I tried to make Mega Khaos using rapidstrike pusher recently. Rapidstrike pusher was little too short so feeding wasn't consistent. But mag212 made Mega Zeus using rapidstrike pusher so someone with better mod skill can possibly do better job than me.

I bought one a couple days ago. It barely fired out of the box. Zero lubricant on the pusher and "springs". I slathered it with SuperLube, bypassed the Thermistor and gave it 9.6v. ME LIKEY!

Great video. Howdy! I modded mine last night. I went with neo hellcats to start...since you already showed what stock motors can do. I think this blaster will be a great platform for designers to create cages. I even tried to mod the cage to fit the rival motors which are 380s...not 260s.....way too wide...but i see that as a viable motor option.

Thanks for the review and mod tutorial! I got mine yesterday and was waiting for the reviews and mod turorials to start showing up. I think they could have done this with 1/3 the plastic but this is a MEGA blaster so it needs to be MEGA sized. Which 2s LiPo are you using? I will have to make the jump to LiPo before I mod my MotoStryke. I will wait with baited breath for the integration of the Rapidstrike pusher into the MotoStryke.

Thanks for making this review / mod guide :) I just finished doing these mods to mine; unfortunately being in Australia we have the down tuned version. Running on 3S proves to be an "acceptable" improvement :P But on 2S it is noticeably weaker; appears more on par with a stock US version XD

A little late to the party here, but since Kmart now has Motostrykes in stock for $29 I'm considering getting one and modding it. Do you remember what the chrono figures were for stock, 2S and 3S? How well do the stock motors handle increased voltages?

In Coop's review, the trigger return was garbage. In Walcom's, the mag release was broken. Did you have similar or different issues with yours out of the box?

I wonder how much to purchase a slightly modded version. I have a question, do people buy the standard Nerf line mainly to modify them? Are The rival and the mega/mega XL lines something that they could just leave stock or modify slightly? I ask this because elite level Nerf just seems like a modding platform for a layman like me.

how did you resolve feeding issue for mega khaos? feeding belt didn't feed mega dart well and rapidstrike pusher was little too short.

@@nistelchel took off almost half of the pegs on the belt. I used a centurian mag well and lost of testing to get the high right

@@Simatech2007 I wish this method worked for me. I tried same with belt but feeding was inconsistent. I used mega caliburn mag well which fits inside of khaos believe or not, with some shell cutting. This project is history for me as circuit short melted 2 21A switches and destroyed both flywheel motors. I wish my mega khaos worked.

One question: Is it necessary to do the full rewire, or is it possible to use the stock switches and wiring and only modify the battery tray to hold the 2s lipo battery?

I only have two Mega blasters, thrifted both and don't have any Mega darts. That being said, man is this thing amazing or what? You can even open with without destroying it! I shouldn't have to say it but it's still a pro considering the dark path Hasbro has been on.

The leaf springs on the trigger were probably to even out the off-set resistance on the trigger and to make it return more positively. I am not a fan of using leaf springs like this - especially plastic onese, and am TOTALLY on the same page INRE: replacing them with coil compression springs lol

Nope, the entire point of it was to cut corners and save money. I doubt the designers didn't even test fire the thing when they made it. The sample they had at the Toy Fair was amazing and actually had a regular spring, and was commented on by other reviewers as "the smoothest trigger I've ever pulled". Then the actual release happened and the trigger is total garbage. Without modding, this thing is unusable

man... I was getting into mega blasters and was really excited when I saw this blaster... and then I saw the cost cutting and decided to just not get it... (I don't mind the performance if it is reliable but cheeping out on springs is dumb) Kinda wish dartzone would make mega blasters...

Don't forget that the discharge is calculated by doing the following: mAh/1000 multiplied the C rating. You imply in the video that the 3s higher capacity battery so it may actually have a better discharge than your 2s. Worth doing the maths. I suspect you saw lower fps on the 3s due to dart slip. Hopefully, someone will release a higher crush cage for this blaster, which will mean you can get some superior numbers out of your 3s.

well i didnt explain this in detail but this is what happened. Under 3 s the motors where screaming much louder. the heads where ripping off 1 out of every 5 darts fired and yes we had slipping so thats why the FPS was lower.

I have a bin of springs I pull out of broken and old blasters. The switch was from out of darts or foam blast.

But why? It’s a mega stryfe. If you want a normal stryfe, just buy a AF spectrum or a Nerf stryfe.
