Your design element is something unique and cool Ray. I love the Jethro squares. I got the yarn I like as my winter project for the Jethro sweater. My friend in college in the 70s had a similar sweater I loved so now I will have one. I also love the blankets. Great podcast.

Ray, your cardigan fits you so well and looks great on you, it’s both casual and dressy. Also, I screamed when I saw the June Woolens and Nosh colorway. This month is my first time in the club and those are all my favorite colors. I ran to my mailbox to get my package. It was great to be able to admire the yarn as you were talking about it. I watch a ton of knitting KZfaq channels, but yours goes right to the top of my queue.

I am crocheting/knitting a granny square pullover sweater for my friend's 2 year old granddaughter. Light orchid and sunshine yellow Big Twist yarn from Joannes with an H hook. I use Bates and Boyd Crochet Hooks. Ray...Lighting candles and sending good vibes for you to finish your Dad's sweater. Lol. Buy the kit, Kevin. I love all of your makes. I have a mistake in mine as well. It is around the waist. I figure it is a design feature to separate from the chest and the bottom of the sweater. On the last band. My husband is excited to get this sweater.

Hello! I am pretty new to your podcast, but am enjoying it quite a bit. I am a yarn spinner and work with raw wool quite often. Dawn/dish soap can damage wool on a molecular level. It is meant to get rid of proteins (cleaning food, oil, ect). Since wool is a protein fiber it can weaken and mess with the integrity of the fiber, especially if used with hot water. I would suggest Unicorn Power Scour if you want to get remaining lanolin out of non-superwash wool. There are other scours on the market, but I have had the best results with Unicorn. Even with higher temperatures, unicorn is phenomenal and my wool has never been damaged by it. I hope you are able to find a way that works for you! The properties of non superwash wool are amazing and it would be wonderful to see more of it on the market so more people have access to it. Have a lovely weekend!

Hi boys another great post thank you I feel your frustration Ray my son is also colour blind with certain colours, yes Kevin I would get the kit for the jumper but it looks very complicated it would totally stress me out to knit it but it would look stunning, especially with those beautiful blue eyes of yours, stay safe look after each other would love to come to America and see all these wonderful yarn shows we get nothing really like that here in the UK we don't even have many decent yarn shops here in the North East of England where I live such a shame take care love Julie xxxxx

I own it the book and the kit . The yarn (Marie Wallin’s Aran) is gorgeous. And it’s easy to convert to knit in the round.

If the Wallin kit is made from Wallin yarn: do it! She is a genius at picking colors that work and creating those colors. It's the difference between loving colors in the skein when they're held together and knowing how they will blend and pop in stranded colorwork. Gorgeous test-knit, Ray! Absolutely yes, Kevin! Knit the sweater. AND you can adjust it to knit most of it in the round. With that much colorwork, knitting in the round would be so much easier.

Kevin- your jethro colors are excellent (perfectly vintage mariners colors, especially if you’re planning to go to a ballgame while you’re in Seattle). Tons of fun yarny and non-yarny adventures to be had in the PNW, especially if you’ll have a car- ferry ride to a fun yarn store/speakeasy comes to mind.

Went on an Alaskan cruise last September, tripped over the threshold from the balcony 10 min in and broke 4 ribs one of them twice. Refused to go to medical for 2 days and was in horrible pain the whole trip

I use clover amour and tulip etimo crochet hooks when I do crochet. The etimo I use are not the square thin flat ones. Love them both best! To knit I am team chiagoo and the mindful collection circulars.

Yes, Kevin, you should make the Marie Wallin sweater. Her designs are beautiful and you'd look great in that one. Ray, your Old Fashioned sweater is gorgeous, love how you made a mistake into very nice design element. It definitely works. Have fun at the Trunk Show. I wish I still lived near Mt Kisco.

Always fun to hear what you two are up to. I have also been contemplating on whether to make a Marie Wallin Sweater Kevin. I would have to knit it in the round. It would be fun to pick out all the colours and I'm sure its not difficult because you are probably only using two colours...maybe three at one time. They are beautiful. Kevin, I love the Marie Wallin sweater, but keep in mind that if it is knit in pieces , you will be doing colorwork on the purl side as well as the knit side. I’ve been thinking of one of those patterns ,too. I think I would try to convert it to knitting in the round and make steeks for the armholes. But seriously, Yikes!

Just waited for the official start....like a post on the board. Of COURSE, you then mention WIPs are ok. 🙄 Love the "personalization" on the sweater Ray, it's YOU!! Let's hope Max is as forgiving!! 😉 Yes Kevin!! Do the sweater!! Central California, its supposed to be 106°F today!! 🥵 I'm gonna sit inside and knit (once daily chores are done). Kevin, the colors in your crochet may not have intended to be Ukraine colors but they are and how lovely. Both crochet sweaters color combos are gorgeous. Btw, I just finished a sweater from the Cumbria book by Marie Wallin. I left out the colorwork as my son lives in another state and I'm just trying to get the fit right. (I made a fail last year that was too small and fit his wife. Hard to fit someone 2,000 miles away.) I found the instructions, uh, interesting and a bit difficult to understand compared to US patterns. I purchased the Sycamore arm warmers pattern on Ravelry which I'm working on now just so I can see how changing colors so often is going to be. Also, I believe Kim from Kim and Jonna knit a Marie Wallin cardigan so you might get in touch with her (or someone who's knit Wallin patterns) to ask about difficulty and such. Oh and it might help to know that the model in the picture is 6'4". Good luck and thanks for another entertaining show!! ❣

Your sweater looks great Ray and you would think it’s part of the pattern with both sleeves having the same “happy accident “ and that’s why I don’t like knitting moss stitch which is what we call that stitch in England.
