The year is 2157, the dust settles on the barren Tennessee plains. In the distance, a man walks through the streets, small limp from his left foot. Years of science and research lead to this dystopia, and still there was no cure for his gout. He removes his bandana from his face, lifting his goggles to see he's finally reached his destination. As he enters the purple and yellow clad building, Allison on the front desk ambushes him with a barrage of words and conversation. He sighs, turns around and announces, "Not today..." as the silent genius, Aaron Weber, decides its just easier to pay the monthly payments.

When I saw the topic I thought the team would be extremely unqualified to talk about the stock market. I was pleasantly surprised that I was absolutely right. The team should go back to much easier topics like “walls” and “streets”.

Nate: "I'm not really an expert on wall street..." 5 minutes later: "Where does this money even come from?" I believe Nate's bar for "expert" may be significantly lower than everyone else's. I may be an expert in more fields than I thought. Thanks for the episodes guys, keep it up.

Watching broccoli during the intro to every episode is like watching one of those commercials for irritable bowel syndrome. First the actor is smiling without a care in the world, but then a look of worry sweeps across their face, followed by shame and humiliation. Once Nate says let's read some comments, breakfast looks like he went to an all you can eat Indian food restaurant the night before and knows what's gonna happen next. Love the podcast keep up the great work.

I recommended this podcast to a coworker of mine last week. This morning he came to work and accused me of having him listen to it just because Nate mentioned my name. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I immediately pulled out my phone and opened the most recent episode and heard you read my comment. It was everything I had hoped it would be, and more. Strangely, Nate pronounced my name perfectly the first time he said it. He then "corrected" himself and mispronounced it. It felt like all was right with the world. Tim Wiegand (pronounced Wee-gand")

I cannot get enough of this podcast. I’ve been listening to Nate’s comedy for 5 years and this is a fun inside look at other portions of each person’s life and thoughts. Also, Broccoli really needs a new website. It still says Wix at the bottom and I’d love to help him out. Aaron laughing at Nate reading the gout letter had me rolling! Keep up the amazing work!

One of the best things about this podcast is no politics. When Aaron quoted President Biden saying "Hello folks" for just a moment I held my breath because like many people, I'm sick of all the nonsense. Then Nate made a joke, Bingo chuckled, and we were off in the politics-free-zone again. Great episode fellas.

I lost it when Nate said "Tell em you have gout" the only thing that would have been more ridiculous is if Aaron would have said that to the planet fitness lady so we could hear the conversation stop dead in its tracks and the lady follow up with, "ohhkay..."

I work in the will making business and I think when people hear the term “kill switch” when planning for their death they would think “pull the plug” which is outlined in the living will by the way. Based on the meetings I have sat through, I don’t think anyone would come in the sign a kill switch. This podcast makes Wednesdays at the kill switch office more bearable. Love you guys!

I loved the point in this episode when Aaron got so fed up with trying to explain stocks to Nate that he just responded to every one of Nate's questions with alternating "mmhmm"s and "yeah"s hoping he would just stop asking. I feel like a good tagline for the podcast would be "Guys who know a little bit about something try to explain it to a guy who knows even less.". I love it every week- keep up the mediocre work.

Another missed opportunity to mention Ryan Hamilton’s bit on cancelling a gym membership!! But truly love the podcast! My favorite episodes all have the sweet spot combo where Nate goes on an unprovoked straight RANT, Aaron starts laughing so hard he can’t breathe, and Boat Ramp has some hilarious one liner that gets ignored. So more of all that, please. Great job!

