They were supporting Windies because the match was played against Pakistan otherwise nobody cheered for westindies when they knocked India out of tournament in their own home in semifinal.

When Pakistan lifted the cup it looked like who,r stadium was dead. 1982 Asian games final hockey Delhi kaand their pm ran away in the middle of match when Pakistan scored their fourth goal. No appreciation for opposition. Winning and losing is part of game but they have no sportsmanship spirit. When Pakistan beat kiwis in their own home in semifinal 1992 they were clapping for Pakistan.

This tournament is unfortunately quite under discussed. It was as big as the World cup in those days. Six top teams playing against each other before the semis. Had there been an ICC tournament title in those days this tournament surely must have got it.

There were reasons for it. They wanted to take wickets before last over. Pak resisted. Secondly in India under these conditions you always fancy spinners. Thirdly his confidence as a bowler was high in this tournament. He took 6 wickets against India.

Pathetic batting by Imran Khan. What should have been an easy going as after 46 overs Pakistan needed 28 in 4 overs but made it so hard that in the end Pakistan needed a boundary to get to the target. Waseem Akram duly obliged by hitting a six off the first ball he faced.

@@arslanMCL, he was egomaniac and thought himself as some kind of supermen. He ruined a lot of careers during his captaincy tenure. Always downplayed our batters performances and rated others better than our own. Salim Malik who was constantly scoring runs but he never liked him. Maindad backbone of our batting never got credit. He took all credit by himself.
