This week, Aaron is missing so the guys are joined by Nate's friend and fellow comedian Joe Zimmerman. Nate gives a movie review of the Meg 2, Joe breaks down the guys' horoscopes, and Brian comes into some unexpected money. Then the guys prepare for Columbus Day by learning about explorers, which quickly dissolves into just discussing the movie career of Liam Neeson.

I don’t know this Joe guy. But he seems like a college educated liberal. He probably believed all the Covid nonsense and the transgender garbage becaus it’s “science.” But the idea that you can’t go to space despite the only proof of space being cartoonish nasa videos he just can’t even fathom. And he was just so arrogant about it.

I absolutely LOVE when Dusty makes a song reference and it slips by everyone. His reference to the Sugarland song "Baby Girl" had me giggling. (Please send money, I'm so broke so that it ain't funny.) I caught it Dusty and appreciated it!! Edit to add: I'm still waiting on Dusty, Brian, and Aaron to come to Detroit! Saw Nate in April, and he was amazing of course. But, I NEED to see the rest of the gang!!

It's been very cool to see this channel grow: the different comedians coming on turning into the Vecchione/Warren/Zimmerman specials and now the showcase. They've all been hilarious. They say there is no such thing as a stupid question, in middle school I asked my social studies teacher how did people create the map layout and how do we know if it’s the correct shape? I remember she couldn’t answer me so gave me a attitude. This was the first time I felt stupid as a kid, only to realize later on I should have been teaching the class!

The dusty picture prank is solid. My dumb friend did that to me, but with little plastic dinosaurs. He hid over 100 in my house. Found them on ceiling fans, in coffee cups, even in the toilet tank. Hilarious…that is until I’m meeting an important client, reach into my suit pocket for a pen only for a blue dinosaur to pop out and land on the table. Only way out was to blame the children I don’t actually have…”kids…am I right??”

You glossed over Leif Erikson a crazy amount, and just riffed on his name. He reached America 500 years before Columbus. That's insane. That's how good the Viking boats and sailors were. They did something 500 years in advance of the next successful attempt. That's roughly the same distance between Columbus' voyage and the 1990s.

Hey folks, I am a junior in college studying Biology to become a doctor (sorry dusty). In my ecology class we learned about mullerian and batesian mimicry. They are different types of prey defense mechanisms, but the names are very similar. Mullerian mimicry is when one toxic animal mimics the pattern or color of another toxic animal. Batesian mimicry is when one harmless animal mimics the color and pattern of a toxic animal. My mnemonic to differentiate the two types is all thanks to Brian. I just imagine that the BATESian animals are harmless just like ole bates. Thanks bingo for the mnemonic, and thanks guys for providing great entertainment.

My husbands Grandma got a call from my brother-in-law saying “Hey grandma, I’m in jail. Can you send 5000$ to bail me out?” She said “I don’t have any money Mike, I just bought a car.” And hung up. She didn’t tell anyone until my sister-in-law came over two weeks later and she asked if Mike got out of jail. Needless to say it wasn’t really Mike, and he’s never been to jail or in any kind of trouble at all- yet she asked no questions to anyone, not even my husbands parents who live upstairs from her. 😂

I've never related to Nate more than I did this week. I flew to Colorado for a work trip and brought my husband. I travel quite a bit for work and occasionally he gets to tag along but it's been awhile. I love my husband. He's my best friend and we had a wonderful time. But traveling with him was exactly like traveling with a cow headed for slaughter. The absolute cluelessness in his eyes that flickered to panic every few minutes. The unbelievable number of zipper pouches on his bag. The need to triple check every single hotel room drawer before we left even though we didn't use them. I'm going to need an emotional support animal next time he tags along just to keep me from completely losing it. You're the real hero, Nate. Don't let Baggage Claim tell you otherwise.