My background is in finance and I have never cringed for so long as I did during this entire episode. There were a few bright points but they were few and far between. Brody had the most accurate information while Aaron came in clutch with the current events. Then there's Nate; I don't even know where to begin and it seems Nate didn't know where to begin with understanding even the most basic premises. A+ for entertainment, C- for accuracy. @btsnake
@btsnake 2 жыл бұрын
For those wondering (over a year later) the answer is no. When you buy a stock on an exchange you buy it from someone selling it. The company only gets the money when they take the company public, when they sell shares of ownership in the company for money. And those are of course stock shares. Alright I'll see myself out

Hello folks! My mom USED to go to a bank for the experience, until it crushed her soul. Every time my mom would go to a particular bank, she would be amazed at how the window person would know her name. She would say things like, "I only saw her the one time, how do they memorize so many names" and "this bank really goes out of their way to make people feel welcome" ...we would sometimes drive out of the way to go to this one specific branch, just because they knew my mom (or did they). Anyways, when I was 5 or 6, we stopped over to the bank and my mom addressed the teller by name, because she had taken it upon herself to get to know THEIR names as well. However, this time, the lady that she had seen and spoken with maybe 15-20 times did NOT address her by her first name, instead saying simply, "hiiii, how are you today?" My mom was disappointed. So, to make her feel better, I said, "oh don't worry mom, she'll see your name after you send the check through the tube." Sure enough, when the lady sent the receipt back through the tube, she said, "have a good day Anna." My mom was in disbelief and asked the lady how she knew her name and the lady said that she gets it off the driver's license (that also gets sent through the tube to verify the account). ...that was the last time we ever went to that bank. Thanks for reading this far Bankston and Diamond Hands Weber

OH.MY.GOSH. I knew this episode was funny enough to listen to a second time when my husband wanted to catch up on the Podcast this week, but I couldn't remember what it was specifically that got me. Then Weber says "kill switch" and it hits me like a punch to the gut. I reflexively start laughing hysterically as Nate asks for the first of many times, "Do you just mean a WILL?" It amazes me that it took Aaron so long to realize he was describing a will... giving him the benefit of the doubt, he may have thought Nate was saying "Wheel" the first few times and thought they were just have a debate about Aaron's choice of switch vs. wheel. "Kill wheel? No, it's definitely kill switch." In any case, this back and forth had me laughing so hard I nearly peed my pants. Thank you for these weekly fits of laughter. You guys are helping me get through postpartum/quarantine blues! Looking forward to Nate's new special come March---I'll keep my Netflix subscription until then 😉

Ryan Hamilton has a great bit in his "Happy Face" special about the only two ways he was allowed to cancel his gym membership was to go there in person or write a letter. Refusing to go in to the gym, he was forced to write a letter. Realizing he actually had no envelopes or stamps, he had to walk past his gym to get the supplies to write the letter to cancel his membership. "If anyone in this day and age makes you write a letter to cancel a membership, they are bullying you". This was all I could think of as Aaron was making the phone call. I'm really glad my lazy self never signed up for a membership in the first place

Hey guys - love you guys, love your show. when you own a stock your entitled to a small portion of the companies profits which the company will either pay you back via dividends or reinvest in the company for future profit which you’ll be entitled too. Less demand for a stock will result in the price going down and vice versa. P/E ratio which should be displayed on your app is basically the gauge for market sentiment. If you know that much your better off than most. Glad to answer any stock questions should you ever do a follow up episode!

Story about reconnecting. Me and a girl met in highschool in a homeschool co-op. We didn't really get to know each other but we knew who each other were. She eventually went to public school so we lost contact. Eight years later I was swiping on tinder and she came up. She looked cute so I swiped right. She also swiped right on me. So it was up to me to start a conversation, I was then left with...what do I say to someone I don't know? Well best I came up with was a lie, so I said "Hey, I think I know you but I don't remember what from." And she told me what and I pretended to realize it. I told her that I lied about that, a few weeks blater. She thought it was cute. We dated for a year and she dumped me. Comedy 👌🏻

I think I remember a Nate quote from a few months back... "I dont like charts. I mean, I dont really understand them..." I remembered that after screaming inside myself for Mr. Notre Dame to show Nate market depth chart to help him get a grasp on what make stocks go up and down. But hey, Valuation, IPO, Market Cap, and Float are not very complex concepts, and I dont think I heard any of those KEY words come from the ND alum... who is apparently the leader on this topic. But seriously Arron, let the listeners know what FOMO feels like, and maybe help save them some money. You guys got an episode on neurosurgery next week. Gooood Night!

