I was married to a minister, lead pastor for 44 yrs. When his sin of visiting prostitutes and embezzlement came to light. I left. I left traumatized. I knew something was wrong with him. I just didn’t know the depravity he had fallen into. This is my take. If you have to be caught, it’s not repentance. In 2017 and 2018 there was an open heaven over our marriage. When I say open heaven… I am saying that God was giving my husband a chance to come clean. I am not saying that God was putting his approval on what he (my then husband) was doing. If he had come and told me everything he had ever done I would still be married. It would have been difficult but it’s the only way. Tell the truth. Mike Bickle had to be caught. He’s sorry he got caught. He not sorry over his sin. Godly sorrow leads to repentance. It grieves me when people try to cover over the sins of these people. He who covers over sins will not prosper.

It should not be this way....., but I hate hearing the word "prophetic." It has become an idol to a whole movement, a diversion from Christ. What happened to discipleship? What happened to memorizing the Word, holiness, true evangelism? I appreciate Blaise putting the Word forward, over against experience.

At the very beginning, Strang promised he would call out Mike Bickle if more was uncovered. Now that more has been uncovered - and not just more, but a 14-yr.-old and a 15-yr.-old! - Strang just keeps doubling-down. It's horrible. 😭

And the 15 year old victim later married and divorced Bob Hartley, the creepy dude that recorded his solicitation of someone for money. He also prophesied on them IHOPKC stage. His relationship with Mike Bickle spans 40 years. And Mike Bickle’s son, Luke, has been staying at Bill Hartley’s house. They’ve become sloppy covering their tracks. But God appears to be allowing all of this to come out into the light.

1 Cor. 6:32 says that "No (unrepentant) Adulterer or sexually immoral person doesn't have any access to the Kingdom or the things of God. We can know that he wasn't repentant because he told Tammy that if she told anyone that it would ruin his marriage and his ministry, which tells us that he knew what true repentance would bring. And he sought to hide his sin in the heart of a fourteen year old and did so for 47 years. It's so sick that he placed the responsibility of his marriage and his ministry in the heart of a minor and made her carry it for her whole life.

I don’t care if he was 25yrs. Old he knew better and now his sin of being a pedi- file, predator, no hard tellings what all he did from a kid growing up. I know of which I speak. Because I was married to one, & GOD GAVE ME THE DISCERNMENT AND I HAD NOTHING THAT MADE ME THINK I WAS SEEING THIS, like Mikey everybody loved him.. why the Lord didn’t let me see this before I married him, he did I just chalked it off as I was to protective of my daughter’s and we both backslid and moved in with each other. Plus I need to add this, I was S-abused ( a lot) so I also thought I was putting something on him because of my past. But once we’d, I ran back to church and I know it broke Gods heart, with my girls enduring this and me also.. This is no joking matter and it’s really sad that for whatever reason GOD didn’t expose it sooner, no matter each other’s opinions are, their are just gonna be things that we may not get answers for until we get to heaven… there is EVIL IN THIS WORLD AND ALOT OF THEM ARE SITTING IN OUR PEWS, and some behind the pulpit as my girls found out the hurtful way… I’ve said my peace… with all that prayer going on their it’s hard not to think some knew, there is always some that know but keep silent 😢☹️

It's so sick that he placed the responsibility of his marriage and his ministry in the heart of a minor and made her carry it for her whole life." As much as I honor Tammy for the way she handled this over the years, looking at it from what you wrote reveals the truly dark dark side of it all.

