Cincinnatian here. The talks with Hamilton County have been moving along, but the county had been requesting the NFL to chip in that $100-$120 million for renovations. The Bengals were already expected to pitch in somewhere around 40-50 million, but Hamilton County didn't want to be on the hook for the rest. The renovation has always expected to be in the 300-400 million range. There's no chance the Bengals get a new stadium, so this renovation will probably keep it in viable condition for the next 20 years or so. Locally, it seems like news outlets are making a bigger deal out of this, as most of the progress has been procedural at this point.

the stadium is fine. Yes, it needs some upgrades but thinking all teams, especially ones owned by poorer owners, need to play the arms race game on these stadiums is not wise. Hats off to the Brown family -- they're not playing the relocation threat game. They want to stay in Cincy and won't be pushing for every last public dollar.

As someone who has lived in Cincinnati all of their life, Paycor doesn’t need a “drastic” renovation like a lot other teams need. A lot of that money is going towards enhancing the fan experience, including widening areas around the stadium to ease the flow of pedestrian traffic, and also player facilities.

Yes it does need a big renovation it's old and rusty

@@widk2 The stadium is not old and rusty. It opened in the early 2000's. That being said, a few upgrades such as signage and adding escalators/improving areas with a lot of traffic within would be good to see. I can say this from having been to the stadium to watch games.

You forget though that all these owners now want all these new and shiny stadiums and are gonna use whatever they can for leverage. It seems like there’s been a big boom lately on stadium construction and I doubt any team owner wants to sit on the sidelines while that happens. Whether the city/county will give in is another question all together

@tomwujek4867 I disagree I went to a game in 2017 it sucked and the crowed was dead definitely needs a renovation or new stadium.

@@jorgeore86 I didn’t forget anything. All Owners don’t want/need to invest in a new stadium. Cincinnati is probably one of the LAST teams that has a 20+ year old stadium to need a new one. Spend that money on renovating an already fine stadium. Additionally, knowing the geography of Cincinnati, where the hell would you logically place a new stadium? They’d have to go outside the city limits and I don’t see that happening.

Looks like every stadium in the AFC North is getting some type of renovation, considering the ages of all their stadiums.

what happen to all the information from Gensler then they tried to say a billion dollars then they turned around and said they would sign a lease for 5 years no if the tax payers paying we nned more control of the stadium more events a return in are investment they need to offer the people of the county discounts on staduim events if they putting are tax dollars into to the stadium.

Sounds similar to what’s going on in Charlotte with the Panthers.

Cities need to say enough is enough you want the revenue you pay for the upkeep also.

The City of Cincinnati is on the hook for any renovations or new stadium due to the deal that was signed. Their screwed no matter what.

You just got to wonder how much Inflation makes the$e dollar amounts so huge....Large construction projects are always expen$ive, but it's still rather mind-boggling when 9 friggin' figures is considered just a 'small renovation'. "A billion here, a billion there, pretty soon you'll be talking about lot$ of money" - an old saying, but used to be "million"....

Slowly real company's are pulling out of stadium naming deals and being replaced with **SUS** company's Paycor stadium? Acrisure stadium?

The only thing I thinks needs a renovation to this stadium is the lower level concourses. It feels like a prison.
