We've had ours in Canada for 10 months. One has to get used to the driving to conserve power, after that it's impressive. But the lack of a rear windscreen wiper....is REALLY disappointing.

The heat pump, because it improves efficiency, should be standard across the line. I bet it eventually will, both for economy of scale and to make the base models more competitive.

Had my eye on the Namsan, two things put me off. The waiting time, approx 9 months last time I asked. The Tesla Model Y is now approx £10k cheaper and you can get one of these in about a month. Have to mention the far superior Tesla charging network . No I'm not a Tesla fanboy. I drive a Kona EV.

Good review but (l’m sorry about the “but”) why does this and other reviews focus more on the Ultimate and Namsan trims? I would love to see a good review of the premium version rather than get told what I could have had if I’m prepared to spend £50,000+. Sorry, rant over.

I must admit, it is great car. However, I would not recommend it to no one. I have bought one Ioniq5 on PCP on September 2021 and car was very good until wind screen crack. Since I have reported it to insurance on the beginning of June I had to wait until and of September because there was no windscreen in UK, and it was “back order”. Fortunately, I was able to drive it. But the real problems were ahead 😪😩. Just before Christmas 2022 on board charger got broken, car was taken to main dealer. I was told that they haven't got parts on shelf because it's back order and I must wait. After two months and two weeks I finally had message from the dealer that they will get the part next week and get the car fixed for me. I was very excited that I'm going to get my car back after two months and two weeks. I forgotten to mention but, in the meantime, they provided me with BMW series one petrol. From the same beginning I told them that I prefer electric cars, but they don't care. However, I was very patient, and I was looking forward to getting my car back. Unfortunately, when the onboard charger arrived at the dealer, they realise they need other parts, and those parts are also on backorder so now it looks like I might not have a car for 5 months. After all that experience with the dealer and lack of the parts for the car they selling I decided to stay away from Hyundai I once and for all and to spread the word to other people not to make the same mistake and become the victim of this dealer. However, if you decided to buy one of those electric Hyundai's I wish you a lot of luck I hope nothing gets broken otherwise you might need to wait long time before you see your car again.

I’m sure I’ve seen this comment on another Ioniq 5 video. Are you just going around posting it on them all? Regarding your issues, I sympathise but wouldn’t be surprised if this was partly due to the aftermath of the corona pandemic and chip shortages. It was very much in the news that car delays were occurring because of these. You may very well have experienced this with another manufacturer too.

Is the cabin quiet on driving on some rough roads? Any rattling? How does it compare with Lexus ES350 in terms of sound proofing? Any wind noise on highway driving? Are there any issues after a year's doing?
@EdenMotorGroup
@EdenMotorGroup Жыл бұрын
Best drive one to see. Every car has minor rattling even a Bentley. I will say the car is superb in the way it is made so I didn’t notice anything. Comparing it directly to the Lexus is hard as we only have the Es 300h in the UK. Making a guess though it will be quieter as this is a full EV and the es300h at least is a plug in hybrid. In terms of a years driving the car comes with 5 years of warranty so you shouldn’t have any issues.

Rattling was sorted out by loosening the large rubber spacers on the back. On the boot door. (On the inside obviously. )

The Kia EV6 AWD 77,4 kWh sibling does already outplay Mercedes EQE350 so a Lexus ES350 seems to me not a serious competition or something to compare with. The E-GMP platform is same for all actual models of Hyundai group. Responsible for the drivetrain was a number #1 in automotive Albert Biermann who was the head of BMW M-Sports for 30 years and responsible for so many phantastic cars of their time. For the 800 Volt system people from Porsche and Rimac-Bugatti played a role certainly too, they partner with the Koreans. Here however performant cars are really quiet, even with winter wheels on or working heat pump aircondition. The cars are specifically well to handle in any situation and terribly fast around corners. When the Ioniq 5 N or the Kia GT are coming into sales it would be kind of Tesla Performance with more refined luxury and still very quiet too as daily drives. My own EV6 AWD made over 10’000 km with an average of 16,8 kWh on 100 km, has measured 608 Nm of instant torque and 333 HP and it can seriously be competively driven e.g. on Anneau du Rhin. An Alfa-Romeo Stelvio Quadrofoglio verde with 510 HP and much noise could not make the point. The GV60 even offers active noise cancellation-road together with B&O. Furthermore you have even the choice of now 4 distinctive models with just different and very outstanding design from the masses of all same boring SUV. It’s up to your taste what to buy but neither Lexus nor Infinity are to compare in any way with - there is just no model around that could match. Useless to say it’s rather EQS, Taycan or Audi e-Tron GT only three times cheaper with similar features in. Might be the unfortunately somewhat outdated Jaguar i-Pace can at least match design whise and has a good air suspension but I tested and decided that it’s no need for, even on bumpy roads. These new group of cars just play in another league and offer the best mix of all worlds under brands that reinvented themselves with young engineers and some of the best in car industry from all continents. The hot hatch is the Ioniq 5, the streamline sedan 6, the Gran Tourismo EV6 and the luxury crossover Genesis GV60.

£43k isn’t a decent price it’s outrageous most uk households don’t earn that in a year ffs you probably can’t afford it either
@EdenMotorGroup
@EdenMotorGroup Жыл бұрын
Errr the average UK house earns over £30,000 in disposable income after tax and bills. With financing and the fact that the fuel bill for most EV buyers will go down from around £300 a month to around £50 a month doing around 10,000 miles per year it actually becomes cheaper to own most EV’s especially family cars as these are often used for school runs, going to do more activities and value tends to hold more. Having the higher priced car does not mean over a period of time it does not eventually become cheaper. Otherwise no one would have ever bought a diesel car in the last 10 years. Diesel and diesel cars have been more expensive than petrol for a long time. However if you do the miles in them, thanks to efficiency they become cheaper over time.