I'm sorry to hear what you have endured, Discernment comes in the form of an 'unction' or inner feeling for what is good and right and what is wrong and evil and is something that we all need to learn how to develop in our lives. The young and the naive have not yet learned how to comprehend the unctions or comprehend the things of God and until they learn those things they are very vulnerable to the evils of this world. It was Mike's responsibility as a pastor to teach, protect and cover the innocent until they could learn to listen to God for themselves. But Mike didn't do that but rather he used his position to prey upon them in order to satisfy his lusts, and then to compounded his wickedness he sought to hide his sin in their hearts by making them feel responsible to maintain his marriage and his ministry by keeping silent.@@deborahvarneyduboise6776

What boggles my mind is the death curse he repeatedly spoke over his wife Diane in order to abuse these young women 😵‍💫😭I mean, with a covering like that, what woman needs enemies? He covered his wife with violence in addition to betraying her, making a mockery of the sanctity of marriage, he actually divorced her when he had sex outside of marriage and corrupted those who looked up to him. He has a deep covenant with darkness. Mayday! 😳😵😭

@@lademoiselleketoret6958 What's maybe worse is according to Diane, she revealed to Mike that she believed she was going to die young because of a couple of women she knew who had done so. So he took that fear of hers, used it in a seductive way, and used it again (with Diane's confirmation) to say that's only what he may have or did tell these girls - the rest was fabricated or misunderstood by them. He is an intentional liar.

I was a student at FSM in IHOP from 04-06. I feel like the prophetic history should be thrown out. So many stories involving Paul Cane and Bob Jones. Ones who were abusing women and minors and Mike now too. Mike said the expression of Christianity would change in one generation. In some ways that is true. This generation is seeing through his bs. This generation is not putting up with abusive and manipulative leaders anymore.

You were also talking about "mixture". It reminds me of another word that Mike always said. Something to to the effect of- "to a people without mixture, I will pour out my Spirit without measure." I say this in humility, because I do not want "mixture" in my own heart, but I think the mixture that operated in Mike, Bob and Paul cut their legs out from under them at day one.

The Lord allows these things (obviously). I know many who have touched this thing...including Andrew Strom (who wrote books on it, about IHOPKC)....his walk was deeply negotiated by this spirit. As soon as it appeared in public 1993 (in the false revivals) the Lord showed me "it's the false prophet" (the spirit)...clearly it's judgement.......God can wash you.....those who continue will be the unwise virgin!

Super good point that the harp and bowl model is NOT synonymous with the prayer movement! I was on staff at IHOPKC and thankfully never saw it that way, thoughany around me did. Hi Blaise and Christina! I’m in a different theological camp, so to speak, and I’ve never been a follower of Bickle or IHOPKC. My son wanted to do an internship there in 2011 but was unable to raise support and thereafter he deconstructed. He continues to renounce the Christian faith and I believe it’s in large part due to the spiritual pressure put upon young people. If your prayers don’t get answered, must be a you problem. Anyway, when all this broke out in October and I started seeing it on Twitter in October as a longtime follower of Joel Richardson, KZfaq showed me your channel and I’ve been watching ever since and follow you both on Twitter. Thank you for your honesty and willingness to admit that this thing never should’ve been built. Praying for God’s richest blessings upon you and your wife and family!

Greetings from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 Hi Blaise, It's really encouraging to see your progress and how you and your wife have been able to navigate through this whole ihopkc situation. It's been really good to watch you work through the challenges especially the excesses associated with the charismatic community and your realisation of what's really important, the proclamation of the gospel. I was born a Roman Catholic but was converted in the charismatic/Pentecostal movement when I was 14. After 30 years as a Pentecostal/Charismatic, I can honestly say I was much much more superstitious when I was a charismatic than when I was a Roman Catholic and I used to do the sign of the cross when I spilt some salt. As a charismatic, I was really caught up in what I was doing and especially what I was missing out on. There was always an imminent move of God that I was terrified to miss. The New Testament writers calls us to faith and obedience to God and being faithful to our wives and children. Honest in our work and proclaimers of the hope that is within us. As we grow in sanctification being transformed into the image of Christ, we need not chase the dream or the vision but keep our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ the author and perfecter of our faith. Being faithful husbands and fathers, all to the glory of God. Amen 🙏

I appreciated you talking about the prophetic history of IHOPKC. One of the things that really bothers me about Strang and Brown is that they are sidestepping and ignoring what the Bible has to say about false prophets and false teachers. Bickle and Jones were both false. They used prophecy to manipulate and abuse people. Nothing they ever prophecied should be given any credibility. If the prayer movement can’t stand on scripture alone it should be abandoned.