Actually there is a Leaf Phoenix, the brother of River Phoenix, aka Joaquin Phoenix. His siblings were named River, Rain, Liberty, and Summer. For some reason he was given Joaquin, so early in his child acting career he started going by Leaf before changing it back to his birth name. Also, their given last name is Bottom, which sounds more appropriate for Bottom Bates.

I guess, technically, we saw everyone when we flew out for the Bridgestone show, but I feel like in order to compete the grand slam you need to see everyone’s full set. I began scouring the internet - on the hunt for the ever elusive fox fur slippers - to no avail - fast forward to a few weeks before Christmas and we were walking together through a department store and he said "There they are! The fox fur slippers I want!" - low and behold - they were FAUX (spoken 'foe') FUR!!! and let me tell you - I snatched up those fox fur slippers so quick.... Thanks for making Wednesdays amazing!!!

Brian, I as a Nateland refquent factchecker, I was going to let this go, but you meantioned it several times so I am compelled to say something. You said, "Magellan 'almost' made it back to Spain." He died in the Philippines. It's barely over halfway back to Spain and a far cry from "almost." Perhaps a globe would have been a helpful prop for this episode? You did a great job with all of the other details. Overall your history is a solid B+ this episode. I'll go proofread this now.

1:34:49 Correct me if I'm wrong but it sounds like the Nateland Company has a lot of big plans in the works, one of which is spearheading the construction of a new underwater city. I wonder what they'll name it? 🤔

I was born in 1990 and as a kid I thought that comedians was people who would just talk dirty to crowds of people and they would laugh because every time my mom would see a comedian on TV she would always say they are just dirty talking men. I'm so happy all of you keep it clean.

Nate’s comment about the Wolf of Wall Street show made me think about how my mom simply cannot grasp the difference between a movie and a series. To her, if it’s available on a streaming service and doesn’t come out with weekly new episodes, then it’s automatically a movie.

This is why I love this podcast. I thought “The Meg” was just too dumb to watch, but after listening to Nate, it’s now in my queue to watch this weekend. BOTH MEGS‼️ Love you all.

Joe Zimmerman and Doug Benson sound EXACTLY the same! I listen to a lot of comedy on X FM, so I get to hear a lot of comics without actually seeing them. The other day I watched Joe on Nateland and couldn't get over how much these two sound alike.

The "Turtle Island" Dusty is thinking of is from a belief that the Earth was created on the shell of a giant turtle.

Loved you at the Boise Show!!!!! Also both your openers were stellar but not as stellar as you of course! There was a guy sitting next to us that was laughing so hard he was crying and we were all watching him laugh at one point. Also the ladies behind us were tipsy and one of them was a snorter and she peed herself! How did I know she peed? She was a loud drunk. Did I mention she was wearing plether pants. Good times!

Joe said that a continent being under water disqualifies it being a continent. I recall being taught as a grade schooler that you had to have 4 temperate zones (dessert, tropic, tundra, etc) all on the same land mass. obviously Antartica doesn't meet that qualification, and I can't remember the excuse my teach gave of why that was an exception. Does anyone else remember being taught that?

Hey bear! During the Football episode, Nate says that Vandy could easily be 7-0 going into the Georgia game…and Butterbean responds with “Or they could be 2-5”. Looks like there’s only room for one Nostradamus at the table. Love you guys and keep trucking.

Hello folks, came late to the podcast and I’m still catching up. I just listen to the episode where Aaron shared his story about the guy in one of his audiences wearing a shirt that said I just pooped. Whatever internet magic that decides what ads I see has now decided I like lowbrow bathroom humor and has given me adds for shirts that say I poop a lot and sorry I’m late my husband was pooping. I couldn’t believe it there’s no way that’s just a coincidence. 😂. They are always listening. Love the show.

Best Columbus joke! He must have been a drunk because when he left he didn't know where he was going. When he got there, he didn't know where he was and when he got back, he didn't know where he'd been.... and a woman paid for the whole trip! (Queen Isabella) of Spain
