesday (send good vibes plz) for the petition of eviction I filed. I think I actually did notice my ex pulling away. Instead of staying in the city to be with his family, he went to his brother’s more and more. I was a water sports widow in the summer and a ski widow in the winter.

I could feel and see him pulling away and I handled it in entirely the wrong way. I started losing control of my temper and my emotions and practically begging him to treat me better. I called him out on the future faking and saying I knew it was all lies. I gave him an easy discard. He blamed me for my behaviour. I got to be the crazy ex and he got to be unaccountable just like with so many ex's before. I even blamed myself for a while untill I put all the puzzle pieces together. 4 months no contact and he had a new supply almost immediately.