I hope ihopkc knows that millions of people are praying without ceasing. IHOP is not the only place where prayer is going up. Millions are in their prayer closets every day. They are not making a spectacle of it with constant music and people’s looking for a personal prophecy. It sound like the prayer was more for Mike Bickles will than God’s revealed will in the written word. I’m not doubting the sincerity of the faithful there but it’s clear they were deceived by him. Intercession is to pray God’s will not some vision that a wolf in sheep’s clothing used to get his own ego and lustful intentions fulfilled. It is very sad. Remember a little leaven spoils the whole loaf. I’m 75 years old and believe me ihop was not the inventor of prayer. I believe it’s time for the axe to be laid to the root of this rotten tree. And you are right, Gods people need to get in the word… all the prophecy we need is in the Bible. God is exposing these false teachers, or so called prophets. May Jesus forgive and have mercy. He is giving the people to repent. The hour is late. Come Lord Jesus. God Bless.

I find it so strange that people believe IHOP started a prayer movement. JESUS started the prayer movement when he taught the disciples "THIS is how you should pray" !!! This is what happens when we take our eyes offs of Jesus.

I love how you encourage people to let go of the big ministry structures and movements. I've experienced major hurt and abuse from 3 ministries I've worked for, and one of their biggest tools is to make you think Jesus won't minister through anyone else. That lie will keep people aligned with a toxic ministry as long as anyone believes it. But once we see the Scriptural and historical truth that Jesus has always and will always preserve His Church, we can be free to truly worship and serve Him, regardless of how flashy our ministry looks to others.

Morningstar used to do large conferences at my church and Bob Jones would always come also. I heard all the “prophecies” about a “billion soul harvest” “stadiums being filled” “hospitals being emptied” etc etc. Looking back I see just how ridiculous it all is. Honest question - do any of the “prophecies” of these so called “prophets” ever truly come to pass? Do they point people to Jesus? Has the world become a better place because of these ministries? Things we should ponder. Thank you for your work Blaise. Keep pointing people to Jesus, brother!

Just like WE are each a temple of the Holy Spirit, so are we each a house of prayer. I was in the prayer ministry for 30 years and that’s my conclusion at this time. I believe we learned what we needed to. I was in the USSR where it was illegal to have gatherings or Bibles and they were blessed to have a page out of the Bible…I saw amazing strong faith and miracles happen as their relationship was pure, simple and powerful with the Word himself more than with a book, though they treasured whatever portion they had. Sometimes I think there is more affection for the book than the one who is the Word. I believe every idol is being brought down out of Father's love for us--including MB and others in bondage. I have worked with survivors and witnessed first hand the devastation brought on by SA. My heart goes out to every Jane Doe, including those unaware that they are like Tammy Woods and TH were! It's easy to be gaslighted by someone with so much power and charisma. At the end of the day it's about loving Father and others as ourselves. In the midst of everything am I still loving or judging? I see this as Father's great grace--MB had many decades to deal with his stuff and since it has continued it is now time for things hidden in darkness to come into the light--out of Father's love for him and all of us! When every idol--especially those we aren't aware of in our lives comes crumbling down, then like those folks in the USSR, all we have is him and that is a very good thing! At this time in life I’m also back to keeping it simple and real!

We were warned by Jesus about false prophets and teachers but we are told not to despise prophesy, there is still true prophets and prophetic gifting. I think this is what the person meant when they said don't give up on true prophesy. The problem is that so many followers of these big named "prophets" are not testing and judging these prophesies and these prophets. People need to be more Biblically sound and have better discernment.

