This song composed by the bassist Haraguchi-san and lyrics by guitarist Hazuki, with influenced by Arabic melodies. It highlights the ability of their most experienced member of the band, the Japanese drums goddess, Murata Tamu, as a very serious powerhouse on drums. In this song, instead of guitar solos as their normal song would be, Haraguchi-san imagined to have Tamu playing couple of traditional percussion instruments since she knew Tamu's percussion knowledge and ability. However, upon receiving the midi, immediately Tamu got to work and submitted two drum lines, one was just like her normal days at work and the other was more intense with extra fills and solo. Haraguchi-san was very impressed and during the recording rehearsals, SAKI decided to try and incorporate Tamu's second options and further arrangement made them fully opted for Tamu's intense drumming. Just listen to how hard she goes after her drum solo section with intense fills and harmonic beatings in the rest of the rhythm sections all the way towards the end. Now let's dig deeper on who is this drums goddess, whose real name is Ai Murata (stage name Murata Tamu). In 2007, she started as jazz drummer at the early age of 15 in high school and received guidance from a very well established session drummer, Masahiko Noguchi at Saila Drum School (now Tamu is also one of the lecturers at that school). Tamu continue her drumming activities after graduated from high school and in 2011 she joined a pop band Grizzly on the Planet (GP) but surprisingly, as a keyboardist. In 2013 she joined a girls band SORAMIMI as a drummer. During this very early period of her musical carrier, she was already playing two different instruments professionally for two different bands, a feat that is rarely to be seen. She graduate from university in 2015, the same year she won the best female drummer award in the voting project My Goddess 2015 by BEEAST - Living with Rock, Lifestyle Support Magazine. In the same voting project that year, SAKI, guitarist from Mary's Blood and her soon-to-be band mate that time, won the best female guitarist award category. In 2016, SORAMIMI released an album that includes the song 'Paralle Line', which is the first song composed and written by Murata Tamu. She also signed her first endorsement contract with TAMA Japan that year. She left GP in 2016 and eventually SORAMIMI suspended in 2017. Year 2017 was a time when her carrier in drumming started to pick up drastically. She held her first drum solo performance in February 2017 and it was a completely sold-out solo drumming concert at the TSUTAYA O-Crest live music venue. She joined the INSPION group (a project led by Takeshi Kuramochi and Daisuke Kurosawa for corporate sound production company) as a session drummer and becoming one of the prominent member of the group, considered as one of the staff member at the company in-charge of the drums. The group mostly do sounds production for games and movies and in free time, they get together doing cover songs of X JAPAN among other projects and she is still active with the group until now (2021). She released her self-produced DVD titled Murata Tamu's Hyper Drum Training in April 2017. She won the best female drummer award category again, in the voting project My Goddess 2017 of BEEAST magazine award. This time, SAKI was in 2nd place for the best female guitarist award category. In May 2017, she held her second solo live concert at TSUTAYA O-West and invited Japan's infamous drummer, Nyango Star as her guest. She appeared again at the same venue in September 2017 to mark the release of her self-produced EP titled INNOCENT with four original songs, one of which she also sings. She appeared in NAONのYAON (yearly event organized by legendary Japan's all female metal band, SHOW-YA) every year since 2017. She was also one of the supporting drummers in SAKI's World Guitar Girls Collection (WGGC) project where in NAONのYAON, Tamu was the drummer behind WGGC show since 2017. She is very active with her drumming activities such as holding drum seminars at vocational schools, musical instrument stores, and Drum Clinic Tour in China. She is also one of the drummer support for idol group The World Standard (WASUTA) and many other successful artists. She regularly appeared on the national music information TV 'MUSIC BB'. She host her own variety show Tamu Zukan, where she invites, learns, explores other drummers' skill set and also about various musical instruments. In January 2018, Tama Drumsticks H-TMTM, Mutata Tamu signature model hits the market. She held another live concert at TSUTAYA O-West in February 2018 for the commemoration the release of her single titled Super D&D Completely Lead Aimaimi | D Zettai! SAMURAI-In-The-Rain, featuring Ladybeard, an Australian stunt actor, professional wrestler and ex-vocalist of Deadlift Lolita and Ladybaby. In March 2018, she was invited