Nature Journal Update

This is a Nature Journal/Junk Journal using classification folders. They are nice because the expand a lot and there are a lot of configuration options even if you don't have your own binding machine. ... I think these folders would work great for kids artwork because you can take things out and move them around easily and there's a lot of expansion room for all their drawings.

I love this idea. You have put a lot of time into this, but these are memories of your neck of the woods which can be handed down to generations. Wherever you live, you must have lots of critters.

I love how this journal turned out, this is so genius. Thank you for sharing this I'll be keeping my eye out for these folders. I live in Guam so I'm limited to a couple of thrift stores. I just think this is such a clever way to make a journal. 💞💫

I made one very similar to this, I like the parts you have done different in yours by using the prongs on the side and adding the folders to the folds on the larger folder system. I created signatures and sewed them on to the folds. Quite a bit more tricky lol. Very cool collection of wildlife around you. I need to do the same with all my pictures :)

I love this - I've used classification folders to organise the endless documents my husband and I must keep track of, being in the medical field - I'm going to try and adapt your idea for keeping track of my correspondence (pen pals). Thanks!

I really love this book. It reminds me of "Diego's" animal science journal. My son has wanted to do something like this for a long time, and i had tried other ideas, but after showing him this video hecwants one just like it. So excited to get it started, and by how much room there is to keep expanding it. Great problem solving!

I don't have a binder, and haven't really wanted to get one. Such an easy alternative.

Angela-Love this journal type. Inspired to make one for a friend for their Canada Cabin. Mine is legal size and challenging-Wondered though as it gets chunkier -if you had any trouble with binding and the weight it held on gussets straining? What would you suggest to strengthen it? Thanks for all the great Vids!

Do these classification folders come acid-free? This is SO CLEVER!! I love it!

Hmmm, I don't know if they have acid free ones or not. You can always try spraying them with the archival spray? Then you could use archival papers and products on the inside. In most of my scrapbooks I use acid free products but for my "junk" journals anything goes, so I never really looked into it. Hope you give it a try!
