Yes, as stated by the nurse, this is not a sterile procedure. It might be easier if the procedure was done with the siderail in down position. The blue vant tube surves as a vant to decrease potential for tip of tube to cause gastric mucosal injury due to suction.

Its supposed to be a sterile procedure not clean cause you are putting a device