as a guest drummer for Naka-Kon event in Kansas City, USA. It is an annual three-day convention, celebrating anime, manga, cosplay, music, fashion and gaming. In mid 2018, she held her 5th installment of her solo live concerts at two venues, OSAKA MUSE and Shibuya WWW-X, celebrating her entering into 10 years of professional drumming. By 2019, she already had 6 live solo concerts under her belt with the latest one was held in January 2019 at TSUTAYA O-West again. In August 2019, she was invited to perform in Mayu Session band by vocalist, Mayu and bassist, Haraguchi-san who were high school friends and just quit their bands, LIPSTICK and HöLDERLINS respectively. At that time, they were still looking for guitarist so she asked SAKI (Mary's Blood & AMAHIRU guitarist, ex-Destrose) to introduce anyone who might be available since SAKI got connections through her WGGC project. If Tamu herself is playing, SAKI wouldn't miss the opportunity to return the favour to Tamu (remember that she is the prominent drummer for SAKI's WGGC project) by being there herself. SAKI bring along her friend Hazuki (Disqualia guitarist) since Disqualia activities was put on hold and Hazuki that time only supporting Li-sa-X project as a session guitarist (later in 2020, Li-sa-X Band was formed with Hazuki as permanent member). Mayu Session band performed at live venue and they hits of immediately eventhough its the first time they played together and some members didn't know each other before. They had lots of fun together and thought this is what they are looking for individually - technical superiority asides, a tight band and fun friends. So after that one session ends, they decided to stay together and make their quintet permanent, which is now known as the NEMOPHILA. In September 2019, she announced in her social media "I became a drummer of NEMOPHILA. Thanking you in advance. I'm glad I met some nice friends and I'll hit them with my soul." ...and she did hit them hard as the band grew tighter every day, in line with the growth of their local and international fan base. SAKI, the leader of the band and also the composer for Mary's Blood said "I write songs for NEMOPHILA too, but there is also a composer team, so we compose the songs at the same time and give every member the midi’s. Tamu has had the longest career of the band, so she always makes her own fills by herself." She got much respect from SAKI even before WGGC & NEMOPHILA since both of them top their categories in 2015 BEEAST goddess award and Tamu did it again in 2017. Miki 'mittan' Tsunoda, the drummer of legendary Japanese metal band SHOW-YA also seen paying respect to Tamu during her time-off giving birth. Mittan appeared in NEMOPHILA line ups and supporting them covering two SHOW-YA songs, taking the drummer's place while honouring Tamu by wearing the frog t-shirt which is Tamu's trademark shirt. Another legendary drummer did the same was Kyoko Tomita from rock band Princess Princess while NEMOPHILA did their cover song. A respect from legendary Japanese drummers really shows how big her reputation is. In October 2019, Tamu signed another endorsement contract with MEINL cymbals. She is now using TAMA Silverstar (Jet Blue Burst) and MEINL cymbals in her studio. In February 2020, NEMOPHILA secured their first ever one-man show at Shibuya REX and the tickets sold out instantly after the announcement. This show, however, not featuring all NEMOPHILA original line-ups because Tamu was on maternity leave. Again, in her place, the legendary mittan of SHOW-YA made an appearance covering for her. The other scheduled NEMOPHILA show after that was cancelled due to the pandemic. She had played in Roland Boss Player Summit 2020 to wrap up Roland's Junior Drums Competition in which she was one of the judges that time. In 2021, she again took part in NAONのYAON but officially as NEMOPHILA drummer, plus filling in for Gacharic Spin (their drummer Yuri was pregnant at that time) so she isn't part of SAKI's WGGC. Later that year, she welcomed another member of her family and she is now a mother of two. In January 2022, NEMOPHILA appeared in one-man show for the first time featuring all original members including the drums goddess, Tamu. In that show, they performed a song LIFE as finale, which was a very special song they performed for Tamu during one of their live streaming event, celebrating Tamu's return to the line ups after maternity leave. This time around, it is very emotional for mayu seeing all the band members around her managed to pull off this one-man show with her and she broke into tears eventually. Before their final bow, SAKI and Tamu, being the oldest members of the band approached mayu and gave her a hug with gentle stroke on her hair like a mother's gesture. She is a lovely person who always look after the band members as her own little sisters especially her rhythmic partner Haraguchi-san.

