How kind of you to reply. Those narrowboat years were our "Halcyon" years together as we only had 10 years before she was stolen from me by cancer. Everytime I see a canal my heart leaps with all those wonderful memories. Michael.

What a well-cared for watercraft!! It almost glows in the dark, it’s that clean and polished. Organized and tidy but not overbearing in the organization. He knows all the systems and how to take care of them. Beautiful. The pair of them are well spoken. It’s apparent they are happily committed to the life.

Hi Scott, it’s a lovely way of life, off grid, no ties to anywhere, no deadlines to keep and we can choose where to be. It’s not all sunshine and roses mind, you do have to work at things and can be a bit challenging at times, but we love all aspects of BoatLife. If you serious about thinking of doing this, can we suggest you take a short vacation over here, and hire a narrowboat for a week or two, that way you’ll know as soon as you set foot on the boat if it’s something you really want to do. It’s not for everyone, so always best to have a go first, but I’m sure you’d love it! Thanks Scott! xx

Hi, I commented on your post earlier, I shared with my partner to see how good your boat looks. She says we saw your boat on the Grand Union in October while we had a boat from Wyvern Shipping. She remembered the name and how good it looked from passing.

My late wife and I had a narrow boat 20 years ago and it was the "state-of-the-art" boat then. This makes it look like a heap of junk. What a fantastic work of art this boat is. It really is the last word in narrow boats.

Lovely when we bought our boat NB Fiddlesticks from ABNB at Crick I sat in the lounge and said to the sales lady I’m going to take the drier out from under the rear stairs and fit a freezer she said no need your sitting on it it’s the same as yours 👍👍🖐

Loverly boat guy's and well laid out .I particularly like how Martin has all his tools and spares in order a man of method . The only thing i would alter is get rid of the West Ham plaque 🤣🤣 and throw it over board stay safe guy's and greetings from sunny Thailand 😎😎👍👍

NO not any more we used to sail years ago living in San Diego, Ca.it's the normal thing to do we had a 32 foot Catalina lots of fun lots of scary sailing at night trying to out run ugly weather a little different than the canal boating . Happy Trails

Hi David, thank you so much, lovely of you to say! If you’re looking to get a boat, many boaters will help with advice, and you can always ask us and if we can help we will. The best bit of advice would be to definitely get a full survey done before buying a boat. This will show up any potential problems with the boat, for warned is for armed. Really hope you go for it! What a great tour and more's the point the amount of thought into how things work and get stored is truly fantastic. Anyone could be forgiven for thinking you have been living on boats all your lives with this the culmination of your experiences put into practical design. If we even do manage our dream of returning to UK and living on a narrow boat (I've been working in S E Asia for over 35 years, my wife has never lived in UK. Our adult son lives permanently in UK.) we would love to be able to talk to you both about how you make your boat work for you. The storage and how you have made spaces other people would ignore but for you they are pressed into service. So inspirational. I've sketched and planned out a number of design ideas for how we would want a boat and of course we are different people, so there are some differences, such as we like the idea of a cruiser stern and reverse layout but there are still some major similarities within each part of the boat. There are so many questions to ask about how you managed to get everything so well sorted.
