This is a review of my initial impressions of my new Neje Max 4 Diode laser. I am coming from an earlier Neje laser, the max 2, so I was familiar with the company and their style of work.
Overall, I am very happy with the laser. It is a huge upgrade in speed and power output over my previous laser. I also really like the motorized z axis. I wasn't able to get Lightburn to work through typing in the material thickness, but as long as I set the z-offset in the materials list I can get it to work just fine.
My next project is to hook up a more effective air assist on it so I can improve my cuts and make sure the laser lens stays clean.
