HOMEMADE JELLO RECIPE BELOW.
In this video I'll show you how to make homemade jello two ways. Both kids and grownups love this as a healthy snack or light dessert. Gelatin is a good source of protein and is known for promoting healthy hair, skin and nails. Enjoy and share this video with a friend!

Homemade Jello using Gelatin
Makes 2 cups
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups of juice
1-2 TB of gelatin
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Add 1/2 cup of the juice (or water) to a bowl and sprinkle with desired amount of gelatin powder. (Using one tablespoon of gelatin results in a softer jello. Two tablespoons of gelatin gives the jello a firmer consistency.) Stir together and let this sit for 5 minutes. This is called “blooming” the gelatin. The liquid will thicken up like a slurry.
2. Pour 1 ½ cups of the juice into a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat until very hot. Add the bloomed gelatin. Stir with a fork or whisk to completely dissolve the gelatin into the juice.
3. Pour into a glass baking dish or individual dishes. Let cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for several hours or until set.
NOTE: If you want to add fruit you can do this after refrigerating the jello for at least 15 minutes.
Vegan Jello using Agar
Makes 2 cups
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups of juice
¾ teaspoon agar powder
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Place the 2 cups of juice in a medium saucepan. Add the agar powder. Stir with a fork or whisk to completely dissolve the agar powder into the juice. Heat over medium heat until almost boiling. Reduce heat to simmer on low for a few minutes, or until the juice thickens and bubbles at the edges of the saucepan.
2. Pour into a glass baking dish or individual dishes. Let cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for several hours or until set.

For the vegetarian version you used Mango Juice. Can I use any fruit juice, i.e., apple or grape? Thank you Christine.

Thanks Christine! I have a number of food sensitivities, (mostly gluten and Azo food dyes), and finding even simple things like a Jello Fruit Cup that I can eat without risking a reaction can be a challenge. Now, I'll just make my own.

Would Knox gelatin be ok to use for recipe or is it not acceptable??

It’s hard as a vegetarian to watch this. What is gelatin? You glossed right over what it actually is. A good clean snack you can feel good about giving your kids? Hmm. I appreciated the agar recipe but really couldn’t believe you then put the gelatin toppling on it! Why bother “catering” to vegetarians and then not even consistently respecting their choices?
