Except for the fact that they had a possibility to go to the Olympics! If England went through! And ofc they tried to set up a fight because it has to look like they do. But in the end the only goal of Scotland was to act the best they could and concede the most goals without letting it look suspicious

The last goal was important after England finished with 6-0 win, because without it, Holland would have been (+7) in goal difference just like England (+7) and England would have came on top because they have scored more goals in total. (13 Ned vs 15 Eng).

@@RachelFoster-jt5xz I understand about the Scotland v England thing but if you were one of the top Scottish players who had a realistic chance to be included in the GB team participating in the greatest sporting event on the planet, would you agree that some people would feel that you had motivation not to be trying as hard in that game? Such a situation could have been avoided had UEFA made sure that England, Scotland and Wales were put in different groups during the draw. I think it's fantastic that Eguirola scored twice in the added time and made that a moot point

The Belgian team also had a bit of luck in the previous games, their opponents then weren't fully organised. The trainer, Serneels, ignored some serious flaws in the Belgian team, at least two players should have been replaced earlier on ( months ago), which came to show in this game. You can't expect from newcomers to be fully into the game on this level , it is a opportunity Serneels has missed . Reminds me of Martinez, afraid of renewal and holding on on thin strings.

netherland - belgium 4-0 was normal scotland - england = 0-6 was ABNORMAL (scotland dont show nothing potencial ,THEY WAS AWAITING or inviting TO RECIEVE GOAL CHANCES (they was thinking to participate with great britain in olympics as only one target) (the ENG-SCO was 3-1 even with referee helping ENG = scotland should have a penalty , and 1 of the ENG goal was offside)
