Wow man, you have to admire the courage of Marquice Walker. Kalispell may have lost, but that guy showed some cajones. I haven't seen that type of resiliency since I saw Rich Gannon keep chuck up five interceptions all while getting hit every time he dropped back to pass in the Super Bowl. The Warhawks defense got carved up like Jack O' Lanterns today, man. Eastern Michigan could've run Z 44 Cannon Coconut Zippie Smoothie Comet Balloon fifty times in a row, and the Warhawks wouldn't have been able to stop it. If they ever need a mascot, I hear the Michelin Man is available. I tell ya, that guy looks like a really inflated version of those tube guys at car dealerships. Wow man, now that just blew my mind.

What happened in this game is why I hate NCAA 14 sometimes. Some plays are just so unfair and cheap. It also doesn't help when the QB breaks out of a sack and launches it down field to his receiver coming back to it perfectly. The Kalispell defense played bad, but when a QB has like 3 incompletions and isn't even rated that high, it's the game.

This game just shows you what I meant when I said Kalispell's on the way to .500 football. They're better, but they're still not a quality opponent - not yet, anyway. Eastern Michigan ran away with the win today because Kalispell's defense has no speed. The fastest guys on the defense right now aren't exactly ready to play and I'm not sure activating Malcolm Tyson will fix anything when his tackling is suspect. Although I could argue he'd be an asset on obvious passing downs due to his coverage ability, it's not like you'll get that option when most teams in college utilize the hurry-up no huddle offense. That means you have to openly deal with corners who can't tackle, and I'm not sure I would personally deal with that this season. Playmaking ability will be improved next season, but in the here and now, Kalispell needs a blend of athleticism and hard-hitting - the same recipe that made the Minnesota Gophers in your last dynasty become a national championship flavor pick. That's going to take multiple seasons to build, but scoring at least ONE blue-chip prospect will go a long way toward improving the defense and making Kalispell a more attractive location for athletes. It can happen and it is possible - Kalispell landed two four-star recruits this past offseason, so there's no reason to think this is out of the question. To me, the defense HAS to be the priority for recruiting. The offense still has issues, but at some point, you can't get by with a powerhouse offense when your defense is a complete dumpster fire (HINT HINT, MICKEY LOOMIS. [/saintsfanwhoknowswe'rescrewedifdrewbreesgetshurt]) I do agree that the defense needs to see some new players. I'd start by benching Dante Clark - every other play I've seen over the past few seasons where a corner gets burned or misses an assignment, nine times out of ten it's been Clark. Jared Merritt, I can understand decreasing his role, but if he's still your best lineman based on pure talent, I'd still roll the dice on him. The front seven needs all the help it can get, especially in the trenches. James Watson is literally going to be your only valuable player once Calhoun graduates. Kalispell has its future safeties (Seriously, Kelly Jean Charles is going to be the white Earl Thomas. He's going to be a stud once he becomes the full time starter.) and promising corners (that need to learn to tackle), but now it needs a quality man in the middle along with quality starters to line up in the trenches. This can't be pinned on Starks as the play-caller, this comes down to recruiting. Kalispell needs big additions for the defense just as it's had big additions for the offense and they need to happen NOW. Oh, and by the way: That underneath pass to Jacoury Daye from JR Battle? Get used to seeing that - because I feel good about Battle's chances of unlocking Daye's potential as a speed threat when he becomes the starter. That spin was dirty and I feel that pinpoint placement like THAT from Battle is going to make Daye a pleasure to watch with the ball in his hands.

In hindsight, Cane tried to warn us this was coming if you read between the lines. I wondered why he was raving so much about the EMU offense at the end of the last vid.

Always run a 5-3 zone against the option that will also protect deep balls and across the middle. Then spread linebackers. Works like a charm.

Walker couldn't catch a break today. He got hurt, got sacked, and couldn't complete a pass for a little while. Can't put the loss on him though. The O line played like they were in high school. There was a lot of pressure even when there were only 3 pass rushers sent.

Coach needs to recruit some coverage linebackers because their current ones couldn't cover twin sized bed with a king sized blanket. It doesn't help that they kept running corner routes with nobody in a buzz zone. At 20:08 Cane missed an EZ touchdown. Side note: how about that Heisman CPU quarterback play am I right? 18/19 in the first half for 3 TDs and over 200 yards or something like that.

I would try to focus on quicker hitting runs, the spread sweeps require longer pulls and for lineman to hold blocks for a longer amount of time. Until you are able to bolster the O-Line I would use simpler runs to make it easier on your backs and lineman

I think you should try and put Antone Slater on the outside in 2 WR formations, but still in the slot against 3 WRs.

Look for the 4wr shotgun formation that has the HB dive play. You're guaranteed to have running room on that play

This game should have been a win. You punt on almost every 4th and short. If you're going to scramble, don't bother trying to keep the pass play alive and just pick up yards. If you're going to throw, throw it almost instantly.

I know I wasn't the only one who saw that at 9:44. Both the D-line and O-line were horrendous. Just terrible play by those units. Walker was worse than last week, and wasn't great, but he got crushed this game so it's not his fault entirely.

What I don't understand is why you play zone defense. It never seems to work. Also become a more run heavy offense. You have a running QB that is not very accurate. Use Walker, Hawthorne, and Sheridan on most plays with an occasional pass.
