Also for the ram rod, you could make the center hole on the plastic parts bigger, key them to sit together well and then run a threaded rod through the whole thing with nuts on both ends.
@LARPBeard2 жыл бұрын
it would be awesome if there were just a list of hardware parts. the box in the print instructions is a bunch of links that cannot be selected vie docs individually, just copy the whole box and pasted in a place where one can cope individually, opened and noted down to make a list. seems like a hassle :(
@carnyrex18722 жыл бұрын
The hardware is also listed (with dimensions) in the main parts list separately, at the bottom of that section - or did you mean something seperatley

@@carnyrex1872 I have he same issue. I can't open the links and if I try to copy the links there is always a message that they couldn't find the page. Also I'm not that into this custom nerf hobby so I have no clue what parts I need when there are options for like Caliburn or Talum Claw. So a list with links of the exact parts would be very nice 😁

@@carnyrex1872I have the problem that I dont have a 3d printer so what should I use for the ramrod?
@ridokilos-actualАй бұрын
Heat set threaded inserts for the ramrod perhaps? I realize this is a 2 year old video and maybe already has adjustments. I'm planning on using 10-32 threaded rod so hopefully it's not an issue.

You mentioned a 3d printer like the Ender 3 will print out the parts for this musket. Would the Ender 3 cover the 12 pounder cannon on the naval carriage?
@carnyrex18722 жыл бұрын
That thing is much tiny-er, that will fit fine
@bocyboy992 жыл бұрын
Did you print these parts out of PLA or PETG for this project? I'm especially wondering for the plunger what material you used.
@carnyrex18722 жыл бұрын
Surprisingly PLA works fine with a high infill
@polarmuffin65792 жыл бұрын
For the Ram rod, you said it needs to wear in, would it be easier to just sand the ram round or would that make it too lose?
@carnyrex18722 жыл бұрын
You can do that and just try as you go, but “wearing” does not take long anyway!

Now I think that you should try to redesign the ramrod as it is really weak and mine broke so I got a better one made of wood so I think you should try to redesign the ramrod

If you buy it from one of the print partners will they make it for you or does come in parts and you have to make it yourself?
@daze143 Жыл бұрын
Is the hardware kit on frontline foam's website still accurate for v2? The picture on the product page doesn't seem to quite match the hardware listed. But maybe I'm missing something.

I want to get a 3D printer but there are so many on the market. Do you have any recommendations?
@carnyrex18722 жыл бұрын
If you want cheap, get an ender 3, you can upgrade it over time to perfection. If you have extra scratch grab a Prusa Mk3 which will have similar capabilities but much more reliability / less time spent tinkering to get it right

Can these be done on a resin printer as well or is it smarter to do fdm due to the size?
@grahamturner26402 жыл бұрын
There are resin printers that are pretty large, though the large FDM printers and the materials for it are less expensive.

Where did you get the polycarbonate tube?
@KermitTheGamer21 Жыл бұрын
I commissioned someone to print the parts for me but it seems like the tolerances for the piston head were messed up, it is super loose and just slides freely. I suspect that will be an issue. Can I just glue it to the piston rod or do I have to get them reprinted?
@grahamturner26402 жыл бұрын
Have you tried making a ramrod that had interlocking parts or are they too small for that?
@carnyrex18722 жыл бұрын
Yep! This was the original version of the ramrod you see with the elastic musket barrel, it was kinda weak at that diameter of a Nerf dart. This method is annoying but at least it’s strong
