This reminds me of a sandhurst Soveriegns parade in the 1960s, the Queen mother inspected the Guard of Honour, she spoke to one cadet, she looked down at his boots and mentioned that the sun glinted off them, she moved on and the General said quietly 'Boots' The RSM Glared at the cadet and whispered sharply to the adjutant "Got him sir"!

The guy in the dark blue Frock Coat is usually the Adjutant of the Battalion, he is like the Staff Officer who shares an office with the Commanding Officer. He will inspect every person on Parade and he will e very particular. Unusually this Adjutant seems to be a Scots Guard Captain but the Battalion is the Irish Guards, it is not unheard of for Guards Battalions to share senior officers between each other, in any Guards Battalion you can find five Company Commanderstwo or three could be from any Guards Regiment.

From this video we cannot see which Guards are going on duty, probably the Scots because the inspecting officer is from that Regiment. However, the duty band could be from any of the five Regiments, on this video, Irish.

Who is teaching these wonderful young men and women to drill!!!! and salute , honestly my drill sergeant would turn in his grave, they are being so poorly trained, amongst other things they are actually falling off balance when they come to attention, they all look like they have two left feet and that is because nobody has taught them to MARCH!!!!, as for saluting no one has a clue, including some of the junior officers!!!defies imagination!!!. This is not a criticism of these fine young men and women, this is a criticism of the incompetence of senior staff, that is all rank’s including warrant officers, most of them are simply uneducated in these matters, the art of marching is a lost cause, no one knows how to march anymore, unless of course you are a member of Chinese Armed Forces, they strive for perfection and achieve it through hard work, it’s the only way, there is hope ‘The King’s Royal Marine Band’ is superb, in fact magnificent, they are the only members of the British Armed Forces who actually can march, far from perfect, nevertheless very good, let’s hope that they can lead by example and hope that when our men and women are on Parade they actually look like soldiers!!!.

@@mikemyshka1472 Not quite sure what that word salad was but Joining the Household Division aka the British Army as a combat soldier has nothing to do with being a relative of the Sovereign. Normal British Lads join the British Army and usually have a choice of Regiment. A lot of women have joined the British Army now, particularly in the Bands and Royal Horse Artillery. There is also such a thing as a Legacy Join, if your family has a history of being in a Regiment. The ceremonial aspect of the Household Division takes a lot of work and you learn to be pretty proficient with a tin of Parade Gloss, Beeswax and a Blowtorch.

I am working proofs of written genealogy with church records for the names and individuals in lineage. Polish American and the lineage I am working on in a few case can go to Roman times. Talked with the Herald of Stewards and the Peerage Council Royals about the GSMD to answer Sovereign questions to allow the GSMD members to have chapters in UK to help preserve English, Scottish, Irish and Welsh heritages. 5’10l. Officers retire at 55. Most will have left long before that, having 'done their bit' and moved on to civilian life. Staff-qualified officers tend to stay the race, having usually reached star rank by late mid-40's or so. At least the left group were 'at ease and maintained their position. It was like a pinic with the group on the right. Tons of movement etc etc even shouted commands wete lackadaisical and not listened to. Never ever saw such laxness when the late Queen, RIP, was alive. Also, who are the short soldiers? Youth or women? They're tiny. Are these cadets of some sort?

1. Blue plume indicates the Irish Guards, worn on the right side of the bearskin. Each Guards unit has a different color plume (except Scots Guards no plume). White plume on right: Grenadier G, Red plume on left: Coldstream G, Green/White on left: Welsh G. Pouch is an accoutrement pouch for bandsmen. 2. I agree that all of the milling about and talking is unacceptable, unmilitary. The short bandsmen were small-statured female bandsmen.
