It's centered on teens with a teen or family focus. It doesnt Center around advise for parents, teens representes for kids, or teens for adults, it's teens for teens. We can still enjoy it but it's a teen show. @@alexare6655

guys there’s differences between force’s marriages (which is more of what’s emulated in this show) and arranged marriages!! arranged marriages entail both parties having agency and AGREEING to find love through non conventional methods (such as being introduced through friends or family) whilst forced marriages take away that choice

arranged marriage doesn't necessarily equate to 'no love'. Its more like trying to find the best potential for love. It may not always work out but that's the same with finding love first and then getting married, there is potential for love to be lost. It's just different methods to finding love.

financial stability and both families being on the same page is really important in marriage. Not important for love, but for marriage and having kids. Arranged marriages take care of both of those factors first and then allows both parties to get to know each other. Definitely doesn't work out a lot of the time but that's why new age arranged marriages are nice because its like tinder except your parents choose every option.

i know that it was annoying to watch devi think her own culture is cringe but i feel like thats a common experience for poc growing up in a multicultural country. i went through that phase too and now im over it and can appreciate my own culture but its a common experience to pretend to be embarrassed by your own culture to fit in, especially as a teenager. when i watched this i was annoyed with devi too but i also really understood her, shes trying to fit in as an indian teen living in america.
