Description:
After Horace's fruitless attempt to dissuade Richard, Sawyer convinces him to allow him to talk to Richard. He does so, revealing that he knows about Jughead and Locke in 1954. This persuades Richard that Sawyer is not from the DHARMA Initiative and therefore the truce has not been broken.

The true irony of it is many viewers thought this, and the showrunners came out and clarified that Nestor Carbonell's eyelashes and eyes were so dark, they even used makeup to lighten them to make it more realistic. So what we see is a watered down version of how he actually looks in real life lmao

He even Was picked on at school for his eyelashes. But this saw never had a problem with the characters mocking the physical appearance of the actors.

It's so funny cuz Richard and the others were so mysterious at first. Now this "Lafleur" (Sawyer) character is probably extremely mysterious to Richard 😂😂

Its not funny coz that was the whole ironic arc of the show. Richard n his people feel the same way about them as Sawyer n his people felt. Mysterious n a little scared.

Some of Richard and the Other's behaviors, specifically when it comes to dead bodies, starts to make sense after we learn that there is a monster out there that can pose as anyone who is dead, and that they, to some extent, are aware of that fact.

Coincidental, not ironic. Ironic means the opposite, so if Nestor did age (which he has, duh) unlike his character Richard then that's ironic

Sawyer, along with Jack, definitely had the best character development in this show! Sawyer goes from a selfish con man to a brilliant leader in season 5 and Jack goes from a man of science to a man of faith!

One of the best moments in Lost, if not THE best moment! Watching Sawyer turn into such a great leader for the survivors is so good and really pulled me back into the show when my interest waned because of all the unanswered questions and mysteries.

There still hasn’t been a show as good as Lost since. I joined the party a little late, about half way into season 3 but I was chuffed I had all those episodes to binge like crazy.

But brooo that was part of the excitement. Binging has killed the viewing experience now, in a way. Cos we're always sprinting through the ordinary eps to hit those season finales. With Lost, you appreciated every individual episode and what it had to offer so much more. Imagine watching the S1 finale and having to wait a whole year to learn what was in the hatch? So many theories made it part of the fun. Now it's "What's down the hatch?", five minutes later... "Oh, mega!", moving on.

There should have been more scenes when Sawyer etc were in the dharma initiative before the others came back. I thought that Kate and Jack dominated a lot the beginning of season 5 :(

the show could have been better by taking a few protagonism away from Jack and especially Kate (her episodes are the worst). Sawyer, Ben, Miles, Faraday, Richard, Desmond and many others deserved more episodes

@@nvrmnd405 Yeah, I watched the series when it was on TV. I liked Jack at first, but he got pretty boring after the first few seasons. I never understood the allure of Kate. I always found her to be a very unlikeable character. I agree with you that many others could have done well with their screen time.

They should have a plan for story of Lost, but they didn't have nothing. Imagine Lost was planned like Dark. Even with tv company wanting more episodes it could be good to just use other people than main characters as POV for some "filler" episodes.

@@theq6797 They did have plans for lost. The problem was that they kept making plans which had to be thrown out due to actor problems - Mr eko was meant to be a central foil to John locke but the actor didn't like hawaii and wanted to leave. Libbys actor got a dui, Walt was intended to be more prominent but his actor hit puberty quicker than expected and they couldn't expect people to believe someone who looked in his late teens was 12. Stuff like that happened unfortunately

All the way to the end he was second fiddle to Jack and Locke. Jack was seen as Locke's equal; though Sawyer started out as a criminal, he redeemed himself and proved he was much a much more worthy leader than Jack. But Jack was the "star", so he stayed front and center until the end (quite literally).

@@humanoideric I was thinking of Dragon Ball comparisons to lost just the other day. Locke feels like piccolos story in reverse (good man dies,evil man takes over). Jacob feels like an even more jerky beerus. Desmond is trunks what with all the time travel. Juliette is basically 18 (blonde who starts out bad but gradually turns good)

@@majedeeh MIB is the one that caused those deaths. He conned Sawyer by putting him in a scenario where Sawyer tried to defuse a bomb, like any ordinary person would try to do if they found one on their in-voyage submarine.

It always seemed the emphasis was on Jack over Sawyer to me. Frankly, I never understood why Jack was so respected. I think Sawyer v. Locke was a much more potent leadership struggle.

While Sawyer grew into the respected leader, he still had is long seeded issues. I think it was always meant to be Jack and Hurley in the end. One has always been selfless, the other, benevolent. Sawyer just wanted to live a normal life after killing Johns Dad, and would do anything to get back to that.

Sawyer doesn't want to get on the sub because he's waiting for Locke to come back! He says it in this scene, plain as day. Juliet: "James? Are you sure you know what you're doing?" as cold as ice .. she knows why Sawyer will do ANYTHING to stay right where he is. Because Locke's bringing Kate.

I always thought this was some big scene where sawyer reveals that he's a time traveler, but... If the jug head flashback was only 20 years ago from this scene, its very possible that sawyer could have served in the military, got deployed to the island, left, and then came back with dharma 20 years later. This scene doesn't really make him credible, it just means he has Intel on them 🤔

I remember watching this scene and being so annoyed by the writing. If any one of them were to go out and speak to Richard, wouldn't Juliet be the obvious choice? Sure, the timeline they're on predated her time on the island, but she could have related much more to Richard and easily bought his allegiance.
