We designed the new bike around the BMW adventurer experience. Now you have 2x coffee trays to put your Starbucks cups. Side tank bags can hold 5x croissants each. No clutch means your left hand is free to reach your snacks all day. Cup holder sold separate (€4.000)

SO glad I managed to secure the last (allegedly) 1250 Triple black adventure in the U.K! last week. I WAS waiting for the 1300 but had to go for it before I lucked out and BOY am I glad i did! I think the residuals on 1250's got a little stonger last week... SHOCKINGLY ill informed design! as for the extra 10 bhp! , NEVER have I thought 'oh my 1100/1150/1200 (and now 1250) GSA needs more power!

I have to say that when I looked at the reelece of the R1300GSA I thought it was ugly but when I went onto the configuration a saw the triple black and also the tramentana green I was hooked. I ride a R1250GSA 40 year’s edition, black and yellow and that’s the most beautiful bike of them all but when you configurate the triple black with all its accessories it looks stunning! Your reviews are first-rate, well done again. I'm 6'3" and 235 and I'm sick of all the motorcycles built for shorties. I do 90% of my miles on long-distance trips and I have reached a point in life where I want to be comfortable. Aesthetics be damned! This bike is an engineering marvel and built for a man! It's the most technologically advanced production motorcycle ever built. I'm all in! I will buy one! When do the USA units arrive?

I’m not the target audience for a GS Adventure - however, I have to say, I think I like it more than the other models. It’s got a sort of Anima, Cyberpunk-esc look with the squarer shapes and larger, flat metal-looking tank panels. I’m sure when people have the time to let their initial reaction abate, and get the chance to see one in person - they’ll warm to the new, daring direction BMW have gone in.
@dieppe182

It is a more quirky, bold design, which looks like it takes some styling elements from the big-tanked Paris Dakar bikes of the 80's. Looks better in the flesh when you can see the curved part of the tank. The images released make it look very slab like. Will be interesting to see how many they have sold when we look back in a couple of years. I like it!

@@fujin09 Western europe? you should plan a trip to western europe or even better in the alps or in the north and observe how many GS you can count on small or alpine roads with no traffic at all. After that, you can try one and will understand why this thing is so beloved. White collar or not, ASA or not. You can ride 1000 km in a day on those bikes and then go out to visit a town or have a cup of coffe (Also Starbucks if you don't like italian coffee) because your aren't tired. The HD Pan Am also automatically lowers the suspension if set-up this way. No need to press a button. The difference though is that the new GS can also do it at the front suspension. The HD can only do it at the rear which is why probably the effect is more pronounced on the GS. I tested the HD Pan Am fitted with it and even though I’m tall enough to really need it I found it to be a great comfort extra.

The "looks". Function over form for sure. I happen to like it but its personal for everyone. My question for any "auto-box", why not have a clutch lever? You don't need to "fan" the clutch until you do. Any life long rider should agree. (i think) Just like the shift lever that has no mechanical connection to the box, a clutch lever could be the same. Just sends a signal that you want to disengage the clutch. So simple yet could make such a difference to someone who wants the same level of control as a "standard" some of the time but the luxury of an auto-box most of the time. Do it now !!
@NicholasNormile
@NicholasNormile 22 күн бұрын
That sounds like a completely unnecessarily complicated approach when you could just have a normal clutch lever with a quickshifter. Realistically there's no reason to have an automatic on a motorcycle.

I’m not totally opposed to this GSA, looks will take getting used to but so has every new one. I’m trying to understand the automatic transmission… besides the need for it if you a medical reason or handicap, I get that. What’s the advantage otherwise? Will the auto clutch burn out down a 100 mile road of sand or deep gravel or would it make it easier to navigate??

Like the design cues taken from the Hoske and also the Hienrich tanks for R50 and R 60

Good intro to the bike Bob but I think you should t be afraid to say what you think and it comes across like you’re really holding back on what you think. The bike looks like a 1940’s tank. The look back factor is really important, as you point out, and that bike looks terrible. You drive a Tiger. They look awesome and ride fantastically - that a great combo. The BMW will probably cost circa £27k fully spec’d but stil look like a Lego concept!
