great stuff! , Im tempted to get this model. I built the Airfix 1/48 Lighting a few years ago and foiled it too, its not too difficult apart from the belly tank. I would love to see it done. One thing to note about the kit is the incorrect shape of the spine, it should be straight from the canopy hinge point to the tail, not kinked. Its a relativley simple fix. Once seen it's really something that stands out badly but almost nobody fixes it.

Mate, you are a very busy Boy ! Amazed how you manage to build these things, produce videos and deal with outside life, all at the same time. 👏That Front fuselage section looks magnificent ! 🤩. Just a reminder , if you're not already aware, but the"Tail Cone" section is also Metal. In regard to the Black" line" detail on this section, if you have any spare 48th scale "wing walk " decals laying around these can provide an easy solution if you want to avoid masking and painting them in. I did a similar thing with leftover 72nd scale Spitfire wing walk decals on my " Braille Scale " version of this kit and I thought it worked quite well. Looks like it's coming together quite smoothly so far, and you've still got that lovely Jupiter Radial to build and detail to look forward to. 😃 Watching on with great pleasure and anticipation. 👍😀🍻

Cheers Dean. Video has no impact on building at all really and got my head round basic video editing so it’s quite easy to produce them. It’s a fun build so far. I need a seat ration from the Spit for a while

Fascinating application, I think you might have solved a problem over 60 years old. Back in the late 50's early 60's HAWK made about 6 kits and all the parts were chrome even the crew. Hawk was trying to duplicate the all metal look. . Every sprue was chrome. I built the T33 and it look good from the side. However the only problem was when you put the fuselage together, you couldn't fix the seam lines just had to accept it. The kits didn't stay on the market long. Watching your video I wished I'd kept a few of those kits, I bet your foil technique would work.

Never heard of HAWK kits, they sound interesting. I was first involved with foiling back in the 70's when my father and I used to glue it on with varnish, a coat on the foil and a coat on the model. When it was nearly dry it was tacky enough to act as a contact adhesive. The new glue available makes the process a lot easier. I sure didn't invent the technique but I do try to constantly develop it.

@@RichardsModellingAdventures unfortunately HAWK is no longer around I don't remember who " bought them out". However , I think the last attempt to keep this chrome series going was issued around 1967. There are some on eBay but I'm not sure if their chrome process hasn't faded over the years I do remember that " sticky glue process" you mentioned. It might be interesting to get a kit and try your new process on it.. I might give it a go if they are not to high priced. The kits were 1/48 and I remember there was a T33, a Bearcat, Mig 15, F84 P47D and P51. If the chrome is still good matching the foil might not work and enamel paints were the only paint to get any coverage. Still, it might be worth a try.