Good word. We need to find the true prophetic and there is so much unhealthy on both sides. Obviously the spiritual gifts side is bring exposed but even our cessationist brothers will have accountability why they suppressed it altogether? We don't toss out the gifts of the spirit because someone misused them. One could say it's spiritual abuse to deprive the sheep of these gifts God has given to us but you don't teach them because your afraid of them

Hey Blaze. We met back sometime in 2009 during the awakening and had a talk about works and spiritual formation. I still remember how that all went down with Stuart and the hyper grace stuff. I wasn’t enrolled in FMA at the time, but I was going to night watch quite frequently, especially for Jaye’s set. As Someone who has witnessed your spiritual journey since 2008, I got nothing but made respect for you. You have truly demonstrated what it means to “walk out one’s salvation. with fear and trembling.” Love ya bro! Much love from California.

I can’t begin to express how encouraged and blessed my wife and I were by all you shared here tonight Blaise. Rock solid. Though it became clear (at least to my wife and I) Bob Jones was a false prophet at KC Fellowship (83-84), and though I could never get on board with his stories about Gabriel appearing to him and being “caught up”etc, I was still deceived by his “good natured” appearance and seeming sincerity that he exuded. I always thought he was being deceived by Jones and somehow didn’t discern he was of a wrong spirit in spite of so many things he spoke that were contrary to scripture. I was very new in Christ, having been saved in 81 and still wasn’t solidly grounded in the scriptures. Looking back it’s very clear to us now (of course;) why he was so comfortable with Jones. “Can two walk together unless they are agreed?”

I hope through all this that many people will connect with the ministry that Michael Sullivant is now involved in - Life Model Works. After I was involved with several different ministries and seeing the immaturity and messiness in all of them and in me, Life Model Works and the other ministries associated with it are the most stable and mature ministries I've ever seen. The leaders are very humble, and one of the main focuses is becoming a "gentle protector." I've experienced more true intimacy with God and genuine personal growth than through any other perspective.

I believe in all the gifts of the Spirit, but I'm wondering if any of these people who are or have been associated with Mike Bickle didn't see it, when they saw double locks on doors and MB spending time with women alone a lot, how are they real prophets or even naturally discerning of unwise behavior? Is there such a charisma and deceptive enviroment with MB that creates a kind of hero worship that it fools even the most respected people known as prophets?

🤔 Something I’ve always thought as funny is when Christian’s use any of the 4 horsemen of Rev 6 as imagery of evil you have to immediate discredit them….they’re the Fathers horses and riders released from the first seal. So…if a Christian says a “black hose” is coming against them/us it may be the Father making war against his enemies and that may be you. Just some food for thought. 🤔

Bless you Blaise, i came out of a very unhealthy NAR type church with a pastor who committed similar abuses. We would have many theological issues but you are speaking SO MUCH truth! Back to the bible..m back to the simple gospel and you are using your brain too! God gave us minds to discern and reason out an issue. The old guard in the charismatic church can be so toxic. I never understand why gross sins are given a pass in the name of an anointing. What excuses and what a lie... you are right, holding up the bible , that is the main thing. We may differ theologically on a lot but the main thing is the main thing. Praise God! 33:04 you are speaking so much truth here! We dont need the prwyer room. I love the stories of the grandmothers who pray unceasingly...thank you for actively sharing both your heart, thoughts and scripture.

I completely agree with you about the sincere hearts at ihopkc being sacred but NOT neccesarily Bickle and his vision. If a throrough investigation is done, no telling what will turn up, most of it not very becoming for a spiritual leader, if you can even muster calling him that now. Sounds like you are getting some clarity concerning this "thing" and I love what you said concerning NOT allowing experience(feeling imo) dictate your theology, as you said scripture is the source theology !!!

Bickle is clearly part of a “brotherly fraternity” along with Stephen Strang, Eric Metaxas, Rick Joyner, Francis Chan, etc… and one of the first rules you commit to is defending accused brothers at all costs regardless of the accusations. This is why Strang is acting so strange. These ‘brothers’ defended Bickle before the specific details of the accusers were made public! Why would they risk damage to their own credibility by breaching ‘temporary neutrality’ and examining the credibility of the accusations? Well they all did what their respective ‘handlers’ told them to do/say. Their collective and almost immediate response to fervently defend Mike Bickle was most telling in that regard.

