Great two female singers could come together, sing together and just have fun. They were good friends. Natalie always idolized Patti and learned a lot from Patti. They always supported one another in shows, concerts and their personal lives. They both just loved to sing: together or separately. No competing against each other just loving each other’s talent. Patti is Natalie’s peer. Natalie never tried to stand ahead of Patti just next to her…❤

@i_lovejamarion8 ай бұрын
@@dontelindsey5846 i say 2004 because i feel like after she turned 60 a lot of the power and vocal consistency she had in her voice she lost. she was sorta already having vocal issues in 2003/04 anyway but the good thing is she can still sing as good as she can even at her age today!
@MusixMan8111 жыл бұрын
Even though the episode was about getting rid of her roommate they STILL sound better than anything you or most "singers" today will ever be able to do. Patti may not be everyone's cut of tea but you better believe she can SANG! Natalie Cole's voice is hers alone and she held her own with what she is able to do. Patti's voice is yes, louder, stronger, higher, but the blend was PERFECTION.

this is amazing. Completely live and just singing and like the person said below it was written this way to have her over sing and sing loudly. Nataile Cole aint no punk either girlfriend can blow.

Excuse me but the blinking in the video has got to go. But ignoring that. Natalie and Patti was singing tails off. Patti overpowered the background singers, the piano, and Natalie. A gigantic powerful voice. But you can tell she wasn't really trying to. The fire of the performance. Natalie was bringing the melody and the runs. Soothing like water. It was lovely.

I had always wanted to hear patti sing that song and she sang it the way it 's supposed to be sung. she just has a most unique and powerful gift. if other singers could hit those notes they would not hesitate. she's not insecure at all, she's just a singing somebody.

+Torrey Green Patti just has a powerful voice. Even in her group, she didn't really blend well with Sarah Dash and Nona Hendrix
@HarlydarvySenior8 жыл бұрын
+Torrey Green She was always a lead singer too, Torrey. I see your point tho. And.. your kinda right...
@BigWhiteBoyLuvsPatti8 жыл бұрын
+Torrey Green, I don't think the intent was to drown Natalie out. Anyone who sings with Patti knows you have to bring the beast. But I think her over-sing in this was scripted as part of the sitcom. In this episode, she had Duane Martin's character staying with her after he fought with his roommate and was being stubborn about it. Patti's character was trying her best to be over the top to wear him out to go back home. Like the foot stomping from 2:10 to 2:20.
@BigWhiteBoyLuvsPatti8 жыл бұрын
+Torrey Green Plus, if you look at this compilation of performances from the sitcom, she not over-drowning at all when she is with other folks. But once she hits You Are My Friend near the end, singing solo, the beast in unleashed and she is pure Patti. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/abODopyp2L3eiYU.html

+Torrey Green Patti never harmonizes with no one. She out sings and oversings. It's both her strength and weakness.
