@@PeteThorn Great video and playing as usual! Now, in all seriousness, how can one make the plug-in sound just like the real amp in “real life”?... I mean, I have a Soldano with a 2x12” cab, guitar into pedalboard, into amp (no mics, no monitors, not recording, just jamming)... so far I haven’t been able to. 🙏🏼

After a few days of playing the Neural SLO, I am amazed at how good this sounds. This is simply the best amp model I've heard. I'm a tube amp lover so don't listen to them all admittedly, but SO impressed. Amp tones are great, the cab is great, ability to load IR's OR skip the amp and use as an IR loader on the front end to DAW. Even the tuner is good..... Wait, did I say anything about fun??? DAMN

This is a wonderfully composed, played, and recorded piece of music right here! To my ears... It's like EVH (F.U.C.K. era) and Satriani (Surfing with the Alien era) all rolled into one... very impressive Pete! Oh... and the plugin is great too! If you can get these tones produced in a track and not have to physically touch an amp, cabinet, cables, effects, mics...etc...etc... It's really a no brainer.

Good god, man. They replicated an SLO-100 in a plugin with like 98% accuracy. It's fascinating. Ive already had this plugin for a few weeks and yet I'm still blown away and watching videos on it!

This video is what I've been waiting for. Surprisingly few big channels had this out yet. Someone deep into 80's rock is perfect to demonstrate, especially having a real SLO. And you got the purple tolex in Neural DSP! Really cool setup for comparing them. You're a gem. Have had a hard GAS for SLO for a while now and then Neural DSP released this. Just needed to hear good demos like this. I think the plugin is just ever so slightly crispier and less flabby in the bass (which I heard has been a bit of a complaint by some with the original SLO). You sold Neural DSP plugin to me. I do like the original, a bit softer tone, but they're so close it's not even a question of dreaming of spending 4000€ or actually spending 100€.

Someone just listed a limited edition 1997 Soldano Astroverb on craigslist here, signed by Mike Soldano. Looks like a killer amp, and based on how good this plugin demo sounds it must be a fun amp to play!

Thanks Pete for helping me convince me to buy this plugin, making it frighteningly easy to get a great sound (admit I copied your settings in this video) and with the track at the beginning giving me inspiration to come up with a nice powerful riff myself today that didn't begin so nice.

My usual method of recording electric guitar tracks is to simultaneously record a dry signal along with the processed. With the plethora of amazing amp plugins available these days, there's really no reason not to give yourself the option of digitally 're-amping' your performance from a completely dry copy of your playing. This sim sounded especially potent... such great bite.

Outstanding review of the plugin! I have seen a few of these reviews and its clear the plugin is crafted very well. However, I think you employed enough *SCIENCE* to really analyze just how good it is without making this an inorganic analysis. Well done!

Dude that demo sounds like something EVH would write! Great tones! this a no brainer purchase for high gain tones. So much attack, sustain, articulation and just this wicked relentless voice that cuts through, but is balanced from lows to mids to highs.

I really love the real SLO. Especially at the end of sustained notes. That’s where I really hear the difference. This plug in is killer though!

12:31 Real amp solo 13:01 Plugin solo Listening to both with high quality headphones the real amp still edges the plugin in harmonics and details imo. Specially noticeable with the open strings. Also a little muffled clarity in the mids. But in a complete mix these small differences get buried. Very nice plugin and video!

i agree but with P42 behind it set to wool preset i think it would sound even closer, there is some hair or air on the top end that could be rounded off. very close though.

Placing an eq (particularly a 5 band) in the classic V shape in the effects loop and an OD in front of the amp, really brings all SLOs to life.

Dude! Fantastic shootout video! The only noticeable difference to me was on the palm muted notes. The real SLO had more weight and heft in the chug. Otherwise, nearly identical. LOVE that into tune also. I gave it a thumb's up 20 seconds in.

Now, Neural DSP just needs to make sims of a Mesa Dual Rectifier and a 1967 or 1968 Marshall JMP Plexi and we're all good to go.

Had this going in a different tab when you started the comparison. I was waiting to hear the switch from real amp to the sim but I never heard it. I thought that when you added the effects that was when you switch from real to sim but I was wrong. That plugin is phenomenal