I see the email MB released on jan 30 as a man desperately running around trying to save what is most precious to him, while his house burns down around him. I also found the Diane would/will say this and that very disturbing. This points to a view he has of his marriage- that he has held so long, he doesn’t realise how callous it is. I see no concern for Diane. Just presumption. It’s awful. Maybe I’m wrong, but I believe Jesus has more concerns over his marriage than his ministry.

I have simplified what a CULT is to 4 basic principles; 1) the claim of direct revelation from God (either a prophet or specific prophesy) 2) Eschatology (an emphasis on a particular eschatological perspective) 3) Imminent future glory (something big is going to happen and you don't want to miss out). 4) no gospel or another gospel preached If you look at all cults, they have at least three of these four things emphasised and that should be enough to have your red flags waving 🚩 as a warning. Did ihopkc have these?

The gifts of the Spirit are not the same thing as NAR. The idea of the Fivefold ministry came in with the Latter Rain teaching, a belief that was completely repudiated by the Assemblies of God in the 1950s. NAR is an authoritarian, dominionist movement.

The prophetic history of IHOPKC has been continually revised and edited when things did not come to pass. Why was the "white horse" prophecy changed after Pat Bickle passed away?no longer speaking about the man on the board when Pat was not healed. Shouldn't the whole white horse prophecy be thrown out since part of it didn't happen? How's many of Mike's "prophecies" have actually come to pass? And has he repented for his inaccurate words and owned it? No, why would he when all he had to do is rewrite history.

Thanks Blaise for your podcasts. They are a blessing. Please, please, please do not say that Mike Bickle started the Harp and Bowl model. The Moravians were practicing 24 hour prayer and worship in the 1730's. Here is an excerpt from the website of the Moravian Church prayer house in Tallinn, Estonia: "The Moravian Church, an extremely pious Lutheran denomination, was founded in the early 1720s in Germany by Count N. L. von Zinzedorf. It soon reached Estonia via the educated class, manor owners and pastors. It was hoped that the Moravian Church would bring the people closer to Christianity. It succeeded but not always in the way that the manor lords intended. The missionaries who arrived in Estonia from Germany learned the indigenous language, traveled about the villages and held worship sessions. Local preachers, including women, emerged from among the villagers. The brethren taught the peasantry to read and even to write so that they could read the Bible, and record religious thoughts. They emphasized people’s equality and fraternity. All this proved a boon to the peasant’s national consciousness. In spite of difficult circumstances, the common folk began to build prayer houses. They would sing at prayer hours, and talk about religious convictions. For more, you can read about it here: evm.ee/exhibition/the-islands/moravian-church-prayer-house#:~:text=The%20Moravian%20Church%20prayer%20house,the%20movement%20gained%20many%20followers. I have been to the museum and seen their model. They were true missionaries who left their countries, families and comforts to evangelize the lost. They were the real deal. Their prayer houses were fascinating. they had 3 rooms: 1 for prayer and worship, 1 for sleeping and 1 for kitchen/eating and heating. The houses were small, but there were many of them. They did their prayer, sleeping and kitchen duty and fire keeping in 8 hour shifts. I think there were 6 people per house. The Moravians brought real Christianity to Estonia. They taught the peasant class to read and write and taught them choral music, besides teaching them the Bible.

When many do the wrong thing… it doesn’t make it better. It only shows the seriousness of this issue in the church. Just because a crime happened a long time ago doesn’t mean it’s not a crime. With crime it’s the seriousness of the crime and level. Sexual abuse with a minor is very serious crime it doesn’t matter how longtime it happened.

Notice the theme in everything Mike says: Greatness. His living “humbly” was only unto being great in the age to come. The chariot crap, how IHOP will save Israel. The white horse, the black horse. Everything is so fantastical and “important”. It’s been his desire to lead a “movement” since the start. None of it is humble. Greatness is such a lure…but let’s call it what it is: Lust.