Wow. Wall Street?! That’s not a title I was expecting. Nevertheless, I learned something new. Nate, Bon bon, Aaron you’ve done it again.

This is the first episode where I feel I am way more confused about the subject than before. Barney didn’t control the content as much as the last few and I felt it in my heart and head.

When making the call to cancel his Planet Fitness membership, that is still in the wrapper, Aaron displays one of the classic signs of his worsening gout. After learning that a letter was an option, he attempted to adjust the bill of the Notre Dame cap that he wasn't wearing. (21:10 mark). Tried to play it off by fingering his hair, hoping Natelanders wouldn't notice. We are a perceptive bunch and that's why we keep coming back for more. Another hilarious podcast from Nate, Aaron, and Beanbag.

I'm so conditioned to translating Nate's accent to normal English that when you said will I translated it to wheel and was extremely confused.

He should write the Planet Fitness cancellation letter in calligraphy with a feather pen & ink. And use a wax seal stamper.

There you have it folks! It took 33 episodes for us to figure out the level of topic that they should not cover. Nates conversation misdirection was at an all time high, Aaron with a record breaking amount of slightly correct facts, and Bamboozled was just that and barely spoke. I absolutely love this show. Never change and keep pushing the envelope.

Hello folks, as a college student who studies economics this episode was extremely entertaining to watch. If only a university would hire the three of you to teach some economics courses together it’d be priceless. Most economics professors in my experience have been boring and dry but Nate, Aaron, and Breakfast could really make the subject more fun. Keep up the great work!

I agree with Nate, no onion and no tomato and my brother is the same we definitely wanna try your restaurant. Also I think it would be fun to get Theo Von and Josh Wolf on the same episode. Maybe the episode could be about touring in comedy or how yall convinced people that yall are all funny haha just joking I think all 5 of you are hilarious

Thanks folks, this episode gave me shingles and flashbacks to high school econ. Maybe next week you could talk about string theory or infinity, or maybe the never-endingness of space. The amount of research Bermuda-shorts does so Nate and Aaron can comment on is impressive. Love the show guys!

If Planet Fitness is going to make people write a letter to cancel a membership it should be the most ridiculous letter of all time. Have fun with it, tell them you don’t agree with their logo due to your flat earth theory, make up an incurable disease(Chive syndrome) or the color purple makes you anxious. Just throwing that out there, later folks.

The kill switch conversation was great, but Aaron has a point. When you die, it's not all about money that would be contained in a Will. My mom recently passed away and we had to access a lot of her online accounts and we didn't have any of her passwords. When loved ones die, you need to cancel their social media accounts, cancel their credit cards, get access to their bank accounts, turn off their utilities, etc. It's not all about the money in the Will, it's a million tiny tasks that are super difficult to accomplish. The idea of the 'kill switch" would be so that when someone passes away, all of those accounts would be notified that the person died, and they should close the accounts, or at a minimum the account information and passwords would be sent to the person that was designated by the person when they were still alive.

Not calling anyone out, just saying Ryan Hamilton has a very funny joke about canceling a gym membership by weighting them a letter! Love the show, hope that works out for A-A-Ron! Shout out to Biscuits for always trying to keep the show on the rails!

A few months ago I emailed my local gym to cancel my membership and they replied “send us a letter.” To which I replied “just any kind of letter?” And they replied back with a form for me to fill out saying why I want to cancel. I’m sure that’s what the grill is supposed to be doing and not just sending a breakup letter. I still haven’t mailed in the form

I’m pretty sure Nate says the same word to describe what Aaron could invent if he went back in time as well as the document that goes into place when you hit the kill switch. Someone needs to tell him it’s “wheel” and “will”. Y’all are the best!
