One of my favorite places to fish right near the Strathmere bridge... looking to launch at corsons for the first time in my boat...great video...for helping me understand..from above....still haven't figured how the trucks get on the beach...

Nice video Jim. Interesting discussion of the charts, on the water and aerial views. Did you shoot the aerial views on the same day as the sailing footage?

Thanks for the comment. The aerial views were collected a few days prior to the sail with near zero wind and very calm (thus the reason I was not sailing ;-) The day of the sail the winds were blowing strong out of the NNW at 15-20 mph with higher gust (thus you will see the sail reefed in a fair bit, especially in the Atlantic Ocean). The dail of the sail the shoaling areas were a bit more active in Corson Inlet but the ocean swells were small. This inlet can be spicy when the ocean swells get over 4-6 feet....

By the way, I live near Princeton NJ and sail a Hobie Revolution 13 mostly lakes but want to get an Adventure Island Tandem someday.

I used to own the Hobie Rev 13 and used a small sail with it. Very unstable. I sold it and move up to the Hobie Adventure Island. Sold it after 1 year and bought the Hobie Tandem Island ... love it and highly recommend it...very stable.

Thanks, good to know. I agree about the Revo and sailing. I use the pontoons but confine to low wind days. Dreaming of that AI Tandem.

It is worth it to move up to the TI (game changer). Hobie stopped making the AI.... still find a few used.

Very nice video again! Do you by any chance have a video showing your back camera mount and how your rollers are attached between the aka´s, looks really brilliant! All the best from Sweden!

A few of my videos show the stern. I have installed s simple star port and place a camera on a short 3' pole looking forward. As for the rollers, I use simple bungie cord to attach the roller between the two Aka arms. The roller has a simple stainless steel eye bolt at each end.

Hello. Very nice video. 2 questions, 1.) what is the drone you use for aerial footage? 2.) I notice you have trapezes but they were not deployed. Why? Thinking wind resistance but maybe other reason. Thanks again!

Aerial video and stills were collected mostly from my drone dji mini3 pro (I have a commercial drone pilot license) and from my kite (kite aerial photography KAP). The aerial videos were collected a few days prior to the sail when there was no wind and minor shoaling waves. As for the trapezes....when sailing solo (which I do a majority of the time) I generally do not use the trapeze. When sailing with more than one person (2-4) or with my dogs I use the trapeze. Wind and wave resistance does play a minor role but not major.
