Your Fantasy Goblets look Beautiful, purple goblet - undead, nature goblet - druid, fancy goblet, stone goblet - earth. If I had enough supplies and use one of my mom's old wine glasses and turn them into goblets of chalice that would be an epic challenge for my creative skills. I still love your potion bottle's they both came out Beautiful , 1.Gaia's Tears potion 2. Mana potion If you had a purple (resin or epoxy) gem and turn it into a Sacred Witches Power Potion for Spells and Magic that would go excellent with the witches book. I love both the potion bottles, think of the first potion bottle a very ancient potion that only the sorcerers of life magic only prepare from a sacred landmark. Mana- pervasive supernatural or magical power - a concept of a life force, believed to be seated in the head, and associated with high social status and ritual power. A spiritually powerful, influential and courageous, yet humble. Sorry the brown leftover epoxy trash didn't work I'm sure it'll still be useful give it a new color and maybe turn it into a dragon scale or a earth gem attached to the front cover of an earth tome, or an earth potion that tells time and space like a sands of time from an hourglass. Here's my suggestion about the epoxy resin.. SAND IT. Not just the rough grade, but you have to go up in grit until your basically just buffering the thing. Make the scratches super thin, then finish it with a polishing paste. That's the best way to get clear epoxy. Just keep rising in grits until you get to like.. 3000 grit or 5000 grit. Then you put polishing paste, rub it in and get rid of the excess. Those lines and drippies from adding the epoxy on top? Just sand them to a very fine grit then polish them. Wet sanding helps too! Also, if you want to get rid of any bubbles, either heat or a pressure pot. You COULD use a vacuum chamber, but I've seen that mess with resin before. A pressure pot(about 30psi I believe) will make the bubbles super tiny. Or, you can use a heat gun/lighter to pop surface bubbles. I see those used for thinner projects though, not... epoxy blocks. You can still try the sandpaper thing. Thats your best chance at a clean finish. Check out dice makers or epoxy resin workers here on youtube, a lot of them use sandpaper. Some people commented micromesh, yeah that too! Just super fine grit, because the smaller the scratches the better Hopefully once the Virus is cured we can finally get the tome of water up and ready, keep up the incredible work NerdForge. :)

Nerdforge I know this might be basic, but considering that your resources are perhaps limited I thought it’s be interesting: I’d like to see you make a notebook from recycled materials! I have recently gotten into making recycled paper and used some of your book binding videos to figure out how to make a book, however, your books are so big and grand and there’s no way I could afford doing something like that; but I’m still super interested in book binding and like making little simple notebooks out of my recycled paper. I simply wonder how you would manage to do it and probably mostly how you would decorate it! Much love from Denmark - håber i hygger i karantæne 😝✌🏼

Just a tip for the next time you're doing this: Put some Fimo Liquid (it's exactly what is says, liquid polymer clay) on the glass where you want the black polymer clay to go, this way the Fimo will stick to the glass better and not come off as easily. However, thank you for this nice and wholesome video, made my evening 10000 times better! It's just so soothing to see you craft.

@@falcychead8198 You apply the liquid Fimo first, then the regular polymer clay (without baking it in between). Just be careful with the amount of liquid Fimo you're using, if you use too much, the regular Fimo might not stick and slide off the glass instead.

The first few things you make might not be the best, but the crappy art project is better than no art project in my opinion. As an added plus, the glasses they’re making don’t use as much specialized supplies or knowledge as some of their other projects. Hope y’all try it💙🎨

If you ever retry this or do anything else where you have to stick polymer clay to different surfaces I would suggest using bake and bond or liquid clay. It’s basically polymer clay glue. Amazing, love it! Advice from experienced clayer to anyone who would like to make these: use Liquid Fimo if you're working with glass. Just brush liquid Fimo over the glass, where you'd like your design to be (just like glue), and bake for 1 hour at 125 degrees Celsius, no matter which brand of clay you use. This way polymers bind much better.

This isn't a plague. The numbers aren't nearly that bad. It is a bit worse then the flu, but that is about it. Numbers in most countries are inflated as not enough people are being tested. And even if some folks die to this disease, they could have died from something else as well in most cases...

@@amara560 I am very much aware that it isn't the same. I am part of the group of people who already warned about this virus in januari. In fact I am what you call a prepper. Back then I was a strong advocate for containment, but China failed us. Now that the virus is out of control and it is out of control, I say let it do its thing. Even if the worst happens we will still end up with billions of humans who end up surviving this thing. As for time to research. I am not seeing it being used properly right now. Lack of testing worldwide means less accurate data. All we see is the dead and high numbers at that. Actual numbers of those infected (which includes those with mild symptoms) are barely if at all available. Germany and Korea come closest and looking at those numbers... I am not worried in the slightest. People are to scared easily. Don't be. If you are healthy you might get sick, but you will survive (most of the time anyways).

