Here’s a review of Bachman’s new class 47 deluxe with sound and working fans. Is worth the money??? Who knows, I think the original was pretty good to beat, I can see improvements, overall a beautiful but expensive model. Next on the hunt is for a BR blue Hornby class 56 super detail, never had a super detail 56 but now is the time for one! Enjoy and thanks for watching :)

As nice as it is and as much of a 47 lover I am, i cant justify that sort of money.

It is very expensive for what it is really, love a Hornby class 50 although they are getting pricey now!

Interesting but expensive - it’s not “ pre TOPS”, that’s given away by its TOPS number on the side 47012. Also time period this is firmly in the 1977 to about 1983 zone , in 76 they did away with headcodes and would them all to 0000, then came your dominoes and then the grey marker lights early mid 80s

Loco does look good 👍 my thought is regarding the roof fans. Are they run from the drive motor like the hornby class 50s. 🤔 as every class 50 I have I've removed the drive fans as it causes drag on the motor which helps shorten motor life and causes slight reduced performance too .. so I wonder how bachmann have powered there's....

Thank you for tuning in! I did wonder myself to be honest, dare not to open and have a look! The early 50’s have the belt driven fan, can’t remember if my 50033 has! They done it to the 50’s 56’s and early class 43’s. Does put wear on the motors, so I usually slip the body off and cut the belts off! My 50027 lion has it and works with no issues! Normally they squeal, will have to investigate the operation of the bachmann one!

I think there pushing the extras to justify the price tag, I think the old one was good it makes it hard to justify this price, there using the current situation to raise prices and maximise profits, Will you be going to the Hellesdon Exhibition

I totally agree, the old one was a pretty amazing example to be honest. I like the Vitrains and Heljan ones but spares can be scarce. I have one of each and never use them! I only have one bachmann class 47, 47712 scotrail lady Diana spencer, released a few years ago and the detail on that is well up there!
