Awesome video mate. I'm from Australia and i can tell you that the NR's & UGL locos are the backbone of the Australia's Railways. We have the NRs do THE GHAN The Indian Pacific The Great Southern & The Overland passenger trains. As well as all different freight duties around Australia. The UGL C44s mostly do freight. Cavalex Models are watching, Nice review! The sound file was custom recorded from 56105 at Shrewsbury depot last year. It sounds exactly like the real one does including the tickover. The black bits on the doors are small vents that are painted black on the loadhaul liveried locos.

This is a great model from them. I used to have a DC Rail but I was not so lucky with that one as it had a jammed truck. But I am going to get one of their Class 60 models and another Class 56 when they do another run as the second run models will have better fixing clips to improve durability. Cavelex Models might be a new player in terms of their locomotives but they did a nice job on the detail. Well done on getting this one mate.

Nice loco, I have the Railfreight grey model, best class 56 on the market, Cavalex could probably take over from Accurascale as a ultra detailed model manufacturer, it would great if Cavalex produced an Class 08, 58, 73 or even a maintenance crane, thanks for sharing.

I was on this train. Driver thrashed her to death knowing her boiler certificate was due to expire. Failed near Swainsthorpe. 47 804 provided some rear end assistance.

I've heard a few people comment about the same destination name on both ends... I've never actually been on one of these but I'm sure if the train is heading to a specific destination then that destination name would be on both ends of the train, because whichever end of the train you look at, its still going to Nottingham or Liverpool or Manchester or whatever...

Looks lovely, was looking for alternative haulage for my NSE rake for Waterloo-Exeter other than class 50s NSE which are a bit big for my layout and expensive. Theres a photo online of this loco working that route as well as the Waterloo - (Bournemouth- Weymouth 4TC set which I also have.

5 years not one comment 😢 . Ill ask 2 questions , hows it going now 5 years on . What sound decoder is fitted ? I didnt like Bachmanns Zimo decoder in their new tooled 37 . Kept cutting out pain to restart. Sold it brand new for a 50% loss .Can't win em all 😮. Thanks for the video .

Toraly agree with you, hornbys mk4 is a disgrace, i returned all 8 lner models i received as they are just so poor in quality. There were lots of paint chips, and other paint defects like doors missing paint etc. Compared to hornbys brilliant new mk3 s these are as though they were made by a different manufacturer. Also i had to return three class 91 as all of them had dents from where the packaging comes into contact with the bodywork, seems like they were packed before the paint dried.

Setting 63 to 150 worked for me too.

Q:- Where are you getting the CV63 from? I've got the same issue on my factory-sound Andromeda (37608) but CV63 isn't mentioned on the functions 'cheat sheet', at all. 'Engine on/off' shows 3 CVs - 259/499/507, where values are 192/128/128 respectively. (192 now changed to 150). Is CV63 a catch-all volume control, to change the whole gamut of sounds together? Noticed the horns are all value 205 - might explain why they sound raspy & distorted.

Same issues. I have 2 out of 2 like this. Have 100+ sound fitted locos. No other problems, mainly self fit with customm speakers. I reckon there is an issue with the Acc set up, speaker, file

I had the same issue with 608 contacted accurascale and they suggested on cv63 lower the value to 150. Hope this helps.

A while ago I bought two Hornby Mk2D TSOs for about £35 each, I didn't realise at the time that the tooling was the Airfix one. Talk about being overpriced! I was so desperate for MK2s in BR blue that I really should have done my research on what the toolings were! The good news is that I've recently managed to get hold off a heap of Hornby Mk2f's which means I will be selling those two Mk2D's.

How many coaches do you need for a full rake? I only see coaches A-F online right now. I have the power cars could you help me out? But I see rakes in real life with 7-8 coaches.

Hi, great video, I really like this HST set, I had one about 35 plus years ago, ended up selling to a mate for not a lot of money, I’m waiting for the 21pin version with the working fans to come out later in the year, I have a few items to sell and put towards the cost of the new set which is overpriced in my opinion, thanks for sharing this lovely set, you’re a very lucky modeller indeed.

Definitely my new favourite train on my layout, love my class 144 northern, and it was a huge improvement to my class 142 arriva…

I cured mine by getting rid of the terrible fault filled sound file.. Now has the new legomanbiffo accurscale 37 sound file at 192 volume...

She looks and sounds superb!

Sending mine back to Rails at some point for replacement/repair, they're both massively out of gauge.

Still faulty ? AS have had over 2 years to get this right - if folks are having serious sound and cutting out issues it ain't speaking volumes about quailty.....Or is there a cure other than a return ?

I always lower the sound setting on all my loco's between 60 and 100 on CV 63 , they do sound more realistic and keeps the better half happy too LOL . Cheers......Peter

I would lower it back even further to maybe 100 to 120 volume

Hi, I'm glad it worked for you too, but I can't take all the credit as it was Richard Watson of New Junction / Accurascale that suggested it to me to try on mine and it worked. Although I set mine to 150 (20%) Richard did say to reduce it by only 10% so I might try 160 or even 170 to see what happens.

I had the same problem with my 37419. Found a video on here where the apparent solution was to run the loco in, and that seemed to fix it, but now and then it still cuts out on startup as yours does, so maybe lowering the volume is better. I've also found that the spirax valves do not work and the mapping for the tail light switch is wrong. This is not the best 37 sound project I have, but the speaker kind of makes up for it. As I have a Lokprogrammer I might play around with it. Many thanks for the video!

Have you tried setting the volume higher than 160 or even back to 192 now that it works? Suppose you can set the volume on both locos to be the same if the difference was very noticeable.