Wow! Thanks for all that background info I didn't know. I have been a fan of Murata-san since I saw her with Inspion a few years ago and was very happy to see she was drummer for Nemophila when I first discovered them near the beginning of their presence on KZfaq. They seem to double their goodness every few months, and between the talent and competence of each as a musician (singer) and their personalities as individuals and as a unit, it's hard not to admire and love this band!

Just think Mayu got them together to record some covers as audition demos as she was looking for a new band. They clicked as a band. They liked each other with the plus of liking playing together. So from covers, worth reacting too, to original songs. Hoping we will see them the US soon. "Monsters" should be next, a different Mayu plus Tamu is awesome!

NEMOPHILA played their pocket Ace...HARAGUCHI-SAN crushed this. From the composition, the base line, to her harmonization vocals...smash hit. Absolute banger that puts the rhythm section front and center. Agree, this on the CD is much fuller. You mentioned the drum line, I think the very best version to date of this was when they debuted it for the very first time on their 2nd Anniversary Live Stream event. TUMU went freaking ballistic on that one. So glad they kept that heavier drum line in this...completes it perfectly. 🌸✨🌠

I was going to beg and beg and beg that you react to this song and silly me, you already had. I'm writing this before I watch your entire video so I am uber excited to see how you react. Love you guys! So I watched your reaction and I agree about the compression. Man I would love to hear this live. It's my favourite Nemophila song. I like the versatility that Mayu has in her voice and her screams are actually perfect for her and me and as a listener because I can actually understand what she is singing. I have to give you a tsk tsk though. There's a little bass guitar lick that you talked over. Naughty naughty lol. I love everything about this video, especially the look. Mayu's dancing, the hair twirls from them (if you look in the back Tamu is doing it also. Not often seen from the drummer).

Regarding the harsh vocals, it's something I've never been a huge fan of. I grew up conscious of bands like Death, Carcass, Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, etc. and have heard a lot of growl vocals over the years. For the most part, it all sounds the same to me. There's some variation and nuance here and there, but it tends to blend together for me. However, there's three exceptions to this where it sounds distinct and where I can listen to it at any time: Nemophila, Unlucky Morpheus, and Jinjer.

@@Oedwak Great call on Hana. I'd also add (and sticking to the J-metal scene): Regan from Saiseiga and Remi from Orochi (formerly RagDollz). Both are mixed style vocalists who seem to know when and where to incorporate the death voice. Another much-missed "fry screamer" (who also growls) is a.k.i. from the now-defunct TELECiDE. Truly unique and articulate screamer.

It is beyond my understanding that one who already noticed the similarity watch the reaction videos to it then see how they reacted and if they like the song, feel the responsibility to mention the flaws (well, not flaws but you know what I meant) in it, which I supposed sending a message that the songs shouldn't be appreciated as it is. Well, I guess you heard of Metallica (Sad But True) vs Avenged Sevenfold (This Means War) or Ministry (Just One Fix) vs Rammstein (Du Hast) and many more countless examples of riffs that sound alike, almost the same, and sometimes even completely the same including Led Zeppelin (Dazed and Confused) and Black Sabbath (Paranoid) ...but I guess nobody caught this? Oh and I bet you never went to those songs reactions and stated their similarities don't you? Nevertheless, as the songs mentioned and many other that have similar or identical riffs, its not straight up copycat 100% same song with different lyrics whatsoever. Needless to say, both HYPNOSIS and IN THE NAME OF GOD are great songs so why just enjoy one if you can have two variants? Hmmmm....

@@OvDevilz I don't have any respect for blatant copy cats but it doesn't matter to you. A little thing called musical integrity. I was discussing the "similarities" between two songs here and you think I should list all similar songs ever? What kind of idiot reasoning is that???? Never mind, I already know.
@OvDevilz
@OvDevilz 2 жыл бұрын
@@tommcfall1274 i am not asking you to list anything, I am just giving you another example for the thing you just mentioned, which you might overlooked or knew but didn't bother stating the obvious. Well there are over billions of songs out there but there are only finite tones our ear could comprehend and the integrity you mentioned might be true to you but have you ever listened to all the tunes that is available in the whole world from all the times to decide the original tones? Or perhaps we just accept it as it is since we never heard of the other similar tone that might exist which only that composer knew of? That is my point actually. One song could be a results of a merger of (already existed) three or four different segments on which in each segments there are similarities but the additional harmonics and extra layers of elements made it sounds different, does it count as genuine composition and have the integrity? To those who don't know the source, yes, otherwise, no. And writing completely original music is not an easy task. It’s almost impossible to make a new song that’s at the same time catchy and likable and has a chord progression or at least a part a melody that you never heard before. I am a guitarist and once I was out jamming with my band while we all were a bit high and we decided to play When I Come Around by Green Day. I am leading the rhythm and they all follow my beat, we started well, or so we thought, until the vocalist about to sing and he asked us to stop. We did and he asked, why are we playing Good by Better Than Ezra? We are not but since we were a bit high, we didn't noticed the slower tempo we were in until the vocalist felt something is not right. I never cared to noticed the same chords progression on those songs until that happened. So, even though the number of combinations is insanely large, people tend to use same or similar stuff over and over again. Its just how you arrange the music and make it your own. So a noticable differences and similarities is just how we look at it. Perhaps this would help you understand more kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eqeTnblnlbjSgqs.html

Oh and I forgot to mentioned that I am just stating the obvious. Thus I wonder why you sounds so mad about it on your reply because not me or anyone, not NEMOPHILA, not BLACK SABBATH, not METALLICA, or anyone even asked for your respect or anything. However they surely hope you enjoy their music, and if you don't like them, just move on and look for something you like... or you respect? I don't know... just listen to whatever you want. I don't care which and neither did they but surely I want you to enjoy yourself with music you like, and they too would surely be happy for you if you do that.
