Narrow gauge Railways of Great Britain Golden Valley Light Railway July 2017

The Golden Valley Railway is a 2ft gauge railway and it runs through some lovely countryside.At the far end you can see the old and now out of use Cromford canal tunnel,you can see this on my video.
Very quiet trip for us as we had the train to ourselves,no noisy kids heaven!
I liked the little Simplex loco,great fun.

I have heard they could be getting another loco soon.We were I think the only passenger on this trip and had a good chat with the members running it.

Excellent video, looks like a decent run too. Lovely scenery and lots of railway interest. I prefer steam too, but the Simplex runs very well and looks well kept.

Another railway that can be found at the Midland Railway Centre,well worth a visit.

Yes we like the Peaks as well..Riding alone this little railway and only a stones throw away from the ex Midlands coal fields,you wouldn't believe it,now all gone.........Regards Chris

We liked the Simplex but a steamer would have been better.You wouldn't think that your in the old coal mining area as you roll alone amongst the trees,but lot's of old shafts very nearby.............Best wishes Chris

Rosie had a drive of one at the Apedale railway and she loved every minute..Lovely ride through the park and all alone as well......Regards Chris

Chris, if kids are noisy it means they're having fun, railways have to be fun for them because they're the next generation and we will need them to be interested (and then heavily involved) one day! Blimey, I'm 24 and just sounded about 40!!!

I quit agree Mark that the children of today are our future railway enthusiasts or we hope volunteer,I would be and am the first to encourage any youngster to get an interest in railways...Regards Chris