@@Nozdormu1982 That's just a reckless risk with millions of lives on the line. We might need just 2 months to find medication that will work well, to find a better way to stop this. You don't want only people with corona to die, you want others who need intensive care beds to die. You want bodies to pile up in the funeral homes (we're there already). It can get much, much worse than it is now. There are people in Italy without a job, without money, who are more and more resorting to stealing just to get some food. You advocate for pure anarchy. Maybe you live in a mountainside home self sufficiently, good for you. But that's no reason to wish death and other horribleness on others. Shame on you.
@Nozdormu1982
@Nozdormu1982 4 жыл бұрын
@@amara560 I wish to prevent something far worse. Another great depression, which happened for the last time in the previous century. Another great depression will cause more suffering and more death then this virus ever will. You already pointed out the first glimpses of it. Italy is already showing the first signs of where we are all headed. Also I am not against containment, but for that to work banks would have to dissolve 50% of the debt that governments currently have. This will allow governments to properly support all companies that are affected by this and prevent a depression. So no. I don't want anarchy. I want to prevent something far worse, but at this rate we will be headed right into another depression and followed by it another world war.

Fingerprints are easily removed from polymer clay before baking with 91% rubbing alcohol and a fine paint brush. The alcohol breaks the surface of the clay down to create a smoother texture. Also, fine lines, clean can be created by overlaying plastic wrap and using the sculpting tool. Hope this helps with your next polymer project. Great vid by the way. =)

Haven’t finished watching yet, but they mentioned epoxy, so i assume that will keep it from being destroyed, so long as you’re not like, vigorously scrubbing it? But yeah don’t put them in the dishwasher Edit: Alright looks like they’re mostly just using the epoxy glue to keep things in place... I really think a thin layer of epoxy resin would keep it safe (although it might slightly damage textures?). It wouldn’t even necessarily have to be fully food-grade since it’s on the outside, just non-toxic!

Bake & bond helps to bond the polymer clay to surfaces. Uses this before you bake in the oven. That why there is no need for gluing. Use baby oil or clay soften to remove the finger prints before baking. You can uses a tiny bit of corn starch on your finger and rub lightly on the areas where there are prints but... corn starch could change the color of the colored clay you are using.

To help it stick better, prior to attaching the modeling clay, clean the glass with rubbing alcohol, and try not to touch the surface where you are applying it with your hands, or just wear gloves. Great job guys!

These are fun! Polymer clay is a great tool. You could use this technique to make some fun candle holders too, wouldn't have to worry about washing those too much.

OMG!! I've been meaning to do the same thing for years now. Bought the glass to alter second hand and have a whole drawer full of them. I just have way too many ideas so I keep making other things :D I LOVE THIS! I LOVE YOU GUYS!! LOVE LOVE LOVE! I love working with Polymer clay. what am i saying. I love everything that I can use in any type of craft. oh and... polymer clay you can use ontop of anything that you can put in the oven on the type of temp that it requires so perfect to make wands with :) pick a stick in the woods, clean it and build up some cool textures and beads and such, bake it and paint and a pretty wand is made.

Cool metallic tones are really easy if you take the main colour, and mix with silver. Similar to warm tones with something more golden or copper. The limit is what your imagination. I tend to make large batches of such things for future use.

I really liked that you both worked on a project together; not that you haven't before, but I liked seeing you both working side by side, trading ideas and inspiration while you made your goblets. Hope you get to feeling better soon! Enjoy your milk and cookies! 😁

You can use liquid clay ( sparingly) but also , you have to make sure your clay is well conditioned and then it sticks and also bakes better , I just love those glasses what a great idea , I love this channel ❤️❤️❤️

I enjoyed the video! If you embed a bit of wire in the clay before baking it should help it keep its shape for the weaker sections like the leaves. Probably wont prevent it peeling off completely, but might help add strenght so you don't end up with bits snapping off.

Next time you work with glass get some sand paper. Use the sand paper to ruff up the areas you are trying to glue to. Silicone is very durable and sticks well to glass as well similar glue they use for aquariums. (Note: There are different types of silicone and each has ratings for temperature. so choose wisely) You could also use a wire to help with tiny details. Piano wire works well or spring steel.

Use Bake and Bond to get the clay to stick better, and you can use clay softener to remove fingerprints (or rubbing alcohol, although it doesn't work as well, and it can also remove dust and schmutz).
