@@lilystarr226I get this high pitched ringing sound when I do it. And then it’s all white when my eyes are closed. And my body feels like it’s being pressed on. I’m used to intense experiences so I kind of enjoy it, but for some people I feel like it would be too much. Edit: the last two times I’ve done it, I’ve gone completely unconscious. I’m not sure if I’m actually passing out or if I’m just falling asleep, but when I come to I have no recollection of what I was doing prior. It’s kind of scary. Happens about 5 minutes after I finish the 3rd round. I’m going to have my wife watch me next time I do it to make sure I’m not having a seizure. I have a disorder so I don’t want to be inducing them. Just be wary of this

by the third round, I basically feel euphoria of some sort - I am very happy. I move a lot during the last breathing session, but I have no idea why, I just want to. and then after/during the last session my mind is quite - no thoughts for a few minutes. it's amazing.

I used to do Win Hoff once a day and was much calmer. Got out of habit. Started doing it again. Makes a huge difference. Also back to a cool shower as well. Thinking of you with complete empathy. What Win Hof is doing is not his original recipe. It's been practiced for thousands of years by Hindu sages. It's Hinduism that gave meditation in the form of yoga to the world. There are so many breathing techniques that are in secret by Yogis that have either been lost or kept hidden. Mediation is the way of praying to God in Hinduism. This way many have received boons by them by mediating for 10+ years. There are breathing techniques to slow down metabolism, heart rate and body functions to bare minimum to not need food(reduced calories)to sustain for years. The body's greatest weapon is the mind

It is not magic, but it is a practice known to Yogis, I agree. Traditional practices were discovered and employed through experience, trial and error, without an underlying explanation. As time goes on, they get studied and understood through the scientific method. Chinese medicine is in a similar position: some of its teachings have been explained by the scientific method, even though they had been known for ages

Do both. Got it ! What type of meditation would you suggest ?
@scramjet7466
@scramjet7466 Жыл бұрын
@@CrutialKills if you go by the instruction from the actual birthplace of meditation, ie India then it's an answer only a spiritually elevated guru can guide you with. I have personally, received this instruction but we are told not to try and reach it to others because there is a lot of nuance and it can be damaging to the people who learn it from non experts (in the long run). (Analogous to getting medical treatment from a medical student. Technically they are learning from an actual expert, but there is a great deal of difference) So, if you have time come to India! Try and find a real guru (this is easier said than done). But for now, the core fundamental of meditation is 'doing nothing while being conscious'. When we are living, we are trying to accomplish some task. But this journey of accomplishing tasks itself is not life. We, are in an autopilot unconsciously doing things. I don't have to think while typing this, you don't think while talking you just do. If you think about it, when are you consciously taking a decision. 99.99% of our life is a series of knee jerk reactions. This is efficient for survival in the jungle, but it won't let you elevate spiritually. According to me, meditation is an absolute practice ie it is one state of mind same for every organism. You know when you know. Ānāpānasati meditation is something I understand. You focus only on your breath and your body, whenever a thought comes to mind just acknowledge it and go back to focusing on your breath and body. (This might happen at crazy speeds but you will get better at it)
@kahyui2486

Right. I hate it when people call mindfulness meditation too. It's literally the opposite. One is freeing your mind of thought whereas the other is about hyper focusing on one thing lmao
@scramjet7466
@scramjet7466 Жыл бұрын
@@kahyui2486 mindfulness is acknowledgement without reaction (according to me). It is somewhat in line with meditation actually. Being able to focus deeply on a task is an outcome of practicing meditation. Because in meditation you are practicing to forget the illusion of (your) the body and the physical world and trying to recollect your true nature ie spirit/soul. To be able to do this you need to get really good at ignoring spurious thoughts and external stimuli.

Was told after surgery I'd never walk unassisted again. Currently I can walk a 45 minute 5k without too much misery. I've done over a 100.,000 pullups and pushups since I hit the ground. Was told my bones would never heal maybe they haven't but I keep trying and never give up. My doc says I am one in a million I call that bullshit, if you prepare your whole life for the impossible it won't be when it arrives. Also I warn people to wake up and start living true to your existence I saw the future and the past that day there is another realm of existence out there. Missing biggest point: body removes co2 which raises the frequency of the body to an alkaline state. The immune system has full free space in an alkaline body - but keep in mind that body needs to be slightly acidic in order to perform in an active state. Our system is often too busy with inflammation (co2).

I do it every single day sometimes up to three times with ten rounds. It's fine. I have no serious medical conditions and am an amateur athlete, and try to eat clean foods and stay hydrated and have enough salt etc. It shouldn't feel like a "workout", you should feel relaxed and your facial muscles should be chilled out...as soon as you feel like breathing in, just do it. I think mistakes happen when people try to "make it" to the end of a certain time record, which is not the goal.

I became septic in the fall of 2020 due to a bad appendicitis. I took the horrible antibiotics, and didn’t die or loose my limbs, however I just wasn’t recovering. After 6 weeks my husband who is an RN began to believe that he would be married to an invalid for the rest of his life. A friend twisted my arm to try Wim Hof breathing and I was better than before I got sick in 2 DAYS! Once I was really healed I no longer felt any better when I did the breathing than when I didn’t.

Thank you Dr. Huberman for a brief scientific recap of the astounding and life changing effects of this utterly simple practice. Thank you for your work and revealing the (unfathomable) genius of our Maker, in us. 2 years almost daily, this mild "stressor" has helped recovery from stress, and in averting any colds, fllus or other issues. Does not replace exercise, lol. Bless you, and thank you Lewis.

I've been doing wim hof for years. 5 minute holds are average now. I've only had two minor colds over the last 4 years. I'm not sure that's because of breathing, but interesting. Exercise (getting your body hot) helps with immunity a lot as well.

Well you have control and psychological choice over this stress. It will also add many benifits like self confidence as you develop discipline. Whereas the other stress is due to your environment which you can't control, like a rat trapped in a box. That is moreso suffering than just pain or stress.

@@snakeoo7ca ah! Indeed! Had an argument lately that truth was relative to the viewer so i got things messed up Facts and truth are one thing, beliefs is another indeed. But sometimes the two get mingled up and people see beliefs as inequivocal truths Schizophrenics, psychosed, religious/spiritual people, cognitive dissonants, educated (doesnt mean they never ignore facts/impose their views), etc... What they perceive is true in their eyes, facts and consensus can't trump them you know? So yeah, it stemed from that discussion about relative truth (not alternate truth) YEEHA

Someone explain please, because according to my knowledge, cortisol and adrenaline are stress hormones made in the adrenal medulla and cause the symphatic response of the body, and the "canon like stressresponse" (idk if thats how you call it in english) which, decreases the effectiveness of the immune system as it diverts resources to our "skeletal muscles". So shouldnt the described process be reversed??
