​@@Anihpares This is a MASSIVE assumption but I think one of the reasons Roxanne wants to put Antonio "on the grind" is because if he's constantly working he won't be able to HAVE THE TIME to make friends who could see how fucked and emotionally and financially manipulative his relationship with Roxanne is. He puts her on the pedestal and she has him so under her control that anyone speaking against her is against him and he will take a dagger to the heart before he even criticizes her in the slightest. This is why Roxanne still wants to keep him even though she doesn't seem to want him as a partner. To her Antonio is a little pet guard dog that keeps up her ego. That's why he's always fighting away all the "other men" that want her. That's why she's not directly turning away all those "other men" and properly claiming him (through marriage)..... Yep it's called the relationship escalator. Too many men want to lock someone down and be off the market themselves because marriage benefits men more than women. Trey and Riah both have faults esp in their relationship but I don’t think he was calling her stupid for wanting to live in the city, I thought he was calling her rash for wanting to live in Atlanta without a plan or job to support her in that move. He has a job in I think NC, it’s hard for him to just leave his job, his support and current lifestyle to go live in Atlanta for a year. He even told her to go live in the city if that’s what she really wanted. He wasn’t stopping her. She never had to stay in that relationship, she chose to stay. And she also knows that she wouldn’t be able to finance her lifestyle on a waitress salary in Atlanta and I think that’s why she wanted him to go with her because he does support her lifestyle. In the show, he even mentioned how he got her the dream car she wanted and that he provides for her. I think that’s what no one is paying attention to. I think her inability to leave him stems from her comfort ability in him providing. He is an engineer

There's also the parallel in how both men view their spouse as interchangeable. Like it didn't need to be that specific women they NEED to be married to. Someone whose willing to play the part the men want their spouse to play is all they're really looking for and not necessarily a specific personality.
