Congratulation nice addition to your shop Looking forward seeing what you come up with Suggestion as a young lad I vaguely remember a shop with a sliding pedestal in order to accommodate diffrent task it simply slide under the work bench I also remember that at time some workers used it with a stool making their work easier( the pedestal had a small realling in order not to step or slide of it )

If I had it to do over I'd go for a tilting grinder for sure. I've got a horizontal edge grinder, but it'd be nice to have it on the main grinder. Variable speed is also a great "nice to have" and I wouldn't want to be without it now. Maybe one day I can afford their TX grinder.

I like that term "Barbie Doll" as it really captures the concept well. If you have a good friend with a lathe and mill, you could most likely put some bushings in the lose joints to take a lot of the movement out. It may not be worth the expense to have it done professionally, but if someone would do it for a six pack plus materials it might work a lot better.

In response to selling holdfasts at Markets, there's a whole bunch of tools that I've always dreamed of working with a blacksmith to create. I mean even a set of chisels forged and rough ground and ready for a woodworker to honing and personalize.

Belt grinders are the one thing where I am a little envious of the U.S market, they're just not available in any quality in the UK. If I had a lathe I could make one but to buy a lathe to make one I may as well try and ship one from the U.S and hope I can get 240v motors and controllers here. I make tools not knives too, and a belt grinder would be a huge help to me.

I still cannot fathom how a square wheel grinder got its name. Seems to me like the first person to proclaim it to be 'square wheel' didn't pass the course on 'Shapes 101' at age two. They probably struggle with 'hot' and 'cold' too. Bless their heart!

I think that it had to do with the fact that you weren't stuck with a stone wheel that had lost its corners years earlier, Stan. With this one, you just put on a new belt and you have nice new sharp&square corners.
